Sonic watched the leaves fall from the trees. Autumn was his favorite season. There was something about it that was intoxicating to him. "Sonic?"
He turned around to see Shadow. "Shadow! Nice to see you, dude." He nuzzled himself into Shadow's neck.
Shadow growled. Why was Sonic so touchy lately? "You okay, Sonic?"
Sonic let out a laugh. "I'm fine, sweetie."
Shadow furrowed his eyebrows. "Sweetie?"
Sonic looked up at him. "Would you prefer me calling you something like angel or darling more?"
Shadow sighed. "Why so much PDA lately? I thought you didn't like that stuff."
Sonic smiled. "Well, no one has said anything bad about us being together, so I think it's okay to do now." Shadow held him close. "Shadow?"
Shadow laughed. "Always putting others' opinions and what they need or want before yourself. You're so sweet, baby."
Sonic felt his face flush. "Shads..." He buried his face in Shadow's chest. "I love you."
Shadow petted the blue hedgehog's quills. "I love you too."
