what’s it like, having a werewolf pine for you

Summary:

Jungkook is courting Taehyung, but he’s oblivious to the traditionals.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Someone like Taehyung would always be considered normal and unexceptional as he’s a human, a quite rare of a species to be found among different kinds of creatures these days.

There are vampires, werewolves, ghosts, merfolks, aliens, banshees, grim reapers, whatever—you name it. Hence why someone like him would always get stared at whenever he goes outside, be it on the streets or the campus because they find it quite jarring to look at someone who evidently doesn’t possess any special traits like they do. It doesn’t help that he’s the only human on campus, too.

But so far no one has bullied him for being the odd one out, so life is good.

“Have you seen the latest Ghostly Gossip?” Jimin asks as he traces his eyelashes with a mascara. It’s funny because the mirror he’s holding doesn’t even show his reflection back.

“You mean Nayeon’s Twitter account?” Taehyung takes a small bite of his burger. “I don’t follow her.”

Jimin huffs. “I’m so fucking done with her these days. I swear it feels like she’s running a Jungkook fan account instead of the university’s rumormonger, ugh. ”

Taehyung isn’t really surprised to hear that. Jungkook is undoubtedly one of the most desired individuals on campus, what with those piercings and tattoos decorating the entirety of his body as if he’s made out of every girls’ wet dream.

His friends had always yapped tittle-tattles about the guy sometimes, how he’s incredibly handsome, dreamy, blah blah blah, how his scent is literally the strongest out of every werewolves in the university therefore making him all the more attractive and appealing. Not that Taehyung could smell it anyway, being a human and all.

“What’s it about this time?” Last time he stalked the Ghostly Gossip, the tweet about Lisa fucking Jungkook and Jongin at the same time had gotten almost twenty thousand likes. “No news on your precious Yoongi?”

“None. Nothing. Zero. Nada. That’s why I’m pissed ‘cause Nayeon just won’t stop updating about Jungkook like he’s the only wolf the campus ever cares about!”

Taehyung snorts. “Relax, buddy. You know Yoongi likes to stay low.”

Jimin lets out a long-stretched whine and plops his head down on the table with a pout, muttering under his breath. “That stupid dog.”

“Look, why don’t you just approach him? Waiting around like this won’t do you guys any good.”

“He’s an alpha werewolf, obviously he’s the one that needs to make the first move, not me!”

Oh right, vampires are always sassy.

Taehyung rolls his eyes and takes another bite of his burger. Thankfully, the creepateria is considerate and serves human food too, because not in a billion years Taehyung would ever eat Tentacle Tapenade or Spooketti Eyeballs or Beastley Burgers —the monster version of human burger and the meat is replaced with a brain instead. Yes, brain.

God, why did he have to be the only human in this place?

He sighs and looks up. His munching stops when he makes eye contact with Jungkook, sitting on a table with his friends twenty feet away from him.

Jungkook is pushing his hair out of his forehead as he looks at Taehyung in between the gaps of his dark curls, and his eyes promptly go wide when he’s caught staring.

The wolf breaks eye contact and swiftly ducks his head down, messing up his hair as if he’s embarrassed.

Taehyung finds the action a little odd, but he doesn’t think anything of it and resumes eating. He has Clawculus class after this.
