‘It’s always him who gets all the attention’ Sehun thought glaring as he watched Kai getting cuddles from Suho and Lay while getting his hair played with by Xiumin on the sofa since they finished their photo shoot already. Sehun was waiting for Chanyeol to come back so he could go.
Even though he was the maknae, Sehun and Kai were quite different. Kai was older but acted more childish and embraced the affection given by their hyungs while Sehun was mature for his age but shy and awkward when receiving affection from his hyungs. He knows they love him but sometimes he wonders if they want a better maknae like Kai and ended up with him. The more he thought about it, the more irritated and upset he got. Though it eventually faded into sadness. What Sehun didn’t notice was that one of his hyungs was watching him.
He was so in his head, that he didn’t realize that Chanyeol was back until he was right in front of him poking his forehead. “Quit it hyung!” Sehun said, swiping at Chanyeol’s hand. “You weren’t answering me when I called. It’s your turn” Chanyeol replied, leaning on the counter next to him.
“O-oh. Sorry hyung. I was just thinking. Thanks for telling me” Sehun replied getting up from his seat and he left the room, causing Chanyeol to watch confused.
“Is he okay?” Chanyeol asked, sitting in Sehun’s old seat. “I don’t know hyung. He’s been distant and not acting like himself lately” Kai replied.
Baekhyun was quiet and Chanyeol thought that was odd. He’s never seen his best friend so silent. “Penny for your thoughts?” He said and Baekhyun sighed. “Sehun isn’t feeling like himself because he isn’t getting any attention, and doesn’t feel loved,” Baekhyun replied. “What do you mean Baek? He knows we love him” Chanyeol said and Baekhyun stood up, causing everyone to look up.
“Be honest when answering. Who acts more like a stereotypical maknae?” Baekhyun said and it was silent but everyone knew the answer as all eyes fell on Kai. “We are all guilty of it. Kai gets more of our attention than Sehun. He may be mature for his age but he’s still our maknae and wants to be treated and loved like one sometimes” Baekhyun explained and everyone was quiet.
“So what do you plan we do to fix it then?” Suho asked and Baekhyun smiled.
