Chapter Text
It was the last day of school! Finally Marinette was free of one of her troubles, as she would no longer have the stress of schoolwork on her plate besides her work saving Paris as Ladybug. She and Alya were walking out of school, discussing some of their summer plans, when they over heard Adrien on the phone with his father.
"Father, why must we go to Japan so soon? The school year just finished, and I was wanting to hang out with my friends... I guess I'll talk to you when I get home," Adrien sighed.
"Adrikins!" Chloe squealed as she ran up to him. "You're coming to the class picnic tonight right?"
"I don't know, Chloe. I wish I could but my dad wants me to pack so we can leave tomorrow."
"Well I wish he would change his mind, so that you could go!" She said as she trotted off. And with that, Adrien got into the car with his bodyguard and away they went.
"So Adrien is leaving for Japan with his dad tomorrow, and he's not going to even make it to the picnic. This is terrible!" Marinette said.
"I'm sure you'll figure something out. Who knows, maybe you'll go to Japan too," Alya smirked.
"What do you mean by maybe I'll go to Japan too?" Marinette asked.
"Nino entered a DJ contest, and won! The prize was a trip for four to Japan! So Nino and I wanted you to come along. And don't worry, my mom is coming along to chaperone," Alya excitedly told Marinette.
"Well Alya, I love that idea! I'll have to check with my parents to make sure they're okay with it, but since your mom is coming, I'm sure it'll be fine." Marinette said as she and Alya parted ways to go home.
"See you at the picnic!" Alya waved.
"See you then!" Marinette exclaimed, barely containing her excitement.

Meanwhile at the Agreste household Adrien was trying to convince his father and Natalie that he could go to the picnic and still be packed to leave for Japan.
"Natalie, would it be okay if I go to a class picnic this evening? I'll get everything packed before I go to it." He pleaded.
"I suppose it would be okay, but you should check with your father first," Natalie responded.
"Thank you, Natalie," Adrien said graciously and then he hurried up to his room to pack.

Marinette couldn't wait to ask her parents if she could go to Japan with Alya and Nino. Especially because Adrien would be in Japan too, but she would fail to tell her parents that part.
"Mom? Dad? Can I ask you something?" She asked.
"Yes, Marinette," her mom said.
"Can I go to Japan with Alya and Nino? Alya's mom is going to come too."
"I don't see why not," her dad said, "but how will you afford a trip to Japan so soon?"
"Nino entered a contest and won. The prize was a trip for four to Japan."
"Well, I guess you can go. But be careful and don't go off alone," he mother said.
"Oh thank you guys so much!" Marinette said as she hugger her parents and then she scurried up to her room to pack and get ready for the picnic.
When Marinette arrived at the picnic, she quickly found Alya to tell her the good news. "My parents said yes!"
"Girl, that's awesome! Now you better spend tomorrow packing, because we leave on Saturday!"
"I really hope we'll find Adrien while in Japan. It's really sad that he couldn't be here tonight," Marinette added.
"I'm sure we will, and I'm sure everything will be fine," Alya reassured her.
As soon as Alya said that, Adrien showed up to the picnic. Other than Chloe being Chloe, the picnic went smoothly.
