Christmas Eve

Summary:

"Reim could spend days talking about how annoying and stupid Break is, he could list all the times that guy made him lose his nerves, but he would lose all the words to explain how happy those little moments they spent together made him. How the flour he wastes painting a stupid bear to make him laugh or the amout of sugar he insists on putting to “make the cookies more sweet” was what makes him so… Unique. "

Notes:

Hope you like this gift, Ghost! Merry Christmas!!!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The happy laughs outside showed that kids were still playing with snowmans and snowball fights, good for them honestly, having time and energy to spend playing…. Reim had work to do, not only his, but also the papers that belonged to Xerxes and by the annoying laugh coming from the kitchen soon he would have more work to do.

In reality he was happy to hear that laugh, but sadly he was in a bad mood thanks to a sequence of nightmares… If he closes his eyes the face of a dead Xerxes could be seen…

Anyway, the corporation both of them work decided to closed for christmas festivities, Sharon would come with some friends to celebrate with them, so obviously that dumb man would have fun doing whatever he wanted on the kitchen, to Reim’s terror because later he would had to clean all that mess.

He tried his best to focus on that paperwork, someone had to finish right? They needed money to survive after all, but something breaking made him give up and make his way to save that place.

“What are you doing n–”

To Reim’s surprise Xerxes was… “Fine”. The kitchen was a mess, but he was alive.

“Oh! Reim!” Smiling with a tray of cookies in hand and flour on his face, Break waves to Reim. “Wanna help with the cookies? I think we have enough for a night, but who knows how they’ll taste.”

“... Where are your glasses?”

“....” A smile was the answer.

That guy… He probably lost it again…

With a long and tired sigh Reim decided to give up on those papers. Saving their kitchen was more important than a peaceful day at the company.

“This looks terrible.”

“Really? But I tried to follow your receipt.”

“Go take your glasses then because this isn’t the type of cookie I would make.”

“Tch.”

Break has miopia, he needs the glasses but hates to use it, so he tries his best to “lose” them and Reim -ever since they started living together- had to “find” and force him to use them. Anyway, the cookies.

“Go wash your face at least.” After that Reim took the tray of Break’s hands and made his way to save the cookies.

The problem wasn’t only the shape but Break put too much ginger on it and some… Green substance Reim didn’t want to know what it was. The solution was simple and yet complicated, make a new dough.

“Cleaned and with these stupid glasses, will you let me help~?” Break was in fact with his glasses this time.

“You’ll clean all this later.”

“Of course, dear.”

Reim could spend days talking about how annoying and stupid Break is, he could list all the times that guy made him lose his nerves, but he would lose all the words to explain how happy those little moments they spent together made him. How the flour he wastes painting a stupid bear to make him laugh or the amout of sugar he insists on putting to “make the cookies more sweet” was what makes him so… Unique.

If any day those nightmares turn into reality, Reim would move hell and heaven to bring him back… But for now he would enjoy the good moments and ignore the land of dreams.

“Stop putting sugar on it!”

“But it's supposed to be sweet!”

Hopefully all their friends would survive the night of christmas without eating Break’s terrible cookies.
