Draw Me Like One Of Your French Girls

Summary:

Y/N has successfully managed to sketch all of her friends, but one Peter Maximoff. The boy couldn't sit still for 30 seconds and it was driving her up the wall. She was going to get that drawing if it killed her.

Notes:

This is one of my first fics, hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

Y/N sat with her sketchbook out on the Mansions lawn, happily drawing a few of her students as they played around between classes. Her peaceful rest was soon interrupted by a gust of wind and a silver haired speedster.

"Whatcha doing?" He asked as he leaned over her shoulder, examining her work. She quickly slammed her book closed.

"Just enjoying the nice weather," Y/N wasn't ashamed of her work, after all she was the school's art Professor, but she always felt shy showing them to Peter.

"I always wondered why you never draw me, I mean look at this face," he flashed her a large goofy smile.

"Hideous I know," she smirked as his face fell.

He clutched his chest dramatically, "you wound me, you really do."

Y/N laughed as he speed away to help a student who had fallen off of there skateboard. She thought know was her chance as he was dusting them off, but as soon as she had begun to sketch out the shape of his face he was gone again. She let out a long exasperated sigh as she closed her book again.

"Still haven't caught him yet?" Jean asked as she took the seat Peter once occupied. Y/N only reply was a groan.

"You could always just ask him you know?" Jean handed Y/N her lunch, " I'm sure he would love the attention, especially from you."

Y/N blushed, " Very funny, I can't just ask him, I like to sketch people in the moment."

"Well if you want to sketch Peter in the moment you might as well draw a blur," Jean laughed at the huff Y/N let out.

Peter would never admit it but the fact that Y/N would never draw him was eating him up inside. She drew Jean, Scott, Hank, hell even Charles, but not him. He was beginning to question whether or not Y/N really did think he was to ugly to draw as Scott entered the kitchen.

"What are you doing in here? You're usually annoying Y/N," Scott asked as he opened the fridge.

"She's eating out on the patio with Jean," he sighed out.

"You look like a kicked puppy, what's on your mind," Scott took the seat opposite of Peter.

"Why won't she draw me? I'm the only one she hasn't!" His exclamation made Scott jump, " she hates me doesn't she?"

"First, that's a bit of an overreaction, I mean come on she's your best friend," he opened his bag of chips. "Second, your not the most stationary person Peter."

"All she has to do is ask, it's not like I could say no to her," Scott gave him a knowing look, " I mean not like I would say no!"

"Well here's a brilliant idea, why don't you just ask her to draw you?" Scott suggested.

"Just ask her, huh?"

Y/N sat in the lounge area of school after a long day of teaching and grading assignments. She was going through a small stack of sketches she had attempted of Peter, an eye here, a nose there, she even managed to sketch his hair one day before he vanished right before her eyes.

And as if thinking of him willed his presence he was there before her taking a seat on the sofa across from hers. She quickly stuffed her failed masterpieces away before addressing him.

"And where might you have been? I haven't seen you since this morning."

"I was talking to Scott at lunch, I had some thinking to do afterwards," he said in a casual tone.

"That must have been really hard," Y/N laughed at the indignant look he gave her.

"As I was saying, before you rudely insulted me, I was doing some thinking and I have something to ask you," he was looking at her directly in the eyes as her heart speed up.

"Ask away," she said hopefully.

"Would you draw me please?" it was his turn to look hopeful. Y/N was slightly surprised by his request, it wasn't exactly what she was really hoping he would ask, but it was finally her chance. She would have preferred drawing him acting naturally, but seeing that natural Peter was a tornado she would take what she could get.

"Of course Peter, I'd love to," she smiled at him and his face went slightly pink. "But you have to stay still you know?"

"Yeah, it's not that hard," he replied confidently.

"Tell that to my sketchbook," Y/N mumbled under her breath.

"What was that?"

"Nothing!"

Y/N began with outlining his face, she was surprised by how still he was being. This didn't last for very long as Peter quickly grew bored by sitting stationary. He thought he could run to the kitchen really quick for a drink without you noticing. He was wrong.

"Peter..." she sighed, tearing the page from her book, " you have to stay still, your hair looks different now?"

"I will, I'm sorry!" He quickly apologized, not wanting to ruin another drawing.

Soon Y/N was back on track. She had just started on his nose when he began to bounce his leg, well it wasn't really bouncing with Peter, more like vibrating. The vibration caused all of Y/N pencils to fall and hit her sketch marking and ruining it.

"That's it!" Y/N quickly stood up, causing Peter to panic, he really didn't want her to quit and leave. "This has to be perfect Peter!"

He was about to stand and stop her from leaving but she surprised him by rounding the coffee table and standing in front of him. She grabbed his legs and pulled them onto the couch so he was sitting with his back against the armrest. And before he could even protest she had straddled his knees and was facing him.

Peter blushed dark red as she examined his face closely, " try moving now Maximoff."

Peter had no plans of leaving this spot. While Y/N was examining his face, he was admiring hers. He loved watching her sketch, loved the way her brows knitted together in concentration, and the way she would smile after completing something she was proud of. And now he had a chance to watch up close.

"What are you staring at Peter?" Y/N asked as she leaned in to get a closer look at his mouth, causing him to hold his breath.

"Oh, just the lovely artist drawing me," he was slightly shocked by admitting that out loud, but he didn't regret it as a blush bloomed on Y/N face.

"Nice try at making up for the two previous attempts Pete."

"I'm completely serious!" He moved slightly, causing Y/N to reach out and hold his face in place. The pause that followed was audible, neither of them new what say until Y/N finally broke it.

"Amost done here," she spoke quietly going back to her work as Peter remained silent.

"And finished!" She she proudly, the silence from a moment ago forgotten as she finally achieved her goal of drawing Peter Maximoff.

"Let me see! Let me see!" Peter exclaimed excitedly bouncing up and down, he reminded Y/N of a kid on Christmas morning. She quickly spun it around to face him, the look of amazement on his face warmed her heart.

"This is amazing Y/N, like looking in a mirror," his remarks made her blush," can I have it?"

An idea hit her, a maybe foolish idea, but an idea none the less. "Not so fast Maximoff."

Y/N stood from his lap, Peter missed the contact as soon as she was gone.

"You know how many sketchbooks I went through trying to accomplish this?" She held up his picture, " I'm going to need some form of payment."

"What do you mean?" He looked at her completely confused, she smiled at the fact her plan was working.

"I say dinner would be payment enough, maybe even a movie too," Peter's face lit up at her offer, it soon turned to a playful expression.

"Well if you insist I can't say no to you," Y/N heart felt like it was about to burst. She picked up her supplies and started on her way to the door.

"Good, seven tomorrow night, I'll hang onto this to make sure you don't back out," she winked at him.

"There's not a chance of that," he beamed at her as she turned the corner and left. What happened next could be considered the world's fastest and most chaotic celebration dance.

"Oh, and Peter," Y/N popped back around the corner, causing him to blush again at being caught in the act of his celebration.

"Yes?" He asked sheepishly.

"Don't be late," she said with a smirk as she left again.
