Chapter Text
"Wow, I didn't think I'd want to see snow again after coming back from the Never Realm. But it seems so much more peaceful here, especially when all the trees are covered up with lights and it really brightens up the night." Lloyd remarked, relaxing by his bedside window, his tail drooped to the ground and his floppy ears resting on the sides of his head. "Hey Kai, what was Christmas like back in Ignacia?"
The green ninja's boyfriend had just arrived, carrying a tray full of freshly baked double chocolate cookies. "Shaped like gingerbread dragons, since you don't like ginger in desserts." He purred, cuddling up beside Lloyd. "Zane handled the dough while I decorated this little pair right here."
"Aw, you really shouldn't have. But did you hear what I asked you?"
"Huh? Oh right! Nya and I didn't have a lot growing up, but one thing we could look forward to every year was when the entire town would build what we call the Festive Dragon. A huge ice sculpture that could be seen from the rice fields is built in time for Christmas eve and is decorated with all sorts of colourful lights! I remember one time one of the wings ended up falling off, poor Nya fainted when she saw that. It's too bad they stopped doing it years ago, got replaced with some neon light show which doesn't look nearly as cool!" Kai exclaimed. "I wish I could have taken you to see it."
Taking his hand, Lloyd gave his boyfriend a small kiss on his cheek. "You know, we could always make our own little Festive Dragon right here in the monastery. My element is like a light show right? And I happen to be a quarter dragon." He purred, his tail flicking against the fire ninja's hip.
"Heh, you want me to wrap you up in lights and put you on the roof?"
"Why not? What's the worst that can happen?" Lloyd giggled, pulling Kai into a hug. "If we get tangled up it'll be a good excuse for us to snuggle all night."
---
"Just WHAT were you both thinking!?" Wu grumbled as he struggled to get the tangled lights off of the couple. "Do you not realize that you could have been electrocuted, or suffocated from the wires going around your neck! I expected this sort of behavior from Jay, not from someone mature like you!"
"What can I say? Kai's a bad influence." The green ninja giggled, brushing his face against Kai's neck. "I wanted to be his festive dragon."
"And you chose to do this when you could have easily just made a snow sculpture? I swear to FSM.."
The couple continued to ignore Wu's constant ramblings about how irresponsible they were, wanting to enjoy their moment together covered in lights. "Green suits you well, Kai. How about next year we try doing this on our elemental dragons?"
