Chapter Text
Play dumb. That was the plan that Ranboo had. He was going to go meet Tommy, in person, for the first time. Not that he was going to know that it was him. More of an incognito meet-up.
Tubbo had gone to pick up Ranboo an hour prior, as well as grab pizza as an excuse. Tommy’s reason for absence was that he had to walk the dogs at the nearby park.
He wandered around the park, following the path, until he heard a dog barking, and saw a figure sitting on a bench.
“‘Ello,” he smiled, walking closer. “What are you doing out so late?”
Tommy turned toward him, “Assuming you’re a tourist, I should be asking you that.”
Okay, so Tommy had a direct approach when it came to meeting new people. “Yes, I’m visiting Britain, doesn’t mean I’m a tourist.”
“Okay, American . I’m Tommy.” Was his accent that bland, that it was immediately assumed to be American?
“Mark.”
“So, what’re you doing out here? It’s nearly midnight.”
“I needed to get out of the house, and I like walking at night. Less people.”
“Hang on- Uh, this may sound a bit narcissistic, but do you not know who I am?”
“Uhh, no, sorry. Should I?” Play dumb, play dumb.
“Ye- Y’know what? No, no, it doesn’t really matter, to be honest. All the better, really.”
“Yeah? How’s that?”
“Well, I was going to ask for your number, and I don’t really want anyone else knowing I’m bent,” Tommy smirked, leaning back against the bench. Ranboo gaped at him, mind racing. This definitely wasn’t what Tubbo would be expecting when he thought of this idea as a prank.
It was meant to be a thing to see if Tommy was actually nice to him, and then use it as blackmail that Tommy isn’t such a rude, big man.
But now, he was stuttering, shakily pulling out his phone with a blush. Oh, fuck, he already has my number- “Uhh, my parents wouldn’t want me handing out my number to any random guys I meet, no matter how handsome they are.”
“No, need to explain, man, er... do you have Discord?”
“Oh, yeah, here,” he handed Tommy his phone, letting him type in his username. He noticed that it was his alt, just like his. The only reason he knew that Tommy had an alt was because he accidently showed it while sharing his screen, trying to get help with his homework.
He smiled, hoping to get back to Tubbo as quickly as possible, before Tommy decided to head back.
“I- Sorry, sorry, I should’ve asked first- like, are you..?” He left the question hanging in the air, with an awkward hand movement.
“Oh, oh yeah! I’m- I’m pan.”
“Alright, great, uh, do you wanna grab something to eat sometime? I’m a bit busy this week, but I’ll be free Thursday.”
“Yeah, yeah, that sounds great, Tommy.” He squashed down a grin as Tommy got up to leash Betty again.
“Great, I’ll see you soon, Mark .” And he’d be lying if he said that hearing Tommy say his name like that didn’t run shivers down his spine.
