Work Text:
Apollo sat at his desk, waiting for a client to visit the office. He needed to solve a case. He was itching to help defend someone.
"Help!" A young woman with brown hair burst into the office. "My name is Alita Tiala, and my fiancee has gotten arrested for murder. He needs a lawyer."
Kristoph looked over at Apollo. "I think you should take the case. You've more than proven that you're ready."
Apollo nodded and shook the lady's hand. "I'm Apollo Justice. I'll do everything I can to prove that he's not guilty."
Her attention turned towards Kristoph. "Why don't you tag along? It would be good to have another pair of eyes scan the evidence too."
Kristoph thought about it for a moment. He hadn't "tagged along" in an investigation in a long time. Maybe it would be a good idea. "I'd love to."
Alita took Kristoph's hand. "Come on, you two. The trial is tomorrow, and you'll have to convince the prosecutor to let you investigate. I'll be at his house nearby with his mother and father." She led them to the People Park area. "Please, try your hardest." She ran across the street into the manor.
Apollo stood there, not sure what to do. Kristoph laughed. "I think that's our cue to start investigating."
He got a nod in return. "I wonder who the prosecutor will be. Hopefully, they're as incompetent as that Winston guy. He wasn't smart and didn't know what was happening most of the case."
Kristoph nodded. "Prosecutor Payne was never fully there."
Apollo laughed. "I can tell."
"Kristoph, is this the employee that you were talking to me about the other night?" Apollo looked around. A blonde twenty-something-year-old bounced over to them.
Kristoph sighed. "Please tell me that you're not prosecuting the case, Klavier."
Klavier let out a fake gasp. "Dear brother, how could you show such distaste for me, your brother?"
Kristoph rolled his eyes. "Klavier, stop. We are here to investigate. Apollo has taken on the case. That is all."
Klavier sighed. "Ach, always one for taking the fun out of things. Go ahead, investigate your heart out." The blonde man went over to a motorcycle. "Mein Gott, mein poor liebling, you're not running right. I think I'll have to take you back to the mechanic." He managed to get it to run and headed off.
Apollo blinked a bit. "That was your brother?"
Kristoph sighed. "Yes, he still hasn't matured yet."
Apollo laughed. "At least he has a cute face."
Kristoph shook his head. "We should start investigating, Apollo."
Apollo nodded. "Right. Let's start at the noodle cart."

Apollo yawned. The sun was starting to set. How long had they been investigating? Well, it was long enough. "Apollo, I think it's time to call it a day. I think we have more than enough evidence to get a not guilty verdict."
Something was gnawing at Apollo. "Where were you when I was questioning Eldoon?"
Kristoph laughed. "I was doing background research about that Alita lady; she used to work at the clinic."
Apollo gasped. "No way!"
He received a smile. "Oh yes, Alita did. I think she killed the doctor and framed Wocky."
Apollo frowned. A lady like that would frame her fiancee? "That crazy. Do you really think she did it?"
Kristoph nodded. "Indeed, that's the only thing that makes sense."
Apollo sighed. "It's just... imagine someone you're in love with frames you f-" He stopped himself. Kristoph knew how that would feel. "Sorry, I didn't realize. Um..."
Kristoph sat next to him. "It's alright. I learn to move on in my own time."
Apollo nodded. "I promise you'll find a good person someday."
Kristoph smiled. "It might just take a while."
