"Hey guys! Look what I found at the library!" Simon exclaimed, running into Deena and Josh's living room carrying a book, where Deena, Josh, Sam, and Kate were hanging out after school one afternoon.
"What's that?" Sam asked from where she was sitting on the couch next to Deena. Kate and Josh were sitting on the floor to their left by the coffee table.
"It's a book." Deena commented sarcastically.
Sam laughed a little.
"Myers Briggs?" Josh asked.
Simon went and sat next to Josh, who was next to Kate.
"I found it at the library. I started looking through it and it's this cool information for your personality." Simon said.
"Did you get the books you said you were going to get for the school project before coming here?" Kate asked in a tone.
Simon looked at Kate and his eyes widened.
"Uh. No." Simon said, slowly.
"We'll go tomorrow." Kate said, assuringly.
Simon smiled.
"Information for your personality?" Deena asked.
"Yeah! There's Sixteen types. It's so cool." Simon said, smiling and looking at Deena.
"Oh, like that Carl Jung guy. Sounds interesting." Josh said, looking at Simon.
"Yeah. It's like, these two women who based it off of his work or something. Or added on to his work. Or they turned it into their own thing." Simon said, hands waving.
"I'm surprised you don't already know about this." Deena commented to her brother.
"Well, I might've eventually." Josh said.
"It sounds cool." Kate said, looking at Simon. Simon looked at Kate and smiled.
"Yeah." Sam said, looking at Deena.
"Okay. Fine. It does sound cool." Deena said, rolling her eyes affectionately.
Two hours later they were still all cramped on the couch, Kate siting next to Simon who as next to Josh who was next to Deena who was next to Sam, all staring at the book open on the coffee table.
"I think I'm INTP." Josh said, sounding halfway between certain and not.
Simon nods.
"Why don't you just type all of us?" Deena prompted.
"Only you know yourself." Josh said.
Simon and Kate nodded.
Deena rolled her eyes and everyone went back to reading.
Another hour later.
"I think I'm an ISFJ. Or an ESFJ." Sam said.
"Nice." Deena said, looking at Sam. Sam smiled. "Any idea which one you are?" Sam asked Deena. "No." Deena said, mildly annoyed. "It's hard."
Sam looked at Deena empathetically.
Everyone went back to reading.
Half an hour later.
"Oh!" Deena exclaimed.
"What?" Simon, Josh, and Kate asked at the same time.
"I got it! I think I'm an ISFP." Deena said.
"That does sound like you." Sam said.
"Does it? Yeah?" Deena asked, looking at Sam who nodded. Deena leaned in and kissed Sam who kissed her back. They parted.
Kate and Simon concentrated on the book and kept reading for another half an hour.
"I think I'm an ENTJ. Or ESTJ." Kate said. "No, yeah I'm ENTJ."
"That does sound like you." Simon commented with certainty, looking at Kate.
Kate smiled. Him and Kate high five'd.
Now only Simon was reading.
Fifteen minutes later.
"Any idea on your type?" Josh asked.
"Oh yeah! I'm an ENTP. I just wanted to finish reading the whole book." Simon said, looking at Josh.
Josh, Kate, Deena, and Sam internally eye rolled. And then Deena and Kate actually eye rolled.
Kate put her hand out and waited for Simon to high five her. He did. They put their arms down.
"But seriously?" Kate said, playfully hitting Simon on the shoulder.
"What? When am I gonna get the time to read this? I work all the time." Simon exclaimed, waving his hands, looking at Kate and then everyone else.
"That is true." Deena said, nodding.
"Thank you!" Simon exclaimed, looking at Deena who smiled.
They all finished reading the book together.
