The view from the new Jade Chamber was quite gorgeous, Beidou had to admit. Watching Liyue from above definitely had something to it and it was finally catching up with her why it was so important to Ninnguang to be so far off in the sky. The sea looked at peace for now, the gentle waves rockin into the harbor, silvery moonlight reflecting on them. Of course, they all had hoped it would stay that way, but safety was always a first priority, so having millilith guards on watch 24/7, at least for the first two weeks, was a good idea and a precaution.
Beidou yawned, her eyes involuntarily searching for the clock on the wall only to realize there was none. It was still a new room, Ningguang hadn't even moved half of her stuff in here. There were still unpacked boxes on the floor with simple necessities like clothes, cosmetics and, something Ningguang insisted on bringing, her tea cups collection.
Even if Beidou didn't want to admit it, it felt a bit honorable to be sharing Ningguang’s first night here with her. To watch the guards and staff whisper something to each other, when they both walked in, far off too drunk on adrenaline from the fight to think straight and keep their hands off each other.
When Beidou watched men follow Ningguang with their hungry gazes, prying on her long legs and gorgeous hair when she walked down the harbor — all she could think about, was how lucky she was to be the one who took take the Tianquan to bed every night, to be the one who’s name she would moan between their passionate kisses, to know how to make her undone in sheer seconds.
Beidou landed a kiss at the top of Ningguang’s white hair.
— Seeing all of those people sweat their asses so hard just to ask you one question.. — Beidou said lazily, her finger tips tracing Ningguang’s phoenix tattoo, slowly moving across her thigh, — Made me realize how lucky I am to not even have to try.
Ning murmured something quietly into Beidou’s shoulder, leaving a small lingering kiss there, slightly shifting her body, so that she was now even more further buried into Beidou’s chest.
— I can ask you as many questions as I want at any time. — The captain grinned.
The Tianquan frowned, raising on her elbows, so she could face Beidou. The teasing smirk on her face, lips slightly parted.
— And what made you think so?
— You’re saying I can’t?
Ningguang laughed quietly, a sound which suddenly made Beidou realize that she would not be completely against another round. Her girlfriend shifted again, one of her legs dropping between Beidou’s thighs, knee suddenly too close to her core.
She had bit her lip to stay quiet.
— Why should I treat you any different? — Ningguang lifted a finger, frowned her eyebrows. Her gaze was unlingering, serious, it felt like she was staring right into Beidou’s soul, burning a hole into her.
Her fingers traced Beidou’s jaw, moving further to trace her bottom lip. Ningguang suddenly lifted the captain’s chin, forcing their eyes to meet.
— Answer me, Beidou. What makes you so special to receive a different treatment?
Her own name dropped from Ningguang’s lips made her thoughts spin in circles, getting lost even before she could make out a single word.
Ningguang moved her knee further, making the heat between Beidou’s legs now unbearable to ignore.
— I don’t know... Just kiss me already.
She answered slowly, closing her eyes. But Ningguang was a cruel woman, her chuckle echoed from the walls, down the long halls. Her room so big, yet empty, with only a few closets and a desk, a big bed with only them on it. All alone in the coldness of the night. Their bodies intertwined and heated. Ningguang placed a kiss under Beidou’s eye, right where she wore her eyepatch. Then on her cheek, the tip of her nose, the corner of her mouth. Everywhere but where Beidou needed her most.
— But I do..
Ningguang said suddenly. Her voice so soft, so fragile and quiet. Shakiness in her breath as if she was about to cry. Beidou opened her eyes.
— Ning, are you okay? — She said, her hands immediately flying up to her girlfriend's face, stroking her cheeks in a comforting manner.
She nodded, tears suddenly forming in her eyes. Beidou reached to wipe them with her thumbs.
— I love you, Beidou.
Ningguang said quietly. Her voice so soft, her breath shaking, hands trembling, slowly exploring Beidou’s face.
— And that’s what makes you so special.
Beidou kissed her. Slowly, sweetly, lovingly. Hands on her neck, messing up Ningguang’s hair. She needed to make sure Ningguang knew she’s not going anywhere.
Perhaps the whole “new-sea-monster” thing made her too stressed out and worried. And knowing Ningguang, that probably was the case. She was so used to hiding her emotions and maybe the fact that Beidou was almost crushed by the giant wave made her far too worried and love sick for her own good.
And in all honesty, it scared Beidou too. She was close to death so many times before, but for some reason, this one felt different, way too real and dangerous. They had been planning the ambush for months, and of course, were ready for anything, but yet again, no one ever expects to be crushed by a giant tsunami.
Or maybe it was the fact that Ningguang was also there, watching them from far above, unable to do anything or help. Maybe it shook Ningguang to almost witness something she wouldn’t be able to ever forgive herself for. She had always been worried when Beidou went out on her sails, taking a promise from her to return every time. And the captain always promised, sealing her words with passionate kisses and words of love. But for all Beidou knew, that there was no grave which could hold her down, she'll always crawl back to her Ningguang.
— I love you too, Ning. And I’m never letting go, you hear me?
She nodded, pressing her forehead against Beidou’s.
— I know... I know..
Ningguang laid down, head on Beidou’s chest, their hands intertwined. The action which always made Beidou’s stomach filled with butterflies like a love-sick teenager.
Ningguang’s breath caught up to a constant pace, she probably fell asleep. Beidou closed her own eyes, drifting away when a question broke the peaceful silence.
— Will you stay another week in Liyue?
Beidou just nodded. Perhaps she would. Just another week. Or maybe two.
