Work Text:

“Lupin.” Zenigata’s voice came out in a whisper, his mouth dry as he resisted the urge to wet them. Wanting nothing more in that moment than to pull the other man closer to him once more and continue to kiss him.

“Don’t spoil the moment, Pops.” Lupin replied, his voice like honey against his skin. Sticky sweet and wanting to rid the substance from his flesh in any way possible. Words that were clinging to every inch of him and made him want to hold Lupin even closer to him in the hopes that they would never be able to part.

Lupin’s lips snuck passed his, pressing tenderly to the column of his neck causing Zenigata to gasp at the sensation. His heart beating erratically in his chest that for a moment he wondered if he would go into cardiac arrest right there. His limbs felt heavy, as if the wine that lingered on Lupin’s lips had seeped into his bloodstream. He would have to give Lupin credit for the way the man made him feel punch drunk on the very thought of the thief’s lips anywhere near his person.

“There’s no right side to this.” Zenigata whispered, Lupin’s lips pausing in their exploration of flesh. Lupin’s breath ghosted against his hair and caused goosebumps to rise along his arms. How many times had they been down this path? How many times had their lips brushed against each other in darkened rooms and darker alleyways? How many more times was Zenigata going to allow his duty to the law be clouded by the thrill of chasing Lupin’s lips instead of his crimes?

“There doesn’t have to be, Zeni.” Lupin responded, his lips brushing against his ear and sent a shiver down the detective’s spine. “At least, not tonight.” He added, trailing across Zeni’s face until their lips connected once more and Zeni gave a small hum of approval.

Maybe they could figure it out in the morning. And strangely, Zeni found himself at peace with the very thought.
