Work Text:
Here’s a fun fact about me: my Mind feels like it's split into three!
There's Emerald, who is more logical and feminine; Chara, who is more emotional and masculine; and Kyrie, who is in the middle.
Kyrie is almost always the one in control.
Chara is usually the one who handles emotional moments.
Emerald is usually the one who handles logical thinking.
Usually, Emerald and Chara get along, and everyone is happy!
“How was your lunch?” Asked Miguel.
“Good!” Was Kyrie’s response, recalling hanging out with their friends.
…
“What’s the value of ‘x'?” Coach asked.
“2!” Emerald responded, her voice full of energy.
…
“Are you alright?” Chara asked Nova, noticing his friend’s attitude.
“I’ll be okay.” They replied, shooting Kyrie a smile.
Sometimes, however, Chara and Emerald fight, and Kyrie is stuck in the middle.
‘We can't let our emotions get the better of us!’ Emerald thought.
‘But then we'll do things too logically, because you can't do things any other way!’ Chara replied.
‘Can we please stop fighting?’ Kyrie asked, clearly anxious.
‘No!’ Emerald and Chara retorted, before resuming their argument.
‘...this hurts...’ Kyrie whimpered, curling into a ball.
“He’s shutting down again.” Mom stated, seeing the tears in her son’s eyes despite their efforts to hide, grasping their hair tightly. Daniel could barely hear their mother and father’s conversation over the argument raging in their head.
