Chapter Text
Ava smiled as she entered her apartment, the shoes messily dumped next to her neatly lined up ones immediately telling her Sara was home. It wasn’t long ago that the coat barely hanging onto the hooks and the keys that had missed the bowl by the door would have driven her mad but now every little sign of chaos filled her with joy.
“Sara?” She called out into the apartment as she hung up her coat.
“Upstairs” came the response.
Ava smiled to herself making her way over to their kitchen.
“What are you cooking babe?” She asked as she investigated the pot on the stovetop.
“Just some pasta” Ava turned round to see Sara coming down the stairs, her hair wet from a shower, pyjama bottoms already on “Hey you” Sara smiled as she locked eyes with her girlfriend “How was work?”
“Not bad actually” Ava answered as Sara closed the gap between them and wrapped her arms around the taller woman “Gary and Nate actually took a bunch of my paperwork off my plate so I was able to get my budgets finished far quicker than I thought I would.”
“Ooo budgets?” Sara teased leaning up to kiss Ava “I love it when you talk sexy”
“Stop it you!” Ava laughed “And what about you? I wasn’t expecting you home tonight”
“Yeah not bad” Sara said as she untangled herself from Ava and moved to start serving up two bowls of pasta “The mission actually went pretty well, I mean it was kind of an accident but we captured the creature in record time so I put Gideon in charge and came home”
Ava was glad Sara’s back was to her so she didn’t see the goofy smile that flashed across her face when Sara referred to the apartment as ‘home’.
“Here you go my love” Sara handed Ava a bowl as the couple moved to the table to eat.
“Sara Lance cooking the old fashioned way?” Ava raised an eyebrow “I could get used to this”
“Oh yeah, looking for a housewife are we?”
“If it was a housewife I was after I think a Legend would be the last option on the list”
“Touche Sharpe” Sara laughed.
Finishing cleaning up the last dish Ava took her wineglass and made her way over to the couch where Sara was trying to find something to watch. As she sat down the smaller woman immediately cuddled into her side.
“I never would have guessed assassins were so snuggly” Ava smiled as she wrapped her arms around Sara.
“You tell anyone and you’re a dead woman” Sara laughed, adjusting herself to get closer as Ava pulled a blanket around the pair.
“I wouldn’t dare” Ava replied, kissing the top of Sara’s head.
Sara chose a show and the pair settled in for a quiet night.
“Oh I almost forgot” Sara shifted to look at Ava when the first episode finished “I spoke to Oliver today”
“Oh yeah, how is he?” Ava asked “He doesn’t need your help with another crisis does he? I’m pretty sure the Legends are not feeling particularly ‘cross-overie’ at the moment”
“No, it seems relatively chill over there at the moment. Or you know, as chill as Star City gets”
“Good, I don’t want you fighting Nazi’s again anytime soon”
“No we were just having a catch-up” Sara grabbed the remote to pause the TV “I told him about moving in here and he asked if we would go round for dinner”
“Dinner?” Ava raised her eyebrow “With your ex?”
“AND his wife, both of whom are some of my oldest friends” Sara batted her eyelashes “Please, they would love to meet you”
“Ugh fine” Ava rolled her eyes in mock annoyance “To be honest it’d be interesting to meet a real vigilante”
“Hey!” Sara batted Ava’s arm “I’m a real vigilante!”
“Maybe back in the day” Ava smirked “But no real vigilante is this cuddly” Ava laughed as she wrapped her arms around Sara pulling her down on top of her.
