Chapter Text
The first child was only five. He vaguely remembered her crying and clinging to him, but those memory files were corrupted and eventually something snapped. Despite protecting the little girl for three hours, he brought her to Vanessa.
The next day she was just a missing kid in the papers and Freddy hardly remembered her eyes.
The next kid was almost 12… Freddy don’t have enough control so he called in a favor from someone untouched by whatever was corrupting him. Bonnie tried to protect the kid that night and Monty caught them… he… well that was the last time Freddy saw Bonnie. He blamed himself.
And the next day that kid was in the papers too, just another missing add.
Freddy went through the numbers with the next three, then someone knocked him out as they took the last child. He barely remembered the nights following. Sometimes they’d stay inside but if a kid was stuck overnight, they’d be sent to hunt them down. Freddy felt stuck.
They all became faces in the newspaper.
Until her.
Freddy had been chasing her when suddenly she dropped onto his back from something she had climbed that he hadn’t seen. She had used something and pried open the panel in his back. She then took what seemed like a chip and plugged it into his database. His whole world went black
“What-“
“Yes!” She couldn’t be much older than 12 or 13. She had wild, curly, auburn hair and dark brown eyes.
“Who are you? What’s going on here?” He asked.
“I’m Georgia! I snuck in here to try and figure out what’s happening to all those kids. Someone seemed to have messed with your coding, like i suspected, so I used a piece of coding I made to fix it.” She grinned at him. He then noticed that he was laying on the floor.
“Oh…”
“This is so cool! My coding actually worked! I can’t wait to tell my foster brother about this! Maybe I can sell it and-“
“Okay but before any of that, you have to make it out of here.” Freddy was still overwhelmed but he tried to bargain.
“Yea! Oh, I made extras by the way, but they’ll only work on Chica! My dad used to work here until he got fired. Last visitation he told me what he remembered about the coding of you ogs. I used my last three chips to make what I did to fix you… here, take them.” She shoved the last two into his huge bear paws and, after a moment, he put them in his chest cavity. He didn’t say anything for a moment.
“Maybe we could find the new guys, Monty and Roxy, their coding. I could do what I did with yours and work on theirs!” She laughed and he smiled.
“Remember, we have to get you out of here by six before we even think about it.” He reminded.
“Oh, yea, let’s work on that,” she giggled. He rubbed his head in a very human way.
“So Georgia? How old are you? Tell me about yourself.” He offered as he led her towards someplace for them to hide out for a bit.
“Oh! I’m thirteen! I’ve been in the foster system since I was nine. My mom died when I was four and my dad started drinking soon after. I have a little foster brother, his name is Gregory. He’s nine, he’s been in the system since he was four or five… but he’s not really in the system… I overheard our foster parents on the phone… apparently there aren’t any records of him… anywhere… so I thought that if I came here, proved my coding could work, I could sell it and get enough money to get Gregory out of the house…” she smiled a bit.
“Oh…” Freddy was unsure what to say. His natural instinct was to see the story as sad but she was smiling, she was hopeful.
“I’m… sorry?” Freddy was really confused and the girl giggled.
“It’s not sad, don’t worry… I’m happy… plus, I’m here right? I’m completing my goal… soon things will be better… and whatever’s going on here will stop, right?” She looked up at the big animatronic. He smiled at her.
“Yea. And once you and Gregory are safe, come visit me.” Freddy ruffled her hair. She just laughed.
They made it until 5:55. They were waiting for the doors to open when ‘SHE’ came. Georgia was pulled away from Freddy, she screamed and begged Freddy to hide her coding, to protect Gregory, to save her, to make sure this wouldn’t ever happen again. He hardly cared. He just didn’t want her to get hurt. He didn’t wanna fail again, he didn’t wanna loose her,
“GEORGIA!”
Soon even she was yet another name and face in a newspaper, and the last two chips burned holes in his chest.
~~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m so sorry,” someone said over the phone. Gregory watched his foster parents freak out.
“What’s going on?” He asked.
“She snuck out and now… Georgia’s gone, she’s missing,” his foster father was blunt. He even seemed upset when Gregory started to cry.
“No!” The little boy yelled.
“Don’t act so childish Gregory.” His foster mom chided.
“She’s my sister and she’s missing!” He tried to defend.
“She isn’t your anything kid.” Suddenly they seemed angry at him. He didn’t understand.
“But-“
“Hell, guess what kid. We got a call, we were thinking of putting you back into the system but then we got the news that you were never in the system. Would you believe that? Your social worker was fired because of you and we got a call about it, they did more research. You have no birth certificate, no nothing… YOU. DONT. EXIST.” His foster mom had this wicked grin and Gregory paled.
“No-“
“Which means without Georgia, we don’t have any foster children, so get out.” His foster father added and Gregory ran upstairs in a flash. He was immediately grabbed and brought back downstairs.
“Nope, nothing up there is yours if we bought it. You’re leaving.”
“Please! Let me get my Freddy and the shoes Georgia bought me! That’s all I want…” it seems even they had limits of cruelty because he was allowed to grab his shoes and plushy. The shoes were something Georgia had bought him, in a size too big as his size was sold out, when they went to the pizza plex and the bear… it was all he had from his dad.
Gregory soon left and found a place to curl up. He had also been allowed to take a blanket which he now used to cover himself. Beyond that, he had nothing except his memories and the items he’d left with.
“Okay Gregory… you have to be brave for me okay?” His dad was staring at him.
“What’s going on daddy?” He whispered, his voice cracking although his question was answered by the loud noises of the monster in their house.
“One of my friends is gonna come and pick you okay, okay Gregy? Hopefully you’ll be home with me soon after…” he rubbed his sons cheek.
“I’m scared daddy,” the child, only 5, whispered as the car they expected pulled up.
“I know… here, take Freddy… he’ll protect you until I can again.” He tucked the small bear plushie in his sons arms.
“But daddy-“
“Hey Michael!” A woman got out of the car and Gregory watched his dad tense up.
“Will it come after him?” She asked as she got closer.
“Not if he’s not in its way… it wants me… I can tell, our bond is faint but it never was destroyed… do you have everything figured out?”
“Not that it was easy, but yes… damn Michael, did you and your wife really need to make sure your kid didn’t exist on paper?” She scoffed.
“I’m legally dead Kasey. It’s not like him existing on paper would be easy… but it’s safer this way… no one could ever hunt after him…” he comforted his son when he noticed the small boy shaking.
“When will you come back for him?” Gregory started to cry when Michael lifted his son and handed him to his friend.
“As soon as possible… I’ll contact you…” he turned towards the house where Gregory caught sight of the monster. He couldn’t remember that day past this moment but he remembered his dads final words and he remembered the Monsters mask, the mask of a clown.
“Don’t you die on me, Afton,” Kasey warned.
“I wouldn’t dream of it, I can’t join my siblings yet… I’ll come back… no matter how long it takes, I love you Gregory.” Michael watched his sons eyes widen in fear as his father walked back home.
“Daddy!” The little boy sobbed as he was carried to the car. All he had was the clothes on his back and the plushie in his arms.
“We were supposed to have more time… there was supposed to be more time before it came back for him… shit… this is shit… we didn’t have any time to prepare.” The woman sighed.
“So Gregory, I’m a social worker… I’m also your dads friend… he knew that monster was coming back and made sure you’d be safe…I found a nice family to take care of you until he’s back.” She smiled back at the trembling little boy.
“I want daddy…”
“I know kiddo… Gregory, this is important now okay? You can’t let anyone know about your daddy… you don’t have a last name… and you’ll be safe… yiu are wanted and loved.” She sighed.
That was all he was told the rest of his trip to his first foster home.
