From Beyond the Stars

Summary:

In an instant Zelda was at the window. It didn’t take more than a second for her to realize the blazing light that was shooting across the sky. Zelda ran outside to get a better look. Zelda watched in awe as the light soured right over castle town, washing the city in a bright light, before crashing just outside the wall.

Before Link could stop her Zelda began running towards the outside of the city, she was slightly tipsy from the drinks she had earlier, so if she was sober, she probably would’ve not run out here like this.

Ok, so, saying that landing wasn’t the smoothest was one hell of an understatement. “Fuck” Samus groaned, pushing herself to her feet. Smoke was filling the main cabin at an alarming rate, so she didn’t have time to run a diagnostic on the damage, she just needed to get out. Samus had to kick the open button on the door for it to actually open, and even then, her ship shook violently. She would need to call for help when she got the chance.

Chapter Text

Zelda sighed, sparing a glance at Link, she groaned. She understood that her father wanted her to have a guard with her at all times, but why did it have to be the one guy who never talked unless necessary? Zelda ordered another drink, but before she could take a sip, a gasp caught both her, and Link’s attention.

“What is that!?” The civilian gasped, pointing out the window.

“Princess!” Link yelled, grabbing Zelda’s arm, “It’s possible that whatever that was is highly dangerous.”

“Yeah, well, what if it’s not?” Zelda retorted.

“What if it is?” Link replied calmly.

Zelda snorted, before continuing through the city to see what had crashed outside.

“Princess!” Link groaned, running after Zelda.

————————

A small crowd had formed around what had crashed, the royal guard was trying to disperse said crowd, as it was unclear if whatever it was was still dangerous. Zelda and Link pushed their way through the crowd.

The thing was large and orange, and had a large amount of heat radiating off of it, as well as large plumes of black smoke. Metal fragments were scattered around the large crater the crash had created. The thing shook a little bit, before a silhouette pushed some of the smoke away.

As the silhouette became more defined it was clear that whoever it was was at least vaguely humanoid. They were wearing some kind of armor that was mostly purple and magenta, with the chest plate and helmet being more red, and a majority of the central section being white. Instead of an eye hole there was a green piece of glass that was glowing ever so slightly. There were two glowing green stripes going down the chest plate and through a large part of the central portion. On their left arm was a sort of miniature cannon, which was currently aimed at the nearest guard to them, but their body was facing towards the second nearest guard if they needed to aim at said guard.

“Lady, are you alright?” Adam asked, as Samus had been on edge since she had gotten back to the ship.

“Yeah,” Samus replied flatly, she wasn’t particularly in the mood to talk, she needed some time to, just, unpack, what had happened on Planet ZDR. Her, as Raven Beak put it, ‘metamorphosis’ into a metroid. Samus looked at her hand, had what Raven Beak said about her being a threat to the universe true?

“Low fuel,” A monotone, metallic voice rang out across the ship, and sliced through Samus’ thoughts.

“Shit” Samus breathed, “Adam,” she began, “what's on the nearest planet?”

“The nearest planet is remote, and does appear to be inhabitable, but it is unclear if there is sentient life there, as there has been no recorded encounters between the planet’s natives, and any other race,” The A.I. replied.

Samus bounced her leg as she thought about her options. She could land on some remote planet on the off chance she could find the fuel needed to power her ship, or she could see if she could hold out until-

“Low fuel,” Well that answers that, unknown planet it is.

She set a course for the primitive planet, knowing it was possible the landing wouldn’t be the smoothest. She shot off into the distance.

Samus climbed out of her ship, and slid off the side of it. Only to be greeted by a sword pointed directly at her, Samus shot a glance behind her, only to find another guard wielding a spear. Samus aimed her cannon at the one with the spear, but kept her body facing the one with a sword.

The one with the sword was shouting something in the native language.

“Detected unknown language, attempting translation.”

Samus looked around her surroundings, still hyper aware of the movements of the two guards closest to her. There were more people in silver armor who had their weapons pointed at her, a small crowd had formed behind the line of guards. There were two people in front of the line who weren’t wearing armor, one had his sword drawn, and was wearing a blue tunic, and the other was staring straight at Samus, and was wearing a long elegant dress. The two had elongated and pointed ears, like elves.

“…stand down.” A stern voice yelled. The A.I. in her suit must have finished it’s translation process. Samus reluctantly lowered her canon, but was still on guard.

“Who are you?” The one in the dress asked after a few tense moments.

“My name is Samus Aran,” Samus replied, it’s not like they could use her name for anything here, as she highly doubted that some random planet in the middle of nowhere had information of what went on outside of said planet.
