Chapter Text
“Oi, Wil, Tech! You’ve got to come check this out!” Tommy’s yell rang throughout the other side of the woods.
“Okay, okay- We’re coming! Give us a moment!” Wilbur’s laugh came from behind Techno, a steady, northern breeze whistling between them in the early morning.
After a minute or so, the two finally saw what the thirteen-year-old was looking at- or rather standing in the middle of. It was a prosperous field of nothing but a luminous sunrise and the blooming of roses and the smoothness of pink tulips. Techno never really had the opportunity to stop and look around him. All those years of destruction and now here he sees creation.
“This is awesome! We need to explore more often- I mean look at this bug! Or the gigantic ball of fire that’s rising! This is gorgeous- how are you two not blown away by all this nature??” Tommy bounced and leaped around the towering grass, looking at anything of interest to him. Techno would even go as far as saying the grass matched Tommy’s own lanky figure.
“Well Toms, you weren’t attacked by a thorn bush.” Wilbur emphasized this by plucking a thorn out of his pant leg.
“Just stop walking into bushes. Really not that hard, Wil,” Techno added, montone as ever.
“Oh- gee- thanks Techno. That solves absolutely everything now! I’ll just not walk into a thorn bush!” Wilbur rolled his eyes, trying to maintain a look of faux annoyance. For the most part it worked, but as soon as Tommy’s boisterous laughter filled the dewey, morning air up ahead, Wil cracked and Techno smirked, both letting out puffs of laughter. That boy was as bright as the sun with his fiery, golden hair and gregarious mannerisms.
“Yeah, Wil! Just stop being so clumsy. It’s not that- Whoa! The sun’s almost done rising, guys! Sit over here with me! And hurry! I cannot bear you slowpokes one second longer!!”
