Chapter Text
Vader hesitated for a moment and then slowly offered Luke his hand instead.
The same hand had been extended to him once before - and there had certainly been some emotion behind it last time but this time… this time the bond between them was warm with concern and gentleness.
It felt like a peace offering.
It felt like love.
But more than even that… it felt like a chance. The Force was suddenly alive, ringing with all the new possibilities and futures this moment was creating between them - for them, together and individually, light and dark both depending on their choices, for each other and for the whole galaxy.
Swallowing thickly, Luke reached out and took it.
