[ 10:21 PM - January 2 ]
Kuroo rested his chin on his hand, staring boredly at the many-times-reorganized cutlery as he sipped from his third glass of wine. Honestly, at this point, with how long his supposed "date" was taking, he'd probably be drunk before the date has even started.
Then, a large, vaguely familiar figure slammed through the doors, and loudly asked the receptionist for his table booking.
"You're right.." The receptionist looked around. Then she pointed towards Kuroo. "There. With that lovely man."
"Okay! Thank you!"
The male figure came towards him, unzipping his jacket in the process. Underneath the thick fabric was a nicely tailored suit that looked tight in all the best places.
Kuroo blinked, a name suddenly fitting with the man.
"Bo?"
Bokuto looked like a completely different person, his hair was damp and sat flat on his head, looking like he had attempted to slick it back. There was the slightest hint of golden eyeliner.
The top two buttons of his dress shirt were undone, his three-piece suit looked too tight for him, but he moved so loosely in it, and when he bent over to pick up a coin he had dropped on the floor, it didn't rip.
Hats off to his stylist.
"Tetsu? Why are you here?" Bokuto asked, awkwardly standing next to the table. "I thought this was my table."
"I'm here for a blind date." Kuroo explained. Bokuto perked up.
"You too?"
Then something clicked.
"Wait, do you think.." Kuroo started, squinting his eyes in thought.
"That we're on a blind date.. with each other?" Bokuto finished his sentence.
Both of the men laughed at the absurdity, but it made sense.
"Well, that certainly brings a new meaning to 'kiss the homies goodnight.'" Kuroo said after Bokuto had settled into his chair, opposite Kuroo.
That's right, he and Kuroo were friends. Best friends, actually.
Oh,
They were best friends.
Bokuto chuckled dismissively. "How long have you been here, Tetsu?"
Kuroo glanced at his watch. "An hour and a half?"
Bokuto's eyes widened. "You've been here ever since 9:00? What the fuck. Isn't the reservation at 10?"
"It was at 10? Shit. I thought you were just late."
"I mean-" Bokuto looked at the clock pointedly. "I basically was. By 30 minutes."
Kuroo's eyes creased in the way that looked like he was going to let out a hearty and loud laugh, but instead, a low chuckle- more like a giggle -gently escaped his open, smiling mouth.
God. Dammit. He was so pretty.
"Are you hungry?" Bokuto asked, using the menu to cover the lower half of his face that was obviously very pink and flustered.
-×.-×
[ 12:19AM - January 3 ]
Kuroo had stumbled out, all over Bokuto. Bokuto repeatedly apologized to the restaurant staff after Kuroo had accidentally banged his head on the table while a waiter was pouring wine, and spilled the contents of the glass all over the table.
Kuroo had hit his head so hard, however, he lost 3 of his 6 senses. That didn't help that he was half-drunk too. How do you get drunk at a restaurant?
"Are you sure you don't have a concussion, Tetsu?" Bokuto said worriedly, keeping the male on his feet by pulling Kuroo's arm over his neck. "I can take you to the hospital."
Kuroo was barely able to shake his head. "'m fine." He mumbled out in intelligible syllables.
They both slowly made their way to Bokuto's apartment, Kuroo barely being able to walk, but Bokuto being strong enough to hold him up.
When they reached the building, Bokuto bent over, grabbed Kuroo's waist and hoisted Kuroo's torso over his shoulder.
"What the fuck-" Kuroo says, feeling the blood rushing to his head. "What are you doing?!"
"We have to go upstairs, Tetsu! Do you want to walk feeling half-dead?"
Kuroo protested, softly punching his fists against Bokuto's back. It felt like punching a wall. What the fuck. "This makes my head hurt more. Let me down!"
Bokuto hesitantly put Kuroo back on his feet, and let go. Kuroo stumbled back, slamming into a wall.
"See? You can't walk."
[ 12:56AM - January 3 ]
"Bo.. let me go."
Kuroo was now in a princess hold. He protested at first, but then let it go when he realized how comfortable being in Bokuto's strong arms was.
Now they were at the door of Bokuto's apartment, Bokuto gently let Kuroo down. Kuroo had regained some of his balance, atleast, and leaned against the wall as Bokuto fumbled through his mess of keys in the faint light.
"Here we go," Bokuto breathed out, turning the key in the keyhole and held Kuroo's hand as he pulled him inside.
The man almost fell over, but Bokuto had quickly wrapped his arm around Kuroo's waist and pulled them close together.
Oh no, eye contact.
Kuroo stared at Bokuto through a daze, examining every feature of him. Bokuto had a sharp and defined jawline, most likely a result of training, but his face softened his features. He had lovely large, golden, round eyes, settled underneath concerned Gray eyebrows.
He had a button nose. Bokuto had a button nose. Kuroo was in love with Bokuto. Bokuto was so cute.
"Tetsu?" Bokuto said, worriedly.
"Bo," Kuroo breathed out. "Hi, Bo."
A smile bloomed on Bokuto's thin lips. Kuroo felt like he was going to blow. "Hi, Tetsu. Are you feeling alright?"
Kuroo blinked. "I think so. You alright?"
"Yeah."
Kuroo, using the moment, hesitantly pressed their foreheads together. He whispered sweetly- "That's good. Do you want to go to bed now?"
"Okay."
Bokuto hoisted Kuroo up, letting Kuroo wrap his legs around Bokuto's lower torso and walked towards the bedroom. He gently let Kuroo down onto the bed, underneath the covers, and helped him take his shoes off.
Kuroo snuggled his head into Bokuto's pillow. He snuggled! Into Bokuto's pillow!
"Thank you, Bo."
"You're welcome," Bokuto said softly, brushing Kuroo's hair out of his face as he pulled the covers over him.
Bokuto turned to leave, until Kuroo suddenly said-
"I love you."
[ 9:37AM - January 3 ]
Kuroo woke up with a hangover. A fucking hangover. From wine. Wine! Maybe it was also the mixed pain of his head suddenly colliding with the insanely hard wooden tables.
Whatever the case,
His head hurt.
And it hurt even more if he opened his eyes, even just a little crack, because of the bright light coming through the window. He groaned.
And the worst thing was that he was in the comfiest bed in like, forever. So he couldn't even enjoy it.
"Good morning," Bokuto's soft voice suddenly said. Kuroo would've been surprised if he hadn't heard the slight patter of footsteps. "The blinds are closed now."
Kuroo hesitantly cracked an eye open, sweetly sighing when he didn't receive another wave of intense migraines. "Hi, Bo."
"Was my bed comfy?" Bokuto said, sitting up. Kuroo's eyes shamefully traveled from Bokuto's hair to his chest.
Oh fuck. Oh no. Bokuto was shirtless. (Not that that was a bad thing? He just looked too good. Too good.)
"Very."
"I was just having a shower, I'll stay in bed with you though."
Kuroo nodded, too distracted. Bokuto quickly understood the memo, crossing his arms over his exposed chest.
"Hey! My eyes are up here, you know!"
Kuroo raised his eyebrows suggestively but jokingly. "There are nicer things to look at."
"Ew! Gross, Tetsu!"
"It isn't gross!"
"Whatever!"
[ 10:56AM - January 3 ]
"Tetsu, do you remember what happened last night?"
Kuroo nodded. "I wasn't completely wasted, Bo."
"Well, do you remember what happened after I put you to bed?"
Kuroo's heart stopped when he realised. Oh shit. Wasn't that a dream?
"What did I say?"
Bokuto's lips curled down slightly as he averted his gaze somewhere else. He was so cute.
"You said 'I love you.'"
So I guess it wasn't a dream after all.
"Well.. is that okay with you?"
Bokuto chuckled, a gentle but wide smile blooming on his mouth.
"Yeah. I love you too."
