"mark," jaemin warns, half muffled by his pillow as he patiently waits for his boyfriend to stop pinching his cheek softly.
his boyfriend, of course, pays him no mind. he begins to poke his boyfriend's soft cheeks, eyes staring at his boyfriend's face in poorly concealed wonder.
"mark, please, i want to sleep."
"call me hyung and i'll consider it."
"i haven't called you hyung since i was thirteen."
mark huffs, squishing the cheek harder, "then no, i won't stop."
"mark, you do this all the time…"
the older finally stops squishing jaemin's cheeks in favour of cupping his boyfriend's jaw and peppering kisses all over them. "they're so cute!" he marvels, "so squishy!"
"mark…" jaemin sighs, although it's more out of content than anything. his boyfriend has always been like this, showing affection at strange times, stroking his cheeks during interviews, playing with his hands during dance practice breaks, poking his soft skin and accidentally waking him at 3am. completely normal for them.
“so soft,” mark mumbles, lips still pressed to jaemin’s cheek, “and all mine.”
jaemin brings up a hand to mark;’s chin pushing his head back softly so he can survey the older’s eyes. there’s a sparkle of pride in mark’s eyes as he stares back and his boyfriend, so bright it makes jaemin blush.
“they are,” mark says, mirth decorating his tone as he grins at his boyfriend. he squishes his cheek again. “gonna get a stamp,” he murmurs, well aware that jaemin’s hanging on to his every word, “label them ‘property of mark lee’.”
jaemin chuckles, “oh, i’m sure the fans would have a field day with that.”
“well they need to know,” mark insists.
“you’re cute,” jaemin breathes out, voice barely heard even in the silence of the room. “i like it when you get like this.”
mark presses a soft kiss to jaemin’s lips, “like what?”
jaemin presses forwards, talk’s against the soft pillow of mark’s lips, “possessive.” he says, then pulls away to press their foreheads together, “you don’t do it all tough and that, you know? you always get so soft, more attentive.”
“‘s’that good?” mark asks, brushing their noses together lazily, knowing it makes jaemin smile that soft, secretive smile, the one that’s reserved just for him.
jaemin hums, kisses him again. it’s not just a peck this time, but it’s not desperate. it feels safe, it feels like love, “it’s amazing,” jaemin answers as he pulls away, “makes me feel loved.”
“you are,” mark says between peppering kisses along jaemin’s jaw, “you’re so loved, baby.”
jaemin joins their lips together again in a sweet goodnight kiss, sleepily letting his arms fall around mark’s waist. he sighs into the kiss as mark grazes a thumb across his soft cheeks again. “love you, hyung.”
“love you too, baby.”
eventually, the kisses stop and jaemin’s breath evens out as he falls asleep, feeling safe in his love’s arms. mark watches him sleep, eyes full of love.
before he falls asleep, he pinches jaemin’s cheek one more time, just for good measure.
