Chapter 1: A man worthy
The story of two heroes often begins years before their time. Such is true for the story of the great Dragon King Bakugou Katsuki and his Divine Knight, Midoriya Izuku. Their story began in the dead of night, a peaceful and quiet night like any other…
A lone figure stood atop a building, the full moon glowing behind him. It was a man known for his horrifying ruthlessness and cruelty, All For One. He kept his true nature a secret from the rest of the people in the town, preferring to pull strings from the shadows and building a small army of people loyal to him and him alone. However, on this peaceful and beautiful night, he would be the one to carry out his plan.
He was currently watching the Midoriya household, a family of two people; the castle cook and a farmer. They were a simple pair, nothing extraordinary about that meets the eye, and no type of powers or abilities to speak of. And yet, the man of the household, Midoriya Hisashi, had been bestowed the the greates power known throughout the land. The power of the gods, One for All. The mere thought that such an ordinary and not special man with no quirk was considered more worthy than himself, made his blood boil. But tonight, he would have his revenge.
He jumped down from the roof he was on and stalked forward. They had just gone to bed an hour prior, and were sleeping soundly and peacefully. He couldn’t wait to ruin this disgusting scene. The house was made of primarily wood with a stone foundation.
‘So easily flammable, it’s as if they were asking for me to light it ablaze’ he thought to himself.
He began to set the house on fire, beginning in the back and moving to the sides, ensuring only the front would be an escape route. He then positioned himself at the front, blocking that only hope for escape. The flames continued to grow and even spread to surrounding homes and foliage.
All for One watched as Hisashi began to stir in bed, his eyes slowly opening. As he took in his surroundings and realized what was happening, he jolted up in bed. He glanced around quickly, assessing the damage done and exit routes, shaking his wife’s shoulder to wake her up.
“Inko! INKO! Wake up! We need to get out of the house now!” He yelled while getting out of bed.
The woman groggily opened her eyes and gasped at what she saw, drawing smile into her lungs and making her cough. She sprung out of bed and quickly grabbed a box from the side table, throwing it into a bag and making her way to the front of the house with her husband of two years. They nearly made it to the door, but a dark figure stepped in front of them, making them pause.
“I don’t think so, Midoriya” All for One said as he took a fighting stance. Hisashi momentarily looked surprised before taking on an angry and serious expression.
“All For One. I’m assuming this is your doing. But why? We trained together for years, we LIVED together for years!” Hisashi said pain and anger in his voice.
“You aren’t worthy of One for All. I simply came here to reclaim it.” He said. Hisashi was about to retort when Inko got his attention by another coughing fit, they were getting worse.
She’s not getting enough oxygen he thought worriedly with a conflicted expression. He looked over at All for One and then to the flames that were engulfing most of the house. He gained a determined and solemn look on his face, and turned back towards All for One.
“The house is almost completed covered in flames. Two things can happen here now: You and I can get into a fight and I win quickly by using One for All. Or, you manage to somehow hold your own and I still manage to beat you. However, my wife isn’t doing well and won’t be able to last much longer. So I want to trade. You let Inko go and I’ll let you kill me here and now, with no struggle. You’ll become the strongest man in the kingdom. But in exchange I want you to let her live and not bring her any harm.” Hisashi said with a stern and fierce expression.
“W-Wait NO! *cough cough* Please Hisashi Stop! Don’t do this! *cough*” Inko said as she lowered to the ground in her coughing fit, pulling on her husbands sleeve. He bent down and caressed her cheek, smiling sweetly at her.
“I’m sorry my love, but I have to do this.” He said while wiping her tears away.
“But you don’t! You don’t Hisashi! I know that you still haven’t- mph!” Her words were muffled as Hisashi pulled her into a kiss, full of love and as a final goodbye. The man pulled away from her and looked into her eyes. She understood then, why it was that he needed to do this. But it didn’t make it any less painful.
”I love you, Hisashi” she said in a broken, yet sincere whisper.
”You’re my world Inko. I would do anything for you. But it’s also my sworn duty to protect this kingdom. I can save everyone by doing this. I love you with all of my heart.” He said while kissing her on the forehead.
“What a touching display” All for One said mockingly. “However, I came here for the power of One for All, not just to kill you. Though I plan to do that too” he said with a smirk.
“Sorry, but you’re already too late for that” Hisashi said with a smirk, “The power of One for All can only be passed down with the blessing of the predecessor. With what you pulled today, I couldn’t even pretend to want you to have it. It simply wouldn’t work”
“What?!” All for One growled with an angered expression on his face. He raised his arm and manifested a black sword. “Fine. Killing you will still be just as satisfying. Come here, trash.”
“And you promise to spare Inko’s life?” Hisashi asked.
”Giving up the greatest power in the world for some woman, you truly are weak. Very well, your life for hers. She may go once you are dead. I give you my word as a knight.” All for One said. He motioned for Hisashi to walk forward.
“Goodbye, My love” Hisashi said with a sad smile as he looked back at Inko.
“No, Wait! Please! *cough cough* HISASHI” he kneeled down and bowed his head, All for One raising the sword in the sky “STOP IT, STOP IT PLEASE” Inko sobbed.
All for One brought down the sword quickly and harshly, slicing through Hisashi’s neck cleanly. He ended with a quick, painless death.
“Truly, he was a man worthy.” All for One said with an evil and mocking smile spreading across his face. He turned towards Inko, watching her struggle to breathe and stay conscious.
“I will keep my word to Midoriya, I won’t kill you” he said, kicking the woman in her side, making her cry out and fall to the goring, “but that doesn’t mean you won’t be burned alive” he said as he turned and asked out of the house, leaving Inko to die in the flames he created.
Inko struggled to take in fresh air, the smoke from the fire filling the house almost completely. She began to crawl forward, a difficult task with her aching side and lack of strength. Her vision began to grow fuzzy as she made it to the doorway of the house, and she wasn’t able to move anymore. She collapsed, and as her consciousness began to fade, she looked outside and saw a woman with blonde hair running towards her, calling out her name. Then everything went black.
