Work Text:
After another eventful practice, the two first years leave the gym to get meat buns. Once said meat buns are devoured in a record breaking time, the walk to Kageyama’s house continues.
Not a moment passes were Hinata isn’t blabbering on about something he saw in a movie, or how he totally flunked his math test, or how eating meat buns everyday is actually good for your health.
Once they reach the fork in the path, where the couple would usually part ways for the next 12 hours, Kageyama reaches for his boyfriends wrist to prevent him from going down the path to the mountains.
Shocked by the sudden contact, a gasp escapes Hinata, “Kageyama how does it feel to have someone’s wrist to latch on to at any given moment?”
“Shut up you were going the wrong way,”
“I was not! I just uh wanted to see if you would, if you would notice me going the wrong way…”
An unsatisfied expression hung on Tobio’s face as he said, “uh huh sure, whatever you say dumbass.”
With that final statement, Shoyo intertwines his fingers with Tobio’s as they make their way to the (most likely) dark and empty house.

As they take their shoes off, they make their way to Kageyamas bedroom to put their bags down. Pushing each-other the whole way there only leaving a few bruises from the roughness of the shoving.
Once both have eaten, showered and gotten into their pjs, they sat down on the couch in the living room with two cups of oddly coloured drinks that contain too much caffeine for two first years at 10 o’clock at night.
Picking a movie is a lot more difficult then it seems. After many minutes of bickering and arguing over which genre, actors, time period and duration, they surprisingly land on a horror movie from the 1990’s.
A reluctant Kageyama turns off the lights, unhappy with the chosen movie as he hates gruesome, gory, slasher films (despite his slightly unsettling appearance to certain people) and settles down extra close to his boyfriend of 2 months.
“AH PLEASE NO AHHH” The lady in the movie screams as the man chasing her in the maze catches up to her.
“This is so stupid…” an annoyed but also shaking Tobio says from under the blanket, which Shoyo put over him because he couldn’t hide he entire head in the outside of his bfs pyjama shirt.
“Aww it’s okay not everyone can handle scary stuff Tobi it’s okay Shoyo will protect you from the maze man” an amused Hinata says as if he’s performing a play for his swarm of fans from all across the globe.
“Wait, what… DAMMIT”
“What! Why are you shouting?!”
“The movie froze! Tf is wrong with your internet?!” An annoyed Hinata hits the remote against the arm of the couch.
“Maybe it’s a sign?” Tobio asks from beneath the soft blanket.
“What do you mean sign?”
“ A sign to stop watching this bs and go to bed.”
“Fine then you slug! Let’s go to bed.”
“Turn off the tv first…”
“Why?” A smirk worn over the smaller boys face.
The younger one mumbles the reason as if embarrassed.
“Huh?”
“Cause I don’t want to mmmmmmjshshshjs dbbshdb”
“come again??”
“BECAUSE I DONT WANNA SEE THE MAN ON THE SCREEN OKAY!!??”
As soon as Hinata hears this he gets off the couch,“DAMN ALRIGHT WOW” and makes his way over to the tv, flicking the switch turning it off.
“….. is it off?” Asked the blob covered on the seat.
Instead of answering, Shoyo just lifts the blanket off and tugs at his boyfriends hand. This meaning “ open your eyes, it’s off, I wanna go to bed.”
Understanding the message that small action, the blob makes its way out of the living room with his bf by his side.
After a few glasses of water, they run down the hall, Kageyama checking the doors to the house to make sure everything is locked and secured, his parents will be back tomorrow afternoon from visiting one of their relatives.
Brushing their teeth they bicker about who gets the toothpaste first - Kageyama gives in because he can’t help but feel the tug at his heart strings when brown eyes bore into his with a sense of urgency.
With the duvet thrown over them, comfy in the double bed, hands intertwined as well as their legs- such close contact sends both their hearts beating like crazy which is oddly calming as they can feel their partners doing the same- they breath in the comforting smell of each other.
Two pairs of eyes flutter closed after whispers of “good night sho” and “Sleep well Tobi” dissolve in the air, the pair finally drift off to sleep.
Dreaming of spending time together, sometimes on the court or sometimes in each other’s arms knowing that they’re time together is endless, that they're going to last,
That they’re invincible.
