It was only a few more days now, and then, Christmas! Was it always this exciting?
Well, he never knew. This was Gonta's first Christmas, after all. He never knew much about the holidays, only one thing... Santa! He heard from Shuichi and Kaito, that if you be a true gentleman all year round, that Santa gives you presents. Gonta loved that idea, not wanting to seem all too greedy, but he thought it was a fun idea! Plus, he has been nothing but gentlemanly for as long as he could remember, so he hoped he could even meet Santa. Although, sadly, he heard a little later on in the day from Kokichi that if you don't prepare yourself for his arrival and make yourself look good, that Santa will leave you out.
Gonta was sat at their big dinner table, talking to Rantaro and Kirumi, the latter preparing a dinner for the class, as the others seemed busy with other things, didn't cook or weren't allowed in the kitchen after a certain "Magic" Event. Rantaro was listening to Gonta's talk about Santa, although the constant talk reminded him to well of his sisters, and since he hadn't slept much the night before, the Adventurer started to drift into their own world, seemingly ignoring Gonta. It wasn't that he was boring him, no, but the way that Gonta spoke, and the speed, it was a lot for Rantaro to keep up with and take in, until he had a wild, wild thought.
"Hey, Gonta. Sorry to interupt you, but... Could we, like, decorate you?" Rantaro asked in such a straightforward manner, and smiled as he did so.
Gonta was a little confused at first, and quickly thanked Kirumi for letting him taste test the food yet again, to which she bowed and carried on. "Gonta confused, decorate Gonta how?"
"Your hair. It... It looks like a Christmas tree! Could we maybe decorate you for Christmas? That way you will definitely meet Santa. Right?" Rantaro spoke to Gonta, but directed the last part toward Kirumi, who nodded with a sweet smile.
Gonta's eyes lit up at that idea, the idea of meeting the most gentlemanly man ever, Santa Claus! Wow! He was so excited, he almost jumped up in joy, but remembered his manners and asked Kirumi if he and Rantaro could be excused.
"Hmm, I don't see why not. But don't take any decorations off the tree yet, at least wait and do it on Christmas Eve, okay?" She stood with her hands on her hips, quite definitely the Mother of the group.
With a giddy smile, Gonta leaped from the table and into their shared living room, which currently held Angie, Tenko and Kokichi. As he burst in, it startled Angie, but she didn't get mad. "Oh! Gonta, is everything alright? I can bless you personally for Atua if you would like?"
"Gonta is very very good! Gonta is happy, Gonta will meet Santa on Christmas, because of Rantaro's idea!" He said excitedly, almost jumping around the room. After a few moments, Rantaro waltzed in, and said his hellos.
"Big Brother Amami! I didn't know you were back already? Why didn't you come see meeee?" Kokichi whined, clearly missing Rantaro when he was away looking for his sisters. He only made it home the other day, and had managed to avoid speaking to Kokichi until now. Nothing against him, he just found Kokichi really annoying. Rantaro's response was a smile and light chuckle, not answering the shorter male one bit.
The two started bickering a little, well, mainly Kokichi getting on Rantaro's nerves, but Gonta explained their idea to decorate Gonta like a Christmas tree.
"I see, I see! Could I help, Gonta? I am an Artist after all." Angie said with a smile, standing upright from her seated position, most likely praying to Atua before the two walked in. Gonta nodded at with such speed it could have caused a tornado.
"Oh what fun! Tenko, will you join us in looking for a perfect look for Gonta?" Angie giggled as she spoke toward Tenko, who had that amazing sprite of her disgusted face.
"Help him? Angie, he is a him. I won't help a hapless male with wanting validation from another male. Also, why is Santa even a man? Why couldn't we have made-" As Tenko went on a tangent, Rantaro quickly covered her mouth as to not spoil the Santa secret for Gonta, to which Tenko did her epic awesome flip onto him.
"Stop fighting, please! Gonta is sorry for asking your help, Chabashira." Gonta bowed a few times, making sure that Tenko understood, and Rantaro still on the floor from her attack, let out a small gasp of pain.
"That- That wasn't nice..."
"It's what you get for having a dick, Ranty! I wonder what happens when we find out Kiibo has one, too? Maybe Tenko will beat up innocent RoboCop!" Kokichi made fun of Tenko, which then started a small scuffle, Kokichi ruinning about the place and Tenko full on drop kicking him. Rantaro just layed on the floor in pain. During the scuffle, Gonta and Angie spoke about ideas they had for making the, "Gontmas Tree", as how Kaede put it when she walked in with Tsumugi, both girls joining them in ideas, and with their enterance, Rantaro sat up and joined the conversation.
After a few more minutes of brainstorming ideas, and Rantaro one-upping Tsumugi when she suggested to wear a suit, and Rantaro said a brown suit for the bark look, which annoyed Tsumugi, Kirumi had finished making them all a nice dinner, and had called them all in. Ryoma was seen walking past the living room and knocking on some doors, presumably to tell the others about their meal. Granted, it was only the 20th of December, and still had some time, they all felt a little nervous to accidentally mess up and not have Gonta's outfit ready in time. But arguably, this had motivated them all, even Tenko joined in to help, and Tsumugi put her problems of Rantaro away for this week only, all of Class 79 wanted to make it a great first Christmas for Gonta.
And, well, it might help Rantaro to become the Ultimate Big Brother after all.
