Work Text:

Riki never liked the holidays.

Sure, it was a time to bond with your loved ones, to eat your favorite dishes with them, to open gifts you’ve long wished for, and to see their radiating smiles as you wait for the clock to strike 12 and to shout “Merry Christmas!”

It was the opposite for Riki.

Holiday season meant non-stop schedules and endless waves of exhaustion. And to top it all, he couldn’t see his family.

Lucky for his members, whose hometown was just a bus ride away (except for Jaeyun and Jongseong, who usually tagged along with the others or had their own agendas), Riki couldn’t go back to Japan without worrying about a schedule for the next day.

And thank god for their company, who gave them a few days off during the holidays. His members were now planning on what they wanted to do the moment they stepped into their hometown. Heeseung offered to tag him along, but Riki just stifled a small smile, refusing his offer.

And in the end, he was left all alone in their dorm. Maybe he’ll just order some take-aways when he wakes up.

“Not like that! Have you read the instructions?”

“Gosh, I don’t know! How about you try it?”

“Fine, give it to me.”

Riki was woken up by the loud voices ringing outside of his room. He was sure that his hyungs were out, he even saw them off last night. So who was out there, raising their voices as if they were fighting?

Riki lazily got out of bed, rubbed his eyes and fixed his beddings. He then slipped into his flip-flops and opened the door, only to be welcomed by his two boyfriends , who were currently bickering.

“See, you’re not even doing it right!”

“Shush, I’m doing what this website says.”

“But it’s not—”

“Sunoo hyung? Jungwon hyung?” Riki calls out, making the two stop in their tracks and turn their heads around.

“Oh, you’re awake now,” Sunoo says, hurriedly taking off his gloves just to run towards Riki as he hugged him and patted his head.

“Mmm, yeah. You guys were loud.” Riki snuggles into his lover’s neck, inhaling his sweet vanilla scent, something that he was obsessed with when they started dating.

“Were we? We’re sorry, baby.” Jungwon coos at him, rubbing his back. He knows that their youngest likes it whenever they give him back rubs. “We tried preparing sushi for you and since we didn’t know how to do it, we had to consult the internet and well… it isn’t going exactly as we wanted it to go.”

“You’re what?” Riki asks in surprise as he pulls away from Sunoo. He just expected to wake up alone in the dorm, planning to order some Japanese food from his favorite restaurant. He definitely did not expect the stunt his boyfriends pulled.

“That’s right!” Sunoo grins. “We just went out last night to buy the ingredients, then we went back here when you were already asleep. Luckily, we woke up before you did, so...”

Jungwon nods in agreement. “We wanted to make this year special for you, since it’s our first time to spend the holiday season as boyfriends!”

Riki hugs the two of them, and silent sniffles could be heard, worrying Jungwon. “Baby, are you crying?”

The youngest shakes his head. “No, I’m just… really lucky. God, how did I even manage to bag two pretty and loving boyfriends?”

“Being cheesy doesn’t suit you, baby,” Sunoo ruffles Riki’s hair, teasing him, which earned a soft shh! from Jungwon.

Riki glares at Sunoo after hearing those words. “Fine, you’re out of the picture. I only have one pretty boyfriend and his name is Yang Jungwon!”

“Hey! Take it back right now!” Sunoo chases the youngest as he runs off, continuously teasing him. Jungwon is left where he stood, looking endearingly at his boyfriends and laughing at how they profess their love to each other, by bickering. He likes to think that the three of them are lucky to have each other as their lovers.

Riki’s eyes were now drooping as soft laughters from his older boyfriends echoed around the room. They were currently watching the fourth Home Alone movie, which was requested to be put on the television by Sunoo. It was something he liked to watch when he was younger, and reliving those memories with his lovers was more than he could ask for.

“Riki? Love?” Jungwon called out to the youngest once he noticed that he wasn’t laughing or reacting to any of the scenes shown in the television. He feared that Riki had fallen asleep in the middle of their movie night and as he took one glance at him, he was right.

Riki rubbed his eyes half-asleep, humming sleepily. “Why?”

“Are you sleepy, love? We’ll go to bed now,” Sunoo proposes. It was already 11:42, and they were just staying up to greet each other a “Merry Christmas!” once the clock strikes at midnight, but it seemed like their youngest couldn’t stay up longer.

“It's just a few minutes before Christmas, right? Can we still stay up? I promise to go to sleep after midnight," Riki pleads with a pout, oh the pout that always gets his boyfriends weak in their knees everytime. Jungwon even joked once that if Riki didn't stop pouting at him every time the youngest wanted something, he would probably be on his way to the hospital.

Jungwon sighs. "Fine, but just stay here, okay? I'll just get something." He dashes off to their room, as if he was in a hurry. Riki didn't pay it any attention, but instead he just snuggled close to Sunoo, enveloping himself in the older's warmth.

After a few minutes, Jungwon came out of the room holding a small jewelry box, wrapped in a tiny red ribbon. Riki didn't notice it at first, until the older man stood in front of him. "Riki? Baby?"

Riki hums as he looks up at his boyfriend, only to notice the box Jungwon clutched in his right hand as he gave it to him. "Oh, what's that, hyung?"

"Why don't you open it, baby?" Sunoo says, a wide smile painted on his face.

Riki was puzzled at his boyfriend's actions. "Don't tell me you guys got me a gift?"

Jungwon giggles. "Just open it, dummy."

Riki grabs the box from Jungwon's hand gently, untying the red ribbon. As the ribbon fell to the floor, Riki closed his eyes, slowly opening the jewelry box. Once he opened his eyes, he was greeted by a shining silver necklace of his signature, lying prettily on the cushion.

"Oh my god," Riki gapes, still amazed at the necklace his boyfriend (or boyfriends) gifted him. "This is so pretty, hyung! Thank you so much!"

He stands up to embrace Jungwon, his smile never leaving his lips. Jungwon hugs him back, satisfied at the fact that their youngest liked their gift.

"Don't only thank me, you should thank Sunoo hyung too. It was his idea to put your signature as the pendant." Jungwon says, smiling at their other lover who was now standing up and smiling back at them. Riki then pulls away from the hug, only to engulf his oldest lover in an embrace too.

"Sunoo hyung, thank you so much for this. I love this necklace, it's so pretty." The youngest said, as he buried himself in Sunoo's neck, something that he liked to do as a way of showing his affection to someone, especially to his lovers.

Sunoo patted Riki's head. "I'm glad you liked it, baby. Let us put it on you so we could see if it would fit you, yeah?"

Riki pulls away from the hug, nodding enthusiastically. He gave the box to Sunoo, who did the honor of putting the necklace on the youngest. Once he was finished putting it on him, Sunoo and Jungwon stopped to admire the sparkling piece of jewelry that hung around their youngest lover's neck.

"It's so pretty."

"It suits you perfectly, love."

Both of Riki's boyfriends mumbled, which made his cheeks tint pink, getting all shy from the compliments he received.

"Oh, before I forget!" He says, as if something important popped into his mind. "How about you though? Do you guys also have a necklace like mine? I mean, I can't be the only one who has this."

Jungwon giggles. "Do you remember the time when you got sulky over me and Sunoo hyung having matching necklaces?"

Ah, of course. Riki remembers it very well.

It was during the practice for one of their year-end performances, when Riki noticed something dangling on Sunoo's neck, which seemed to be a necklace with his signature. He paid it no mind, thinking that it might've been given by a fan during one of their fansigns, not until he saw a similar necklace on Jungwon's neck, but this time, it was the leader's signature. Riki felt his heart sting as he looked at how shiny the jewelries were displayed on their neck, and he felt left out. Had they bought each other those necklaces and customized it without including me? That's unfair!

"We bought one for you too, love," Sunoo explains, seeing the sour look on Riki's face. "We just kept it up to this day because it was our Christmas gift for you."

Riki felt his eyes threatening to shed a tear once again, and so he wrapped his two boyfriends in a big, tight hug in an attempt to hide his crying face. "Oh god, I'm so lucky to have the two of you. I love you, hyungs."

The two of them smiled, with Sunoo patting Riki's head and Jungwon rubbing his back. "We love you too, baby."

And while they basked in each other's warmth, they heard a loud ting! from their clock, signaling that it was already midnight, and it was now Christmas.

Jungwon was the first one to pull away from the hug. "Merry Christmas, my loves."

"Merry Christmas to us!" Sunoo greets, also patting Jungwon's head.

"Merry Christmas, my hyungs!" Riki says, a wide smile painted on his face. "Thank you for celebrating the holidays with me and for the prettiest gift I ever received. I'm sorry that I didn't prepare any gifts for you two."

"Don't worry about that, love," Jungwon rubs his back once again. "Being able to see you smile and laugh together with us is the most precious gift we can ever ask for."

"He's right, baby," Sunoo agrees. "We're glad that we livened up your holidays. We know how hard it is to be separated from our family, and we don't want you to be lonely during the holiday season. I'm so happy that we chose to spend the holidays with you for this year."

Riki pouts. "Stop making me cry, hmph."

"Oh, is our baby crying?" Jungwon asks in a teasing manner, which earned a whine from the youngest. "Just kidding, love!"

"Wait, aren't you guys going to visit your families though?" Riki asks. Just like him, it has been long since his two lovers met their families, and he feels a little guilty for taking their supposed family time.

"That's why we should head to bed right now!" Sunoo answers, confusing the youngest.

"Hyung, you should clarify it!" Jungwon says, pitying Riki who was now displaying a 'what do you mean?' look.

"Alright," the oldest man giggles, "we're going to visit my family tomorrow. You, me, and Jungwon. Then on the next day, we're going to visit Jungwon's family!"

It was a shock for Riki. Of course, he met his lovers' families, but only as Ni-Ki the ENHYPEN member, and not as Nishimura Riki, the boyfriend of both Kim Sunoo and Yang Jungwon. Polyamory wasn't really that common in Korea, and Riki felt that his lovers' families would have a hard time accepting them.

Jungwon must've noticed the worrying look on Riki's face, because he pulled him into a tight hug and softly rubbed his back. "Don't worry about our families not liking you, baby. They're excited to actually meet you two as my boyfriends!"

"Same here!" Sunoo inserts, hoping to give some sort of encouragement to their youngest. "My family's actually excited to meet my two boyfriends, so I doubt that they won't like you."

Riki pulls away from the hug to look at his lovers. "Really?"

"Do we look like we're joking, baby? I feel hurt." Jungwon says, with a hint of sarcasm in his last sentence and with matching action, his hand on his chest, as if demonstrating that his heart was in pain.

"No, hyung! It's just," Riki sighs, "I know I've said this multiple times, but I'm really grateful for the two of you. I can't believe that I have two pretty loving boyfriends to the point I think I'm heaven's favorite."

"You're heaven's favorite, that's no doubt, but you're also our favorite, baby." Sunoo says, patting his head. "We're so grateful to have you in our lives, too."

"Hyung's right. We're grateful to the heavens for bringing a Nishimura Riki in our lives. It may sound cheesy, but it's true." Jungwon says.

"Hyungs! Stop making me cry," Riki pouts as he snuggles himself on Sunoo's neck, with Jungwon coming to hug the two of them.

"Did we make you cry? I'm sorry baby," Sunoo apologizes, still patting the youngest's head. "Anyway, let's get you washed up now? We have to wake up early so as to not miss the first bus."

Riki hums in an endearing tone, which makes both of his lovers' hearts melt. "Alright, but let me stay here first? You guys feel warm."

Jungwon tightens the hug, still smiling. "Alright, let's stay like this for a while."

The three of them breathe in silence, with Riki buried in Sunoo's neck, Sunoo patting his head, and Jungwon snuggling himself in Riki. They think they could stay longer in this position, with their bodies keeping them warm, and their love keeping them alive.
