"(Y/N), come here," Childe said soothingly, his voice like velvet as his words wrapped around you like a blanket, his arms shortly following. HIs strong arms enveloped you in an embrace, warm and comforting. He pressed his lips ever so softly to your watery eyelids, first one and then the other. "It's going to be okay, I've got you," he said, pressing soft kisses to your nose, your temple, anywhere on your face he could reach except for your lips. He kept his kisses away from your lips to focus on your well-being and comfort. You felt so safe, so loved in his embrace; you knew things would be okay. You never asked him too, but you knew he did so much to protect you, to keep you safe and free from harm and danger.
"Will you... kiss me?" You asked, meeting his cerulean eyes through your blurry, teary ones. Even through tears, his eyes looked so beautiful, depthless pools of an array of blues. Many people described his eyes as lifeless, but you never understood what they meant. From the first time you met him, you could see the years of pain, of triumph, loss, and love that his eyes held.
Gently, Childe cupped your cheeks in his hands, your tears spilling over his fingers as he inched forward, his eyes searching yours. HIs thumbs gently grazed the top of your cheeks, wiping away tears in the process. His lips pecked the tip of your nose once, twice, before softly pressing his lips to yours.
Your face still nestled in his hands, his lips met yours ever so softly, just barely moving. His lips, his touch felt so tender, so loving, you could feel the pain start to drift itself away in his embrace. Childe's pillowy lips felt so soft against yours, so perfectly maintained even though he constantly spent time in the cold. You craved his kisses more than you even craved your favorite foods, always wanting more and more of them.
One of Childe's hands slid downwards to wrap his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him and on top of his lap, the other firmly set on caressing your cheek. You smiled against his lips at his strength. He could easily throw you around like a rag doll and he wasn't afraid of using that strength, yet he always managed to never hurt you, being gentle enough to make every movement feel smooth and comfortable.
The warmth of his arms, his touch, his kiss warmed you to the core in the cold of the nighttime, snuggling even closer to him. You wrapped a blanket around the two of you, as if to make you even closer, melding into one being. Respecting your boundaries and your current state, not once did he try to take things further or deepen the kiss. His kisses were like a small flame, simmering gently. Still passionate and loving, but never once growing wilder or out of control. Occasionally, Childe broke the kiss to pull back slightly, kissing the tears from your eyes if any remained, and to look at you, smiling up at you. "I love you," he'd whisper before pressing his lips back to yours once again.
Your fingers intertwined through his soft, ginger locks and Childe sighed happily against your lips. You continued, massaging his scalp, working your fingers from the front to the back.
He pulled away, pouting slightly as he met your eyes. "Hey, this is supposed to be about you," he whined, gently removing your hands from his hair. Childe lifted himself from the couch, guiding you to lay on your stomach on the couch the two of you shared. You could feel him sit himself on your bottom, leaning forward until his hands reaches your neck, gently squeezing and kneading the skin there. A soft whine escaped your lips as his hands traveled downwards, hitting your upper back and releasing the tension from the areas you hadn't even known had been tense. Once again, Childe managed to apply just the right amount of pressure to relieve the tension, but not too much that it hurt.
By the time he reached your lower back, you'd felt your body relax completely, all tension and stress relieved from it. You didn't know at what point your consciousness slipped from you, but it wasn't long before Childe heard your soft snores below him.
Childe smiled, retrieving another blanket that lay on top of the couch, draping it over you. He thought about carrying you to the bed you shared, but instead decided to leave you as you were, so peaceful and content. He didn't dare wake you in this state, not after the day you had. Softly, careful not to wake you, he carressed your face, brushing a loose strand of hair from your eyes. Childe leaned in and pressed a kiss softly to your forehead. "Goodnight my love," he purred before sinking into the chair next to you, book in hand. Conscious or not, he'd be there when you woke. With him, you'd never have to be alone.
