Work Text:
Kronii Ouro is the Warden of Time, meaning she's responsible for keeping every timelines intact. She can control time too, but that doesn't mean she can just go and change the past, future or even the present. Meaning, whatever happens in that timeline stays in that time line.
However, she can do something else too, and that is to love.
She never know that it could be possible for her to love someone as much as she loved herself, until she met Fauna.
Ceres Fauna is one of the council members. Being the Keeper of Nature she's responsible for keeping earth alive.
The relationship between the two is a complicated one.
Kronii Ouro being the Warden of Time and seeing the future. This is something that can be both a blessing and a curse.
She hates it, knowing that one day one of the council will die and vanished, and she'll be stuck forever knowing what is going to happen. She wishes she could just turn the page and be done with it all. But that isn't possible once it once it gets started.
Everything has its ends, even time. It just so happens that her job has brought more suffering than happiness.
That's why when she knows that she have something for Fauna, she didn't waste anytime to always talked to her or even take a walk with her in the woods. She just do it, and it was the best thing she could've done. She never had such a friend before. Someone who actually listened when she talked, and who actually took her side in everything.
Fauna was all that she could ask for, but she can't confess to her knowing that it will cause some consequences Kronii wouldn't able to handle.
They are two powerful beings, and two powerful beings who may never see eye to eye on anything. However, one thing they do share is their love for each other.
Like Fauna, she loves kronii but not in the romantic way.
While Kronii, it's the complete opposite.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the year 3500 B.C.E.
The first civilization starts to arise from the earth.
A group of primitive humans, starts to build huts in a circle, the first of many cities that would arise.
And that's where Kronii's friendship with Fauna starts to crumble.
When Fauna comes to visit, she's all love and kindness.
But later on, when the civilization starts to gain power and influence over everything, it's a completely different ball game.
Fauna wasn't the sweet girl that Kronii used to know, the one who would listen to her problems and always try to fix things.
Fauna had turned into a corrupted one, one who would do anything to gain more power and influence.
But Kronii understand Fauna.
Who wouldn't be angry if these people starts killing all the things that belongs to Nature? Who wouldn't want to do something about it?
Butt she can't do anything to stop these.
However all that anger and frustration fades away when a new member was added to the council.
A young woman, who's age is around the same as hers.
Her name is Mumei Nanashi, she's the Guardian of Civilization.
She's the same age as Kronii, but she's way smarter than her.
As year's go by, Kronii noticed that Fauna is returning to her old self again. In fact, she hasn't seen Fauna this happy.
Her kind acts towards the Guardian and the people of the city are genuine, she just doesn't seem to care for the council anymore.
The only thing that Fauna cared about was nature and Mumei.
The two of them would go for long walks in the woods, and when Mumei saw a butterfly or a flower that she didn't recognize, Fauna would gently show it to her and tell her its name.
Kronii should be happy especially for Fauna.
But she couldn't bare to accept that Mumei replaced her.
She started to avoid the girl whenever she could, and when she was alone with her she didn't talk to her at all.
Kronii trapped herself in her clock tower, even to the point where she would not attend any meeting Baelz calls for her.
Kronii wanted to be alone, she doesn't wanna see anyone.
She wanted to forget everything, including her feelings for Fauna.
But, it's impossible.
You can't just wish your feelings away.
They're there, still as large as they've always been.
You just have to learn to live with them.
So instead of making herself look pathetic, Kronii strengthen her mind and even her heart to be able to endure it.
And she does.
The relationship between the two of them isn't anything like what it once was.
She may not get rid of the feelings she have for Fauna, but she can lock and bury them inside herself so that they are impossible to reach.
It's the only way to get on with her life.
When Sana asked her to help with the council, she said yes.
Kronii started attending meetings again and she was never late this time.
It's almost like being on time is an accomplishment for her now.
Kronii finds it strange, but she doesn't question it.
In fact she's glad about it.
But she still tried her best to avoid Fauna on any way she can.
It's not that she doesn't like her, because she does.
But she's more of a friend, and she still feels the need to be separate from her.
But then Mumei suddenly became interested on the Warden.
She started asking her questions about time, and she started telling her stories to her.
She even asked her to play games with her to keep her mind off of her problems.
Kronii doesn't want to get attached to Mumei, fearing it would be another Fauna incident, but she couldn't just turn her away either.
The girl seems nice enough, and she's a welcome distraction from time to time.
Kronii just hope that this time, she's making the right decision.
