The Acquisition

Summary:

Today was supposed to be a good day! Izuku and his dad were gonna have lots of fun, they were gonna go meet All Might, and do amazing things they havent done since the doctor told his family that he was quirkless!

If only izuku knew that everything was a lie.

Chapter 1: Being sold

Chapter Text

Izuku was so excited, his dad was taking him out for a car ride! A special car ride that was just between the two of them! They hadn’t done anything really special since that doctor’s appointment. Well, nothing like this. Dad had mostly yelled at him a lot, and tried a lot of things to make izuku “useful.” Some of them were fun, like when dad took him to the ocean and let him swim really really far, or when he took izuku to the woods and they spent an entire week in the woods! A lot of them... weren’t really fun or nice. Like when Dad would take him for “training” or that time mom was away for awhile and dad tried to teach him adult things. That wasn’t fun at all.

His dad promised that they were gonna go somewhere special, to a place where Izuku could meet All Might! Midoriya had cheered with all his six year old might, and his excitement was only just now giving away to boredom. He had been in the car for forever, with nothing but road and farmland and forest and absolutely nothing exciting.

His dad kept on smiling at him, kept on telling him that they would be there soon. He just had to be patient, cause only patient boys got to meet All Might. Izuku was doing his best to be patient, he promised, but it was really hard when he had nothing with him! Not even his hero notebooks! Though he doubted he could add much to his notebooks cause it was just him and his dad in the car, but he could doodle some more of the cool heros! Like All Might! And Gang Orca and the cool new Present Mic and Best Jeanist and Wash and that cool new hero he found late at nights few weeks ago, the one that he has only found blurry videos of, Eraserheard!

But no, he didn’t have his notebooks, didn’t have his old game console, didn’t have anything. It was just him and his dad and the window. His dad leaned over and ruffled his hair, and told him to take a nap. They’d be driving for a while. Izuku nodded, a nap sounded like a great way to pass the time! He’d be well behaved so he’d get to see All Might and it would help him not be so bored! It was the perfect idea!

The sun was setting when Izuku was awoken by the feel of Dad’s car slowly stopping. He blinked his eyes open when he heard dad get out of the car, and he sat up a little higher in the front seat, trying to see what his dad was doing. He dad was talking to some stranger before both of them turned and headed towards the passenger side of the car.

Izuku flinched a little when a stranger opened the door on his side of the car. The stranger was a tall man in a very fancy looking suit. Izuku immediately did not like this man, he felt more dangerous than even Kacchan. More dangerous than the little booms and pops that come out of Kacchan’s hand or the fire that Dad breathes when he’s angry. This suit man... was very very bad.

Izuku struggled just a little as his dad came over and dragged him out of the car, “behave son.” His dad snaps at him, squeezing his arm tighter.

Izuku whimpered, “Daddy, where’s All Might? You said we were gonna go see him. I’m scared.”

Dad chuckles, “It’s alright. This gentleman is gonna take you to see All Might.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“But... he’s scary and I don't like him.”

“I don't care. He’s already paid, so you’re going with him.” Dad growled as he tossed Izuku towards the suit man, ignoring Izuku's cries as he climbed back into his car and drove off, leaving Izuku all alone with the scary suit man.

The suit man was weirdly kind as he manhandled a struggling Izuku into another car. Once in the back seats, Izuku immediately shot off towards the other side of the car, aiming to open the rear passenger door, but the door refused to budge. The suit man had gotten into the front seat, and he chuckled at izuku’s efforts, “the wonders of modern technology, these cars have child locks on them. It’s pointless child, you won't escape.”

Izuku spent most of that car ride crying, whimpering for his dad. For a hero. For All Might. The suit man chuckled darkly at the last mention, “dont worry child, you will get to see All Might.”

Izuku merely sniffled and tucked himself deeper into the back seats.

At some point he must have cried himself to sleep, because when his eyes opened, the car was pulling to a stop in front of a huge warehouse. The sun was already rising high in the sky, meaning izuku had slept through the night. Small blessings, but it also made him wonder just how far away he was from home. Dad had driven him for a few hours away from home, and apparently he spent all night in a car too.

Just... where was he?

Izuku didn't get long to ponder as the suit man parked the car, got out, and then came and opened up the rear passenger door, “it would be pointless to run child, you would not get far.” The man warned as he held out a hand for Izuku.

Izuku took a deep breath, and took the man’s offered hand. He didn't want to do this, he was so scared, he just wanted to go home. This was worse than being at school and having Kacchan and the other students chase him. This was worse than being home alone with dad and his games. This... Izuku didn't know what this was.

As the suit man pulled him out of the car, Izuku made a decision. He would be brave, he had to be brave. Braver than he was when standing up against Kacchan, and way braver than he was when he was home alone with dad. He needed to be extra brave, no, Plus Ultra brave!
