Love is like a rushing current. The water is relentless and you can never really stop it, But the stream is easily broken. And when you step back and leave the water alone it settles into beautiful rippling waves. Qibli felt like he flopped into the middle of that stream every time Moon glanced at him. Recently Moon had realized how much Qibli liked to stare at her and she laughed when she caught him doing it.
"Qibli you're doing it again" Moon would say with a fake stern expression. But Qibli still stared at her when he could, looking at her perfectly curved wings and crescent-shaped claws. The silver light that shone from the teardrops that hung waiting to splash onto the ground. Qibli shifted and brought himself to the present as he realized Moon had called his name multiple times while he stared at her.
"QIBLI, for the love of the moons I was named after," Moon said a little exasperated. QIbli blinked
"Yes?" Qibli said innocently Moon shook her head her eyes alight with laughter, actual tears were brimming her eyes from her laughter.
"How in the world could someone as smart as you be this thick?" Moon said through her laughter Qibli joined in his laughter joining hers. Moon flopped onto the ground covering her head with her wings as her shoulders shook. Qibli lay down next to her and made sure she was still breathing, she folded her wings to her side and looked up at him from the ground
Qibli slowed his breathing and found himself staring once again at Moon and everything was right in his world, at least for the time being.
