The trip to Stillwater was the result of much nagging by Jack, she was desperate to see the place he had grown up in. The place he really didn’t talk about too much.
He’d reasoned that they could be there and back in a day. Might be good to drop by the store and see how Cal was doing. He wasn’t keen on a trip down memory lane, but at least it would stop Jack from asking. He made sure they stopped outside of Stillwater for lunch, keen to see as few people as possible. Jethro was just finishing up his tour of the town when his phone started to ring. Jack rolled her eyes, sensing an end to their day out. Watching him answer the phone, she quickly worked out it was nothing to do with work. As a frown swept across Gibbs’ face, she wondered what on earth could have elicited such a reaction from him. As he clipped his phone shut, he seemed distant.
“Ok there, Cowboy? she ventured.
Yeah. Need to get going. I’ll explain on the way.”
