Chapter Text
Doyoung never imagined he would be doing this, he knows that this is a ridiculous idea and he should turn back instead. But he couldn’t. He fixed his glasses and his dress shirt to appear more presentable and walked his way to the classroom.
He has rehearsed this countless times, there’s no way that he would mess up.
When he got to the classroom, he sighed and knocked on the door. He opened the door slightly and spoke, “Good afternoon, I apologize for interrupting you all. But, may I speak to Nakamoto Yuta, please?”
Doyoung saw a student walking towards someone and whispered something to him. As he turned around, Doyoung held his breath.
“Oh, hi there Doyoung! How may I help you?” Yuta asked cheerfully. That bright smile instantly made Doyoung’s heart melt. He cleared his throat and answered, “Well, I was wondering if you are free right now. I found a small cafe nearby and I thought it would be nice if we could go together.”
Yuta thought for a moment before he replied, “I don’t think I have any plans today. So, sure! I’d love to.” As soon as Yuta agreed, Doyoung smiled and nodded. “Great, let’s be on our way then.” He told him, watching Yuta grab his bag and jacket.
Yuta waved goodbye to his classmates and followed Doyoung to the school’s exit.
While they were walking, Yuta questioned Doyoung, “Why did you ask me so suddenly? I mean not that I don’t like it, but I’m just surprised that you asked me out of everyone else.” Doyoung’s heart started to race but he answered, “Well, all of my other friends are busy. My roommate is out with his best friend, so I thought perhaps I should try asking you.”
Yuta nodded and continued to walk beside him. Yuta couldn’t help but notice the tips of Doyoung’s ears were a little red. He decided to ignore it, thinking it was just the chilly weather. They finally arrived at the cafe safely, Yuta opened the door for Doyoung and they both walked inside.
“It’s so nice and cozy here, you seem to be good at picking your venues for hanging out.” Yuta chuckled. Doyoung scoffed, brushing off the nervous feeling he had a few seconds ago. “I’ll go and order our drinks, you can wait for me over there.” He told him, pointing at a table near the cafe’s window.
Yuta nodded and went to sit on a chair, pulling out his phone. He checked the time and it was exactly 2:00 in the afternoon. He was scrolling through his phone, not noticing that Doyoung was on his way to their table.
“Yuta~” Doyoung called out, immediately catching his attention. Yuta helped him set the drinks and pastries on the table and set the tray aside. “Wow, a pretty latte for me? Thank you Doyoung~” He beamed, making Doyoung laugh. “You're welcome, it’s our first time hanging out together. I might as well treat you to something extra sweet.” Doyoung replied, taking a sip of his cup.
As time went on, Yuta got to know Doyoung more. From knowing that they are both in the same major to Doyoung’s interests and hobbies, he also got to know Doyoung’s habits.
The way he smiles is almost similar to a bunny, his eyes reminded him of the night sky; They were shining against the light and the color was as dark as charcoal.
His hands looked so dainty and similar to his size, Yuta wonders if he is allowed to hold his hand. They both finished their chat and their coffee, Yuta looked up and thanked Doyoung. “Thank you for treating me today, Doyoung. I should treat you next time we hang out.”
Doyoung’s heart fluttered slightly when Yuta mentioned that. “You don’t have to, you know. I’m just glad I got to spend time with you today.”
They both got out of the cafe and walked towards a park. They both sat down on a bench, watching the clouds roll by. Yuta glanced at Doyoung, his cheeks tinted red. He pointed out, “Your cheeks are red, are you cold?” Doyoung touched his cheeks and realized it was warm, he nervously laughed and stuttered, “I - It’s nothing, I’m okay.”
When Doyoung turned away, Yuta removed his jacket and wrapped it around Doyoung. He placed his hands in his pockets and said, “There, with my jacket on, you’ll be twice as warm now.”
He grinned, which made Doyoung feel shy. “Your jacket is kind of big for me, don’t you think?” He quipped.
Yuta shook his head and told him, “I think it suits you really well. You look adorable.” He stifled a laugh when he saw Doyoung’s face flush at the sudden compliment. Doyoung quickly hid his face in his face and whined.
“This is definitely not how I expected it to be. How can he act so confident?” He pondered as he watched Yuta get up and went in front of him. “Come on, silly! There’s a place I wanted to show you. It’s my personal favorite spot around this city.” Yuta piped, holding out his hand.
Doyoung hesitated whether he wanted to hold his hand or not, he gave in and smiled.
“Alright, lead the way Nakamoto.” He nodded, feeling the warmth of the other’s hand as he followed.
