Chapter Text
Hey hey Dravonians ( do, you like the new name? ). So welcome to a prequel to my first GLEE fanfic; Double Trouble. Before we get into this, I need to say that any couple changes made in Maybe baby have been nullified for this fic as it takes place prior to the events of the aforementioned story.
Other than that, please enjoy!
When it comes to power couples many names come to mind; Ross and Rachel, Barney and Robin, Brad and Angelina and of course teenagers and their beds.
However, in sleepy Lima Ohio, one of their biggest power couples were Noah Puckerman and Quinn Fabray. The pair had had an…’’ interesting ‘’ relationship during their McKinley years. Despite being the mother of his child, Quinn had made it extremely clear that Puck was to have no involvement in the raising of the baby. But being the stubborn guy he was, he wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Despite this, over time Quinn grew to be quite fond of the delinquent as he showed her his paternal side when she was with child, to be honest, it was one of the reasons she fell for him in the first place; he could be a really nice guy when he wanted to be. It also helped that he was in the room when she gave birth to Beth.
This was also one of the reasons that she said yes when he asked her to marry him, although he never exactly said it in a romantic way, feelings were never really his thing. To be honest, in her opinion, he asked her as if he was asking her to co-sign a lease with him.
Puck and Quinn had been waiting for this day for a year. It was a standard amount of time to be engaged, and even more standard to plan a wedding. It also helped that Puck still had a few illegal connections to help them with wedding planning.
The pair had settled on a semi-humanist wedding. Instead of getting married in a church like Quinn’s father had always intended for her to.
The venue would be held at an out of state beachside resort. The pair had specifically chosen it for two reasons: 1. The setting sun would be a spectacular sight as they shared their first kiss as man and wife.
The other reason was that it was also the same place where they would be having their reception. As neither one of them wanted to pay huge amounts for a reception that was 10 miles away, they had booked the resort’s function area.
The actual ceremony area was on a sea cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The cliff was quite large in terms of length and breadth. It was at least 164 feet wide and 324 feet long. However, it was not high enough that if someone fell, they would die. It was also located a few meters away from a private beach thus ensuring that privacy would be enjoyed by all.
The pair’s color scheme was silver and white, chairs had been erected on either side of the area with a long silk, silver carpet going downwards. The chairs had also been covered in a velvet white covering. Even their cake was white. A Cadbury white chocolate flavoring accompanied by silver sugar flowers.
One of the only aspects that Quinn and Puck had argued over was what they’d be married under. Quinn wanted an arch as she was still slightly religious, and Puck wanted a chuppah as he believed he was walking a thin line due to the womanizing he did back at McKinley as well as the fact that he had technically committed a mass murder in Helmand after he shot down 12 planes whilst fighting a hangover from the night prior.
Eventually they settled on an arch-shaped chuppah. That way both won and they could stick it to Quinn’s father who would’ve forbidden her marrying someone of a different faith to hers.
The pair would also not be having a rabbi or priest officiating their wedding, the had chosen one of the most influential people of either of their lives; Will Shuester. When he had been asked, Will was initially hesitant as he assumed that they should use a licensed professional as opposed to their old teacher. The man was a bit of a traditionalist, he didn’t think that this was the best way to start their marriage. This was of course futile because, well, it was Quinn, she always got her way in the end.
The guest list itself was far from small. There were their families of course, not to mention close friends as well as former Glee clubbers, including temporary members like Lauren, who had taken time off from the woman’s WWE to be there. Even Mike the piano guy had been invited, considering that he was always there to give any member a musical soundtrack anytime the needed one.
Of course, Rachel and Finn would be there, Finn of course was Puck’s best man and Rachel Quinn’s maid of honor. Despite being friend-ish for years, the pair had actually become quite close, Quinn even considering Rachel a sort of little sister figure. Other members of Quinn’s bridal party included Santana and Brittany, Kurt, Marley, Mercedes, Kitty, Tina and Sugar.
Puck’s groomsmen, besides Finn, consisted of Joe, Blaine, Sam, Ryder, Jake, Artie, Rory and Mike. Jake had actually been slightly hurt that Puck had chosen Finn over him for best man but shut up when Puck reminded him that for most of their lives they didn’t even know each other and that he and Finn had been best friends for years. Whilst Jake still felt mildly betrayed, a feeling he planned to hold onto for a good while.
Quinn originally wanted a relatively small wedding, despite performing for a long time, she had outgrown big crowds. It had also fallen into her father’s plan for a large wedding, she had tried to avoid that but due to the sheer volume of people that the couple knew, that just wasn’t an option.
In terms of family, Quinn had had a big struggle with that. Her mother had been invited, although they had a very strained relationship due to the ‘’ Beth incident ‘’ in sophomore year, Quinn felt that even though her mother had effectively disowned her, Judy was still her mother and had a right to be at her daughter’s wedding. After all, Judy at least tried to maintain a relationship with her younger child, even going to regionals just to see Quinn perform.
Quinn’s sister Frannie and her husband Al would be in attendance, as would their two daughter Michelle and Kelly, the twins were actually the flower girls for the wedding and were ecstatic for it.
The most dreaded part of Quinn’s family was her father; Russell. He had disowned her after she fell pregnant in 2009 and they pair had never really spoken afterwards. He did however, still speak to Frannie because ‘’ she didn’t destroy her life and everything the Fabray family stood for.’’
Sure, occasionally Quinn would text or him, but to invite him to the most important day of her life was another story. It took a while before Quinn ultimately decided that the perfect revenge would be to not invite him or the ‘’ tattooed freak ‘’ he was with. Quinn wouldn’t lie, Puck had seen her tear up multiple times as she wrote drafts of what to tell her father via email that he was forbidden to attend her and Puck’s nuptials.
On Puck’s side of the family were his mother Patrice and younger sister Lucy. He too had contemplated inviting his father but ultimately decided against it. He claimed that if the deadbeat wouldn’t even make any damn effort with his own flesh and blood then why the Hell should he even be invited to something as important as his son’s wedding?
On the close friends list were Miss Pillsbury, although she now went by Pillsbury-Shuester. So were Lauren, Matt, Becky, Sebastian, Shelby, Burt and Carol Hummel, David Karofsky as well as Azimio, Sheldon and Holly.
It was quite interesting having invited David, Azimio and Sebastian. Despite David having tortured Kurt into transferring temporarily to Dalton Academy, the man had changed his ways and inf act did multiple pro-gay assemblies at schools across the nation as well as anti-bullying seminars. He in fact was now a good friend of Kurt’s, having offered his services as Kurt and Blaine’s ‘’ manny ‘’ after their daughter Caroline was born.
Azimio was slightly harder to get to attend. What was even stranger was that he and David were a couple. Despite being homophobic for years, the man had changed in many ways. He now was a close friend of the GLEE alumni and insisted that if he would be in attendance that he could have the pride flag under his eyes be allowed to happen. Azimio was also the person who organized all of David’s seminars, and had even co-spoken at a few of them himself.
Sebastian however had actually, asked to be invited. Despite having made amends with Blaine, whom he threw rock salt into the eyes of, he still believed he had to redeem himself. He saw no better way to do it than to be in attendance at the 2nd GLEE wedding. He had even promised to keep his sarcasm and brutal cynicism to himself, a fact neither Quinn nor Puck could truly believe.
This would be one of the biggest weddings either of them had ever attended.
Go figure it would be their own.
Chapter one everyone! Thanks so much for reading and I have to say two things before I end off. 1. I know some people might be confused as to why I said ‘’ the 2nd GLEE wedding ‘’, that’s because I consider the Wemma wedding the first one, but to each their own I guess. The other thing is that its oddly windy here.
Other than that the only thing I have left to say is stay safe, and stay awesome!
