"First my hoodie, now my ramen, what's next?" cries Kenta, with all the falsified drama in the world. "Stealin' my last name?"
"Ideally," Shun replies. It's several years too late for bad pickup lines, but it's never too late to honestly respond. Shun sits down, taking a giant slurp of noodles. "Though I do think Namiki Kenta sounds better than Date Shun." Kenta is too busy blubbering and wailing that his noodles got pilfered right out of his hands to notice. "What do you think?" Shun asks, though he's still being ignored. He tosses a pillow. "Dummy. Did you hear me?" He speaks loudly to be heard over the emotional cacophony.
Kenta looks affronted at the pillow he'd barely caught. He considers tossing it back, but decides against it. He's not too keen on cleaning ramen off the couch. He purses his lips and then gasps. "You're wrong. Date Shun sounds much better, if I do say so myself." Shun smirks behind his noodles. "Wait, why are you changing your name?" He frowns. "I'm hungry. If only someone didn't steal my entire lunch. You're lucky you're cute."
"Oh, sorry." Shun holds a carrot sliver out to Kenta. "Here, I didn't want it anyway."
Kenta slaps his hand away and pulls a face. "Ew, absolutely not. I hate veggies. Unless they're in yakiniku. Then they're fine. Ooh, let's get yakiniku for dinner!"
Shun raises an eyebrow. "It's your ramen. Why'd you make it, then?"
"Pfff, it's yours now." Kenta pouts and sticks out his tongue, like the responsible full-grown adult that he is. "I'm gonna make more. And you can't have any, 'cause it'll be all mine. So there." He purses his lips again and stomps off to the kitchen, hands on his hips.
"I'll be here," Shun calls. He hears Kenta mocking him and laughs.
Kenta comes back to the living room almost immediately. "Now, wait just a minute, what was that about last names?"
"You started it," Shun replies, looking up at him innocently. "I was just saying, I think you should steal my last name instead. Even though you used that lame pickup line. But sure, I'd be open to stealing yours, too. Like I stole your heart~"
Kenta plops down and squishes Shun's face. "Shun. That was awful. Why don't you leave the suavity to me."
"Ah," Shun pats Kenta's cheek with his free hand. "Is that what we're calling it?" Kenta sighs obnoxiously.
"Why would we? Change names?" Kenta's ramen- and yakiniku-deprived brain simply will not cooperate with him.
Shun stares at him, both fondly and annoyedly, as per the norm. "I don't know, why would two people who live together and have been dating pretty much since high school share a last name?"
Then the lightbulb goes off in Kenta's brain and he grins. "I get it now!" Shun simply nods and takes another bite of ramen. Kenta's stomach grumbles. "Hold on, I said I was making more ramen, remember?"
Shun gives Kenta a little smooch before he stands up. "Well sor-ry I'm such a distraction. Can't help it, really."
"Ya know?" Kenta begins, after studying Shun a moment. "You do look cute in that hoodie."
"Thanks, I've been trying to snatch it for months."
Kenta wiggles his eyebrows, and Shun's head falls back as he groans. "But, you'd look even better—"
Shun held up his hand. "'Without anything', never heard that one before, you dork."
"Come on, man," Kenta whines, complete with puppy eyes. Shun tosses a pillow at him again.
"As tempting as it sounds, you'd nonstop complain about being hungry, and I don't want cold soggy ramen. So, later. Now go." He gestures to the kitchen, shooing Kenta away.
Kenta pulls another face. "You think you'll convince me to take your name with that attitude?"
"Sure do," Shun responds, with another cute but self-satisfied smile. "Now shut up and go make your lunch." Kenta drops his head and trudges off, dejected, as if he'd been banished to the farthest corner of the earth. Shun waves to him as though he's seeing him off to his great banishment, instead of just a few feet. "Love you!"
Kenta scoffs and sticks his tongue out.
