Work Text:
In the universe that our mission continues the fleet of ships were propelled by the ejected matter and radiation of the induced supernova catching in the EM shield strung between their deflector dishes like a Tholian Web. They sailed out of the warped void left by a centuries old Omega particle decay and on with their lives.
In another tributary of time, space, and causality the fleet was saved by a desperate sling shot around the dying sun. Flung back in time to set a warning for themselves, averting the disaster before it even happened. In that reality the fleet needed to remove themselves from the timeline they were now causing a paradox in.
Self-destruction in t minus 12 hours
"We have given permission for inter-ship travel, if crew have people stationed on other vessels that they wish to spend their remaining time with" Captain Lusar addressed her crew through the ship's comm, "you may all now consider yourself at liberty. Lusar out."
The Captain settled herself in her chair, apparently to contemplate the void and eternity.
"If I can be excused please, Captain, there's someone on the Odin I need to see" Lt Cela was already moving out of here seat and towards the nearest door off of the bridge.
Yasha cast longing eyes at Susan as the commander turned to the captain and said, “I would be honoured to stand the last watch with you captain, but I have twelve hours left,” Her gaze turned to Yasha, “and I know exactly how I want to spend them.”
With a nod to the captain she stood and swept off of the bridge, catching Yasha’s arm as she passed the tactical station and pulling her in her wake, like the most willing of asteroids caught in a comet’s wake. As the bridge doors closed behind them Yasha felt she ought to at least say something.
“Your place or mine?”
Smooth, Tarr, it’s amazing that everyone doesn’t fall at your feet with wit like that. Fortunately Susan just let out a beautiful warm laugh and pulled them both into her quarters. The instant they were truly alone Yasha’s back hit the wall as Susan rumbled, “I’ve been planning this for some time.”

“Where on Earth did you learn to do that?”
“Well certainly not on Earth, shore leave on Betazed, if you must know.”

“Not too tight?”
“No, perfect, thank you”
Self-destruction in t minus 2 minutes
The comfortable press of skin to skin, their limbs entwined, hearts beating against each other.
“The perfect way to spend my last few hours.”
“I certainly can’t think of anyone I’d rather spend it with.”
