Tony wasn’t like normal dads. He didn’t have to know his kids’ business. Well, his daughter was four but anyways. His pseudo-kids were okay and amazing people and he didn’t have to know everything but hey would it hurt them to tell him they had significant others. He found out about Harley’s first when he found some stuff he didn’t approve of in Harley’s room but hey better he was doing it in his room instead of some dirty restroom. He had brought it up only for the boy to get embarrassed.
“Well I’m not approving of this relationship,” Tony said. Harley muttered something and Tony looked at him.
“You will like him,” Harley reassured but Tony didn’t want Harley just seeing anyone when he was his kid. Harley deserved the best and whoever he was dating couldn’t have been the best. Tony even said so but Harley wouldn’t take it as he walked out of the room annoyed with Tony. Tony figured he had to work on meeting this mystery boy.

Peter was talking on the phone a week later when Harley was back in Tennessee and Tony looked at him as he told the person how much he loved them and how much they missed them. Peter, then not knowing Tony was in the room, told the person that he was going to kiss the other when he saw him next. Tony froze as he looked at Peter. Peter hung up before realizing that Tony was there.
“Mr. Stark,” he said surprised. “How long have you been here?”
“Long enough to know I got to deal with your new partner,” Tony said. “So when do I get to meet this other person?”
“You are mad that I got a boyfriend?” Peter said.
“I’m not mad but I’m not really happy with this person.” Tony said.
“I thought you wanted to meet him,” Peter pointed out.
“So I can give him the talk. I feel the same about Harley’s new boyfriend,” Tony said. Peter snickered at that then told Tony that he would think about that.
“I think Harley’s boyfriend might get him in trouble,” Peter told Tony. Tony muttered as Peter seemed amused as he slipped out of the labs knowing he had to call his boyfriend about what happened.

Harley tried to hide it but sometimes Peter was a menace and he had a very bad hickey on his neck that MJ and Ned had pointed out. Harley had just stuttered as Peter had smiled and joked about Harley’s boyfriend getting on Tony’s bad side. Now Tony was giving him the talk about the hickey and Peter was just laughing as he was listening.
“If I see a hickey on you then you would be hearing the same thing, Underoo,” Tony told him.
“I heard his boyfriend tries to leave hickeys but they don’t stay on for long,” Harley said which got Tony giving Peter the talk and Peter not kissing up on him for a good week.

Peter was writing a text to Harley as he was laying on his bed without a shirt when he decided to send a picture. Sadly Tony caught him as he was taking the picture when he was coming to get him for a movie.
“Peter…. What are you doing?” Tony asked.
“I was just…” Peter paused as he debated on how to answer that question without getting in trouble or getting Harley in trouble. Tony didn’t seem happy. “I sent my boyfriend a picture.”
“You aren’t wearing a shirt,” Tony pointed out.
“I was about to go to bed,” Peter lied. He was about to watch a movie on facetime with Harley but Tony didn’t need to know that. His phone started ringing and Peter froze. Tony grabbed Peter’s phone.
“Peter can’t talk right now he is currently being bad…. Keener, why are you currently calling Peter?” Tony looked at the phone confused. “He hung up on me.”
“Cause you are scaring him, Mr. Stark,” Peter said before grabbing a shirt and leaving his room. Tony was confused as he set Peter’s phone down. Why was Peter upset with him and why would Harley be scared of him? He didn’t understand his kids some days but he was worried about his one kid. He walked into Harley’s room but turned around.
“I didn’t not need to see that,” Tony said as Peter and Harley moved apart. Both were blushing as he said that.
“Sorry, Mr. Stark,” Peter said. Harley couldn’t say anything as he tried to speak a few times but he was silent. Peter looked at him and smiled. “Though I think you shocked Harley. He wasn’t expecting anyone in his room tonight.”
“Can we talk about this?” Harley said.
“Talk about what?” Tony asked.
“You aren’t happy we are dating. So we can talk about that,” Harley said.
“Kid, I was worried you would get hurt by someone I didn’t know. You both know I would hurt the other if something happened,” Tony said.
“We know but nothing is going to happen to us because we looooove each other according to Harley,” Peter teased.
“What if I leave you like…” the statement didn’t need to be finished before Tony knew what was wrong with his kid and why they didn’t want Tony to know.
“You aren’t that man Harley. You were there for your family and you are here for this family as well,” Tony told him. Harley still looked concerned as Peter hugged him close.
“You wouldn’t leave because you care too much,” Peter told him as Tony saw his kids. Maybe he didn’t approve of them dating but he did approve of them being happy and these two had found happiness young and maybe it would last. Tony left them alone and gave Peter a nod as he left to find his best friend.
“Rhodes, how did I get lucky to have two amazing kids who found the best person for them?” Tony asked.
“Probably because they have an amazing father figure,” Rhodey said. Tony looked at his best friend and smiled. Maybe he just had amazing kids who could work out their problems and didn’t need him to overprotect them. He looked at Morgan in Pepper’s arms. Well two out of the three who didn’t need him to overprotect them.
