11:11

Summary:

If Giselle could leave everything behind without a second thought, so could she.

Notes:

this isn’t edited so it might be reposted in the future but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!
This fic is based on 11:11 by Taeyeon, mostly the lines
“When we used to make wishes and laugh, everything reminds me of you, the wind is as cold as the edges of your heart” “When this time passes, will this breakup be over? Will I be over you?”
also, I apologize for any typos! I wrote this at 4 am.

Work Text:

Jimin remembered when she first decided to move out.

She couldn’t continue to live in a place where Giselle had such an overbearing presence despite her being gone. She hated that if anyone were to visit, they’d never know Giselle broke up with her.

The candles she’d bought for her housewarming party still took up a decent amount of space in her kitchen, her perfume was still infused in the fabric of her furniture. Giselle’s spare toothbrush still had a home in their- her… bathroom, a pair of her shoes that had been left by her front door, and spare clothes still resided in her bedroom drawers that she was sure Giselle had no intention of coming back for.

She fought against her feelings, she would desperately miss the memories this apartment held. Nonetheless, she still packed all of her belongings away, sold her furniture, and made sure one of Giselle’s friends came by to take her stuff.

Jimin examined the empty rooms, trying to ignore the pang in her chest at the sound of her heels echoing in her now empty living room.

She flashbacked to cold winter nights, where they’d huddle together for warmth on her couch as the insulation in the apartment did a poor job of keeping out the frigid night air. The place where all of their arguments started, screaming things at each other they’d never be able to take back.

She smiled bitterly at the contrast in memories. She closed her eyes, ready to erase every memory she’d made in the past 8 months. With one last glance, she closed the door to her old life.

She decided to move to a more quiet part of the city, into a home instead of an apartment. She knew she’d have to get a roommate or two but she didn’t care. She finally felt like she was home.

A week later, Kim Minjeong and Lee Chaeryeong showed up on her doorstep, they grinned wide as they handed her the ad she’d placed in the paper. Jimin grinned as well and welcomed them in.

A few days later, they had both moved in. It took Jimin a few weeks to get used to the chaos that followed the two. The way they’d playfully wrestle during their designated game nights, or how they’d get into random heated debates over things Jimin thought were pointless. These things weren’t unwelcomed, she enjoyed them more than she’d ever admit.

Months had passed by now, and she’d completely forgotten about her old life in the heart of the city. She became fully absorbed in her new life, new friends, and new job. Months later is where she met Shin Ryujin. Jimin knew she was fucked when Ryujin flashed a dashing smile her way.

She was the new intern at her job, and she swore her boss loved her because moments after their brief interaction she was asked to let Ryujin shadow her for the week. She will forever be grateful for that day.

It blossomed into a new, healthy relationship for Jimin.

Three months later, Jimin and Ryujin were curled up on the former’s bed, ignoring whatever was playing on her television as they lost themselves in each other. Jimin, lost in the way Ryujin touched her so delicately, kissed her so softly as if she’d disappear. Jimin realized three months later that she was indeed in love with Shin Ryujin.

Except this time, she knew Ryujin would be there to catch her.
