One of the perks of being Cassie Howard is that they always fine someone better and forget about you, that’s what made it so easy for Cassie to leave the night of graduation. She told Lexi she was going and lexi while worried she understood, Cassie couldn’t explain to all her friends how she ended up magically pregnant after being single for a year after splitting up with McKay. Lexi found out about Nate the night Cassie found out she was pregnant, she couldn’t go through another abortion the last one hurt her so much emotionally she was a mess after.
Lexi came home to Cassie crying in their bathroom, she rushed over and checked Cassie out to make sure she wasn’t hurt in anyway and that’s when she saw the pregnancy test in her sisters hands and her heart dropped she knew that if she did it again she would lose her sister this time.
“ who’s baby is it cas ?” Her voice soft
Cassie looks up at Lexi
“ Nate’s” her voice breaking. The colour drained from Lexis face now she knew why her sister was in such a state. She out her arms around Cassie and let her cry.
That was five years ago, Cassie and little Jacob had to whole ass across the county back to the Howard’s hometown due to Cassie’s divorce. Fez and Lexi said Jacob and Cassie could stay with them unit she got back on her feet which she was greatful for. On the way Into town Jacob started moaning he was hungry so they stopped by the diner on the outskirts of town. They was sitting in their booth colouring in while they was waiting for their food when he walked in. At first he didn’t notice her he was leaning against the counter ordering. That’s when Jacob decides it’s a great moment to drop his colouring pencils all over the diner floor.
He turned to look at Cassie with the Same baby blue eyes she has and said “ oh oh mummy.” Cassie shakes her head and laughs a little.
She gets out the booth and bends down to pick them up.
“ you’ve gotta be more careful baby. Auntie Lexi and uncle fez have a doggy they might try and eat your toys.”
Jacob giggles, thinking his mummy was being silly.
She’s still picking up the pencils when someone else starts helping. She looks up to say thank you when the words die on her lips.
“ Nate” she whispers, he’s looking at her with the same intense look he’s always done. Like he’s looking at a painting, taking in every detail like it was the last time.
He clears his throat and puts the pencils on the table and looks at Jacob, Cassie could see the wheels turning in his head.
“ what’s your name little guy ?” Nate asks
Jacob looks at Cassie and she nods giving him the go ahead, he’s done that ever since they had the stranger danger talk.
“ my name is Jacob Nathaniel Howard. “ he struggles a little with Nathaniel. Nate snaps his head up at Cassie, she opens her mouth a few times trying to fine the right words.
