Ganyu could feel that something was on the Captain's mind the second she had seen her at their meeting place. They shared their usual conversation of what they had done the past week over dinner and now as they had finished their food she noticed how Beidou's eye was trained on her like she was waiting for her to say something.
"What is bothering you, Beidou?" She looked down at her shirt, "have I spilled something on me?" The captain simply shook her head, but a smirk pulled on her lips and Ganyu knew she mustn't be up to anything good.
"Your silence concerns me." Beidou still did not say a word, "Beidou! What could possibly have you giving me that look?"
"You like that Fatui boy, don't you?" Ganyu's eyes widened at the question but not faster than her face could explode in a blooming blush.
"I- I have no idea what you're talking about!" She sputtered out, breaking eye contact and her body language made it quite apparent she was in no way telling the truth. In honesty, Childe, the 11th harbinger if the Fatui had become... A close friend to her, she would call it. It started with him visiting her, just once after they met, and then again, always asking her to go somewhere with him, to spend time with him, it took her so long to finally give in and amuse him. But to her surprise, he had shown her something she couldn't say she had ever truly felt before, she had fun. They had gone swimming together, and he had caught a fish with his bare hands, she couldn't describe how pleasant it was to laugh as he pretended the fish was a great creature trying to attack him. They met almost every day since. A smile pulled at her lips at the thought.
"No way! You really do!" The captain threw back her head in laughter, hand covering her eye. Ganyu's blush only spread further over her face.
"It's not what you think! He is just a friend. Truly. He would not think of me like that... Surely not." She shook her head, she was not someone who was thought of like that, she was just Ganyu, just the secretary of the Quxing, nothing more, nothing extraordinary.
Beidou gawked at her, raising a brow,
"You really don't see it?" Ganyu shook her head, "you're hot! You could get anyone you wanted in Liyue! Teyvat even!" Ganyu didn't know who to process the expression, stunned still like a crimson fox in lantern light.
"You've got this handsome young man absolutely swooning over you, go for it! You deserve a little more drama in your life, really." Beidou leaned back in her chair, crossing one leg over the other and tilting her head up, waiting to hear what Ganyu thought.
"Well... I am to meet with him again tomorrow... Maybe," Beidou's eye lit up "Maybe I will bring it up." The brunette laughed with pride.
"That's my girl! You'll have to tell me all about it."
Ganyu left their meeting with a blush still on her face, and brewing ideas on how to even attempt to bring up her feelings.
