Boxing Day.
Christmas had been a long day. Sebastian and Kimi’s kids running around madly, demanding for all their presents to be opened and played with immediately.
The kids had decided that 4 o’clock was an appropriate time to wake up and Sebastian didn’t have the strength to send them back to bed, their faces were all so excited, he really couldn't disappoint them. So he and Kimi sat like Zombies with a hot cup of coffee in their hands as they watched Louisa 4, and Aada 7, absolutely demolish their presents.
Seb’s parents had asked quite a few months ago if they could take the kids on boxing day, Seb agreed. Normally they alternate between Kimi and Seb’s parents, however because of covid and how they’re living in Germany, Seb’s parents have had them two years in a row. Not that Kimi’s parents particularly mind, they’re taking them next summer to Finland for a bit while Seb and Kimi race. They take the kids just to give Seb and Kimi a day off. A day off their both very grateful for.
Seb now, after how mental his kids were yesterday was glad to hand them both off to his parents, with a hug and a kiss. It would give him and Kimi a chance to just breathe.
He’d let Kimi sleep and he’d taken the kids over, planning to crawl back into bed the second he got home. Sebastian would be lying if he said he wasn’t absolutely shattered and waking up at 6 in the morning to send his kids off to their grandparents isn’t exactly how Seb likes to wake up.
He prefers to be woken by Kimi, who normally has a hot coffee in his hands and a soft expression on his face that Sebastian could just stare at all day. Kimi always looks his softest in the mornings, the sleep lines still on his face and his sleepy smile that Seb swears will never get old to look at.
They’ve been together for ten years now and Seb still wants to be woken in the same way, by the same man he absolutely adores. Just waking up like that would be enough of a present for the German.

He placed his car keys on the sideboard and shrugged his coat off, before quietly tiptoeing back upstairs. He opened the door slowly and Kimi was still curled up in bed, an arm subconsciously extended for Seb. The German wasted no time in kicking off his jeans and clambering back into bed with his Finn.
Kimi curled his arm up instantly, wrapping his arm tightly around Sebastian. The German purred, burying his face into Kimi’s warm chest. Sebastian was pressed so close that he could hear Kimi’s heartbeat, a heartbeat he wished would never stop, a heartbeat he wished would keep them together forever.
This was exactly how Sebastian intended to spend his boxing day, stuff traditions. He just wanted to lay in bed with Kimi all day, eating junk food and watching shit TV. He just wanted to be close to Kimi all day.
“I can feel you staring at me…” Kimi mumbled sleepily, rubbing his face and pinching the bridge of his nose.
“The kids get off okay?” Kimi asked and Sebastian smiled, not that Kimi would see it, too dark for that.
“Yeah, they were fine. Happy to spend a day with their grandparents and have a second Christmas.” Sebastian started to trace little patterns all over Kimi’s bare chest as he spoke.
“That’s good…now it’s like the crack of dawn? Should we go back to sleep?” Kimi asked with a yawn, his hands closing over Sebastian’s and holding them tightly.
“Yeah, I tried not to wake you.” Sebastian admitted guiltily.
“I was awake from the minute you left love, can’t sleep without you…” Kimi said adoringly, and Sebastian’s heart just completed melted, squeezing back against Kimi’s hands.
“Well I’m back now, sleep now and then coffee later?” Kimi pressed a sleepy warm kiss to Sebastians forehead. His little way of saying ‘sounds like a plan’.
“Goodnight love.” Kimi whispered, letting his eyes flutter shut again.
“Goodnight.” Sebastian nuzzled even closer to Kimi, feeling content when the Finn wrapped his arms around him tightly.
Yes, this is definitely how he wants to spend his boxing day, wrapped up in the arms of the man he loves.
What can be better than this?
Nothing. Because Seb swears he's never giving this up.
