It was no question that Yukino admired Lucy. She was pretty, kind, and an incredible wizard. However at some point, which Yukino didn't even know when, they started to see the celestial mage a bit differently. Their heart would beat faster, and they would feel way more nervous than they should when around Lucy.
For a while, they just ignored it, mostly because they assumed Lucy wasn't into girls. It wasn't until they found out from Natsu that Lucy was bi. That bit of information was a game changer for Yukino, honestly. It's also how they got the confidence to tell the other celestial spirit mage how they felt. That day was probably the happiest day of Yukino's life.
"Something the matter?" Yukino snapped out of their thoughts to look up at the blonde. They were both still in their night clothes, and the clock on the nightstand read 9:34 AM. Lucy had her arms wrapped around Yukino, pulling them close into her chest. "I'm fine, love" Yukino responded, snuggling into their girlfriend's chest. Cuddling with Lucy had to be their favorite thing. Definitely their favorite thing.
Lucy ran her fingers through Yukino's silver hair, while using her other hand to caress their back. "I love you" Lucy said, burying her face in her partner's hair. "I love you too, my dear." They muttered into her chest. "We should probably get up," Lucy attempted to sit up, before being pulled right back down by Yukino. "Can we say like this? For just a little longer?" They whispered, almost as if talking any louder would kill them. "Yu, we've been like this for an hour." Lucy tried reasoning, but had no intention of actually getting up, unbeknownst to Yukino. "Please Lu?" They shuffled impossibly closer to the blonde.
"Fine" Lucy gave in, knowing she really couldn't say no to her girlfriend. "I love you, Yu" She planted kisses all over their face, causing them to giggle. "I love you too, darling" Yukino whispered, before falling asleep in their girlfriend's arms.
Yup, cuddling with Lucy was definitely their favorite thing.
