The Stars Among Us New Additions

Chapter 1: New Additions…

As Shrek slumped his body over to the lounge in the space craft, Elmo guided him. The first to see him was Venessa. She stopped working on the coffee machine, and turned around to see Elmo and Shrek before her.

“What is he doing here!?” Venessa whisper shouted.

“We’re going to the lounge!” Elmo rushed, before pulling Shrek with him.

They walked around a few corners and ended up at the lounge. Everyone was making conversation.

Shrek cleared his throat to gain attention.
Everyone looked up to see Elmo and Shrek standing there.

“Umm what is HE doing?” Squidward questioned in an angry tone.

“Elmo- I didn’t think-“ Berry began.

“Shrek.” Sea Hawk whispered.

“Look guys! I don’t know why he’s here either, but he’s here!” Elmo spoke before walking completely into the lounge area.

Shrek was still standing there awkwardly.

“Shrek! You’re… here.” Sea Hawk said.

“Yeah well.” The ogre spoke and awkwardly rubbed his neck.

“This is gonna be interesting.” Adora said looking between Sea Hawk, Elmo, and Shrek.

Venessa came running in.

“What’s going on!” She demanded.

It had been hours since Shrek had explained the situation. They all had mixed feelings about it, but tried to make the best of the situation.

Everyone was almost asleep. Only two were still getting ready for bed.

Shrek slumped himself over to the bathroom to brush his teeth. He was met with someone he was never fully introduced to.

Squidward…

He was hovering over the sink in the dimly lit bathroom, scrubbing at his teeth.

He looked over to Shrek, and pulled the toothbrush out of his mouth.

“Do you need some toothpaste?” Squidward asked a bit lazily.

“…Umm, yeah.” Shrek replied stepping
over to the sink next to the one Squidward was using.

Squidward started going through the different cabinets and cupboards to find a tube of toothpaste. Shrek stood in front of the sink awkwardly.

“So… you’re the one who-“

“Yes. I’m the one who slapped Elmo in the face.” Squidward rushed.

He dug through a bag, and pulled out toothpaste and a toothbrush. He got up and turned around to look back at Shrek.

“Here.” Squidward said holding out the supplies for the ogre.

Shrek took it in his hand and turned back to the sink.

“Thanks.”

They both started brushing their teeth.
They stood in silence together, trying not to make eye contact. The sound of the engine, and the swishing of their toothbrushes was the only you could hear.
Squidward spat into the sink, and rinsed his toothbrush under the running water. He turned off the tap, and wiped his face clean with a washcloth.

“We can talk abo-“ Shrek was cut off.

“I don’t want to talk about anything with you.” Squidward stated and walked off, leaving Shrek alone in the room.

He could hear Squidward’s footsteps getting smaller and smaller as he walked away.

Shrek sighed and finished brushing his teeth, before heading off to bed.

It was early morning, well at least on the time schedule that the crew was on. It had been Shrek’s first night in space! He was waking up to the sound people gasping and cheering, and mostly a lot of unnecessary noise.

“Could you quiet down!” Shrek yelled.

He could hear foot steps running down the hall. Elmo flung the door open and called for Shrek.

“Shrek come here!” Elmo giggled.

“What in the fudge mud are you so happy about?” Shrek asked.

“Just cmon!” Elmo exclaimed, before running off again.

Shrek sighed and got out of bed. He put on some clothes, and made his way down to everyone.

As he walked he could see everyone huddled over Venessa like she was some kind of prized possession.

“Why are you being so loud!” Shrek complained.

Venessa looked up at Shrek with happy eyes.

“I’m pregnant.”

Chapter Text

“Ok Everyone, are you all ready?” Berry asked the crew.

“Yes.” Elmo said.

“Yep.” Squidward replied.

“Yes sir.” Sea Hawk spoke.

“Uh huh.” Shrek said.

Berry walked up to each one of them to make sure they were ready to go onto planet thulite. He walked up to Elmo first, then Squidward. Soon after Sea Hawk, and last was Shrek.

Berry stepped back and checked off something on the clipboard he was holding.

“Ok guys, I’m going to assign groups. Um.. let’s see. Ok. Elmo, you go with Squidward. Sea Hawk you can go with Shrek. Obviously Venessa and Adora are staying in the ship, they’ll be in charge of receiving messages. I’ll stay here.” Berry directed.

“Uhh ok.” Elmo said awkwardly.

He really didn’t want to be stuck with Squidward, especially after everything he had said. Elmo looked over to Squidward to see that he was staring at him. Elmo shifted his eyes onto the ground.

“Squidward, Elmo. You guys will be in charge of rocket fuel delivery.” Berry looked over to Shrek and Sea Hawk. “You two with be in charge of food supply shipment.

“Yes sir!” Sea Hawk saluted.

“Sea Hawk, you don’t have to do that.” Berry stated.

“Yes sir of course!” Sea Hawk replied.

Berry sighed.

“Whatever. Anyways, if you are in trouble or need assistance, use your walkie-talkie. Understand?” Berry said.

They all gave their yeses.

“Ok let’s move out.” Berry directed, guiding them outside.

Berry shut the door. He led them to a storage compartment outside the ship.

“Ok Elmo and Squidward, you guys will take truck one and deliver the cargo to space force base 5.” Berry spoke.

“Sea Hawk and Shrek, you two will take truck number two to space force base 1.” Berry directed.

“Ok.” Shrek replied.

“I will drive.” Sea Hawk said.

“No you won’t.” Shrek reminded him.

“Ok, you all know where to go.” Berry said.

Shrek hopped into the drivers seat of the truck, and Sea Hawk took the passenger seat.

“I’m driving.” Squidward said in frustration.

“Fine.” Elmo said back in the same tone.

(Meanwhile on the ship)

“Really? You don’t seem like a cheesecake kinda gal.” Venessa said eyeing Adora.

“Ok?” Adora replied.

“Wait, do me and Sea Hawk get boxes too?” Adora asked examining the cargo room.

“Oh, um if you want you can have your own box.” Venessa replied.

“Mm. Okay.” Adora mumbled.

Adora looked down at the ground to see that there was a little white square. “What?” She mumbled picking it up. Adora flipped it over to see that it was a picture.

“What’s this?” She asked Venessa.

Venessa walked over to Adora to look at the picture.

“Huh? I don’t think I’ve seen that before. It kinda looks like Shrek don’t you think?”

“Yeah it does. It might be Shrek’s?” Adora replied.

“Why would Shrek carry a picture of himself as a kid?” Venessa said.

“I don’t know, maybe he has a kid?” Adora guessed.

“I don’t know, let’s just put this in his room.” Venessa said.

“Ok.” Adora said.

They both walked over to the hall and walked down to Shrek’s bedroom. Venessa opened the door and carefully placed the picture on his bed.

“Ok that’s good.” She said leaving the room.

“Anyways, what were you saying about your favorite dessert?”

…

“Squidward, I don’t want you pulling any shenanigans while we’re out.” Elmo spoke in the passenger seat.

“Elmo do you seriously think that I’M the one who’s going to be “pulling shenanigans”.” Squidward said.

“No I d-“

“Good. Now can you shut up, I’m trying to drive.” Squidward cut off.

“Fine.” Elmo mumbled.

As Squidward drove, they both sat in silence.

“You know you can-“

“I don’t want to do sh** Elmo.” Squidward cut off.

“Why are you being so rude! You know, I used to think you were so cool.” Elmo said.

“We’ll I guess some things change, don’t they?”

“Look, I’m sorry ok. I know I was dumb for writing that letter, and trying to go off without you guys.” Elmo began.

“Go on.” Squidward pushed.

“I just was just worried that you didn’t love me the way I loved you.” Elmo mumbled.

“Yeah.” Squidward said.

“Are you not going to surprised?” Elmo questioned.

“… no.” Squidward said angrily.

“Why no-“

“BECAUSE ELMO, you literally told me. You thought I didn’t hear you that one night in etheria?! The “I love you too” bull crap.” Squidward cut off.

“I- uh.” Elmo blushed.

“Look we can move past that, ok. I don’t really want to be with you anymore. No hard feelings, please no more hard feelings.” Squidward said.

“What kind of hard feelings?” Elmo smirked.

“Oh shut up!” Squidward said playfully nudging Elmo to the side.

“Shrek? You think we can actually do this again?” Sea Hawk asked.

“Yes.” Shrek simply replied.

“Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” Sea Hawk asked.

“Driving wise, yes. Relationship wise, no.” Shrek said.

“Ok.” Sea Hawk replied.

There was a pause between them.

“Sea Hawk, what’s gotten into you? You’re acting so weird.” Shrek asked.

“I have something to tell you.” Sea Hawk spoke.

“Of course you do. What is it?” Shrek questioned.

“I’m… pregnant.”

“How?! What! Why?!” Shrek asked.

“You’re the father.” Sea Hawk said.

“WHAT!” Shrek yelled.

All of the sudden the truck was spinning in circles. Shrek was losing control of the the vehicle. They were crashing.

Shrek grabbed his walkie-talkie.

“We need help! We’re crash-“ was all he could say into the device.

“Shrek stop turning the wheel!!” A muffled voice said.

Then everything went black..

Chapter Text

“Barry did you hear that?” Venessa called from the panel room.

“Yes, I’m getting their trucks location through the tracking system.” Berry replied.

“Ok me and Adora will call med staff from the closest space force base, you can stay put.” Venessa instructed.

“What can I do to help?” Adora asked.

“Nothing at this moment, the space software is very complicated. We might need your help at the crash sight though.” Venessa said pressing different buttons.

“Ok we have the trucks location, I’m sending medical professionals.” Venessa said into her walkie-talkie.

She looked over to Adora who was sitting next to her.

“Ok, Berry will tell you what to do, you just have to meet him outside.” Venessa instructed.

“Ok I just go out the door?” Adora asked.

“Yep, Berry will be there to help you.” Venessa said before returning to the control panel.

Adora walked over to the ship door, to see that Berry was there waiting.

“Hi. So we need to get over to Shrek’s and Sea Hawk’s truck. I’m gonna need your help.” Berry said.

“Okay, lead the way.” Adora spoke.

“We have this truck here we can drive.” Berry said showing her the vehicle.

They both got in the truck and drove away from the ship.

Elmo and Squidward were riding in their assigned truck, when all of the sudden there was a loud broadcasting on their walkie-talkies.

It was Shrek. Him and Sea Hawk were crashing!

“What’s going on!” Elmo said in panic.

“They’re crashing dumb*ss.” Squidward snarled back.

“Look now’s not the time.” Elmo said.

“I know, what should we do?” Squidward asked.

They both pondered. Before they could come up with anything, they saw something in the distance. There was a puff of smoke, and a large dark object.

“Go drive up, see what that is!” Elmo instructed.

Squidward started driving faster, the thing got closer. As they got into the smoke, they could see it was truck 2.

“Oh my gosh it’s them! Get out of the car.” Squidward said.

Elmo Immediately jumped out of the vehicle, and ran to help them. Squidward came following after.

He could see Shrek, and Sea Hawk passed out in the front seat.

Elmo could feel tears forming in his eyes. He was crying now, in front of the flipped over car. Squidward walked over to him to give him a side hug.

Elmo picked up his walkie-talkie - still sobbing-, and spoke into it.

“Guys! *sniff* We- fou- *sob* ound them. We found Shrek, and Sea *sniff* Hawk. We’re at their truck right now, it’s flipped over- *sniff* and they’re unconscious.” Elmo let go of the walkie-talkie and cried.

Then, two pairs of headlights showed up.
One of the vehicle’s was the medics, and one was Berry and Adora.

Before He knew it there was a flash of glowing light, and Adora had transformed into her She Ra form. She Ra lifted the truck with ease, and turned it over.

Everyone stared in awe.

“I didn’t know you could do that!” Elmo exclaimed.

“Really?” She asked.

“Yeah what the heck.” Squidward mumbled.

The medics walked over to the vehicle, and pulled Shrek and Sea Hawk out. They put them both on stretchers, before pulling them into the ambulance. Before they shut the door, Adora interrupted.

“Hey um, guys. I should probably come to. I have healing powers too. Like I can pretty much heal anything.”

“That’s, uh.” One of the medics began.

“I literally brought someone back to life once.” She said.

“Ok cmon.” They said, inviting her into the ambulance.

“I’ll come too.” Berry said.

Then Adora got into the ambulance with the medics.

“One of you guys can take the truck back. You can take the supplies out of this one and transfer them.” Berry instructed, before getting into the ambulance.

The ambulance drove off. Elmo and Squidward were stuck together, again.

“Great, more work.” Squidward said sarcastically.

“She can bring people back to life?!” Elmo exclaimed.

“Yeah, now can you help me pack all this crap into that truck?” Squidward said.

“Yeah I can.” Elmo said mocking Squidward.

Awhile later Elmo and Squidward made it back to the ship. Waiting for them was Venessa.

“That absolutely sucked butt.” Squidward complained as they walked through the door.

“Can you please NOT put that image in my mind!” Elmo replied.

Venessa sighed.

“I heard that was ruff for you two.”

“Yeah it was ruff for all of us.” Squidward said.

“Did Shrek and Sea Hawk make it to the hospital ok?” Elmo asked.

“Yeah they’re going to be ok, thanks to She Ra. They just want to run some tests before they can come back to the ship.” Venessa returned.

“Ok.”

Chapter Text

It had been a couple days since the accident, and Shrek, and Sea Hawk were finally ready to come back to the ship. When the medics ran the tests, they found something peculiar. Sea Hawk definitely had some news…

“Sea Hawk!” Elmo exclaimed, rushing to hug the captain as he stepped through the door.

They both shared a hug. Then soon after, Shrek stepped into the ship.

“Shrek oh my gosh you’re ok!” Elmo said hugging Shrek.

Adora, and Berry came walking through the door as well. Elmo stopped hugging Shrek, and let them walk in fully.

“Are you guys ok?” Squidward asked.

“Yeah.” Shrek replied. “Just tired.”

“Ok you should go lay down.” Venessa suggested.

Shrek walked further into the ship, down to his room.

“He had a rough day yesterday in the hospital.” Adora said.

“Yes. It was, intense.” Sea Hawk moped.

As Shrek walked into his room, he immediately noticed something set on his bed. He walked over to pick it up, to see that it was a picture of him. He held it up to the light to get a better look.

Shrek could recognize the picture. It was him as a child, about around the age he was friends with Elmo. He remembers Elmo’s mother taking it.

“Hey Elmo? Can you come in here?” Shrek called.

“Ok!” Elmo called back.

He could hear Elmo’s footsteps down the hall getting closer. Elmo walked into the room.

“Hey, what’s up?” Elmo asked, walking over to Shrek.

Elmo noticed the picture.

“Where did you find that?” Elmo questioned.

“I uh. It was on the bed. I assumed you put it there.” Shrek said.

“…No, I didn’t.” Elmo responded.

“You still have it?” Shrek chuckled.

Elmo awkwardly laughed, and rubbed the back of his neck. “Yeah. It’s special.”

“Hmm.”

“…You know you’re the first real friend I ever had.” Elmo said.

“Really? You were my first friend too.”

They both stood next to the bed looking at the picture.

“Hey Shrek?”

“Yeah?” Shrek replied.

“Do you think we could be.. I don’t know, more than friends?”

“Of course.” Shrek replied.

Shrek’s heart suddenly felt a little warmer.
They both held hands for a moment.

“Hey… um, I think have something to tell you. It’s about Sea Hawk. We should go get him.” Shrek said.

“Ok? Why does Sea Hawk have to be here?” Elmo asked.

“…Just- please don’t be mad.”

“I won’t be.” Elmo promised.

“Hey Sea Hawk! Can you come in here?” Shrek called out.

“I’m on my way!” Sea Hawk said running down the hall.

The captain can rushing in the room.

“What is it?” He asked.

“Should we tell him?” Shrek asked.

Sea Hawk took a breath.

“Ok.” Sea Hawk confirmed.

Chapter Text

“We’re pregnant.” Sea Hawk said.

“What? Wait, who’s we?” Elmo asked.

“No Elmo. Sea Hawk is pregnant.” Shrek said.

“What! That’s so- why did you say we’re though?” Elmo spoke.

“Um it’s,” Sea Hawk began.

Shrek encouraged him to go on with a nod.

“Shrek’s the dad.”

“What?! Shrek I thought we just-“

“I know. I think we can work this out.” Shrek interrupted.

“How long have you known?” Elmo asked.

“Um…” Sea Hawk said awkwardly.

“You know what, it’s fine.” Elmo interrupted.

“Ok? You want to try and figure this out?” Shrek asked.

“What does that even mean?” Elmo asked.

“I don’t know? Talk about how this relationship is gonna work. Kinda seems like you have a crush on everyone at this point.” Shrek spoke.

Elmo blushed. He knew he had his feelings all over the place, but no one had ever called him out on it.

“I do not!” Elmo spoke.

“Yes. You do!” Shrek said.

Elmo sighed.

“Even if I did have a crush on anyone, I can still make up my mind.”

“Elmo. Is there something going on between you two?” Sea Hawk asked.

Elmo and Shrek turned to look at Sea Hawk.

“It’s really okay. I just…” Sea Hawk started.

“I think I’m gonna go check on the others.” Elmo said walking out.

Shrek and Sea Hawk were left in the bedroom by themselves.

“What are we going to do? I can’t raise a kid.” Shrek asked, looking at the picture in his hand.

“Shrek.”

“What?” Shrek replied.

“You don’t have to do it alone.” Sea Hawk assured.

“Do you have any experience with kids?!” Shrek exclaimed.

“No!”

“Then what are you talking abou-“

“Shrek. We have Elmo.” Sea Hawk interrupted.

“No we don’t. We live across the universe from each other!” The ogre exclaimed.

“Space baby adventures!” The captain exclaimed.

“Sea Hawk, no.”

“Heyyy guys.” Elmo said awkwardly entering the room.

Squidward, Vanessa, Barry and Adora turned to look at him.

“Hey.” Vanessa said.

“What’s going on back there?” Barry asked.

“Oh you know. Just figured out that Sea Hawk is pregnant.” Elmo replied.

“Oh… yeah.” Adora said awkwardly before turning around again.

Barry and Vanessa continued doing there pastimes.

Elmo stood in the middle of the room awkwardly.

“You good?” Squidward asked, walking over to Elmo.

“Totally. Why?” Elmo replied.

“You know. The big news.” Squidward spoke.

“Right.” Elmo laughed.

“And… you’re “Totally” okay? Seems like the love of your life isn’t all that into you.” Squidward spoke sitting down on the couch.

“No. You’re right. I guess I’m taken back.” Elmo sighed.

“Mind if I sit?” Elmo asked.

“No, go ahead.” Squidward said offering Elmo room on the couch.

Elmo walked over to Squidward, and sat down.

“You sure you’re not gonna blush too much if I sit close to you?” Squidward asked.

“Oh my gosh stop.” Elmo blushed.

“You think you’re ready to be a dad?” Squidward asked.

“Umm… who said I was gonna be a dad?” Elmo asked.

“Oh c’mon, you seriously think you won’t have anything to do with that baby?” Squidward asked.

“I dunno?” Elmo replied.

Squidward let out I sigh.

“We’ll I’ll be here if you need me.” He said.

“You’ll be on this couch, waiting?” Elmo laughed.

“Sure.” Squidward said.

Squidward wrapped his arm around Elmo.

“I’ll be on the couch.” Squidward said.

Elmo leans him head on Squidward’s shoulder, and closed his eyes.

“Thanks.” He whispered.

Before he knew it, Elmo was dreaming.
Dreaming about the little ogre boy.

Him and Shrek were sailing in the water, in his father’s boat.

“You think pirates will come and take all of our stuff.” Shrek laughed.

Elmo was shoving any of their valuables in a hidden black box.

“Aren’t WE supposed to be the pirates?” Elmo laughed.

He got up and walked over to Shrek.

“Maybe… Only if you’re adventurous enough.” Shrek smirked.

“Okay. I didn’t actually mean we were gonna go out and steal peoples things.” Elmo said.

“So you’re not.” Shrek said,exaggerating the not.

“Pfff I AM.” Elmo said crossing his arms.

“Huh. Okay then. Let’s go steal something.”

“Shrek no!”

“I dare you to steal a necklace! Wait no! A BABY!”

“Shrek… I’m not stealing a baby. I haven’t, and will not; steal anything.”

“You liar.”

“I DIDN’T steal anything!”

“You stole my heart.”

“Aww that’s cute and all, but I’m serious.”

“You don’t want to steal a kid and start a family together?” Shrek asked sarcastically.

“Ha, no.” Elmo lied.

“Oh well. Your loss!” Shrek laughed.

“Hey, um-“*ring*

That’s not what Elmo remembered happening.

*ring*

The ringing noise kept going.

*ring*

——

Elmo shot his eyes open.

*ring*

It was his alarm. He was in his bed now. All Elmo could remember was sitting on the couch with Squidward.

*ring- Elmo turned his alarm off.

Did Squidward bring me back to my bed? Elmo thought.

He sighed, and got out of bed…

Chapter Text

The whole crew was lounging around Vanessa as she talked. It was sort of an unofficial meeting.

“Okay everyone, I know we’ve had a bit of a pause in our trip, because of the accident Shrek and Sea Hawk were in. But don’t worry… we have everything delivered to the space force bases, and are fully prepared to take off today.” Venessa spoke.
.

“This is good practice for you Sea Hawk.” Adora said.
.

“Yes. I guess being an astronaut is harder than I thought.” He replied.
.

Sea Hawk was recovering from the wreck - physically and mentally - on top of that it seemed like the person he loved most was in love with someone else.

Shrek

He looked over to Shrek. Him and Elmo were standing next to each other. Sea Hawk sighed. The way they looked at each other didn’t help Sea Hawk’s confidence in him and Shrek’s relationship.

“How soon do you think we can leave?” Adora asked.
.

“Really anytime we want. I honestly don’t think we should wait till tomorrow.” Vanessa replied.
.

“I think we should leave as soon as possible!” Elmo spoke.
.

“…I’m fine with anything.” Sea Hawk said, forcing a smile.
.

“I’m with Elmo.” Squidward spoke.
.

Sea Hawk swore he heard Squidward mumble something that sounded like “Always”.
.

“Okay well… I guess we shall go.” Vanessa spoke.
.

Everyone was eager to leave the planet, but Sea Hawk had something else on his mind. As everyone started going off to do other things, Sea Hawk walked over to Shrek.

“Hi.” He spoke.
.
Shrek turned around to face the captain.
.
“Hey?” He questioned.
.

“…Shrek, I need to ask you something.”
.

“What is it?” Shrek asked.
.

Sea Hawk looked to the ground.
.

“Tell me.” Shrek insisted.
.

“Do you want me?”
.

There was a pause.
.

“Sea Hawk- I… what?”
.

“What?” Sea Hawk questioned.
.

“I think…”
.

“You think?” Sea Hawk whimpered.
.

Shrek sighed.
.

“This is about Elmo isn’t it.”
.

Sea Hawk looked up at Shrek.
.

“Nothing comes between me and you okay? Now stop crying.” Shre assured.

“You want me right?” Sea asked once more.
.

“I- yes. I do.” Shrek spoke before walking away.
.

Something about the way Shrek said it made it seem insincere. Sea Hawk sighed it off. Shrek literally just told him he wanted HIM, yet it felt off. Shrek assumed it was about Elmo.

It was…
.

It was definitely about Elmo.
.

And it’s not like Sea Hawk wasn’t into Elmo either. Elmo was handsome, and blushed when he was near the captain. But something about Shrek and Elmo intimidated him.

It was time for the crew to take off. Everyone was strapped into their seats, and ready to go. The count down was going, and Sea Hawk was just trying to get it over with.

Before he knew it, they were flying threw space.
.

The captain looked over at Elmo and Shrek.
.

It seemed like they were having a blast. Laughing together, and smiling a LOT. Even Squidward was getting along with them. Sea Hawk didn’t understand how someone like him, could still have fun.

Barry looked over to Sea Hawk.
.

“Exciting right!” He spoke.
.

“Yes!” Sea Hawk said, trying to be as enthusiastic as possible.
.

“How exciting…” he mumbled to himself.

Chapter Text

As they flew through space, the crew kept themselves busy with different hobbies and pastimes. Elmo, Shrek, and Squidward had been getting very fond of playing board games.

“Shrek, that’s cheating! Put the card back!” Elmo laughed.

Squidward took the card out of Shrek’s hand, and placed it on the bottom of the stack he had taken it from.

“There.” Squidward spoke.

“Ugh.. fine. Only cause that card wouldn’t have helped me anyways!” Shrek returned.

“Okay, It’s your turn Squidward.” Elmo spoke.

The three continued to play the board game together, enjoying each other’s company as they laughed. Elmo felt as ease with them, like he could be his own weird self. He had always felt like that around Shrek, and now even more with Squidward. It was like a home away from home.

Before Elmo knew it, He was playing game after game with them. Spending hours upon hours sitting down at the table.
He hadn’t realized how much time had went by until they had to get up because Vanessa called for dinner.

“It’s dinner already? I thought we just played uno!” Squidward exclaimed.

“I know, that was I was thinking!” Elmo said getting out of his seat.

Shrek and Squidward followed him to the kitchen where the rest of the crew was. He noticed how Sea Hawk looked at the three of them. Elmo assumed it was because he was pregnant, and the whole awkwardness around that. But he didn’t think much about it, because the food Vanessa had made was actually fresh this time!

“Taco Tuesday guys! Eat up!” Vanessa exclaimed.

“Oh my gosh I’m hungry!” Shrek said after his stomach made a load rumble.

After grabbing his plate of food, Elmo thanked Vanessa for the meal and returned to the table him and his friends were sitting at.

“Excuse me Elmo, Could I sit here?” A voice spoke beside him.

Elmo looked over to see Sea Hawk standing there, with a plate of tacos.

“Of course.” He replied.

Sea Hawk sat down on the chair next to Elmo’s. He looked sort of uncomfortable with Elmo. Elmo just shrugged it off and began eating.

“Mm this is good don’t ya think?” Elmo asked, looking up to Sea Hawk.

Sea Hawk hadn’t eaten anything. He was just sitting there.

“Uh… sure!” He spoke.

“Do you not like tocos? Wait… DO YOU NOT HAVE TACOS ON ETHERIA?” Elmo asked.

“Oh, yes we do! I like tacos…” The captain replied.

“Okay.” Elmo said before eating his taco again.

A moment later Sea Hawk ran off to the hallway.

“Are you okay?” Elmo called.

He didn’t get a response.

“SEA HAWK!?” Elmo called out.

“Hey, what going on?” Squidward asked, sitting down at the table across from Elmo.

Elmo sighed.

“I don’t know… he just… ran away.” Elmo spoke.

“Huh? He probably just has motion sickness.” Squidward guessed.

“I guess?” Elmo mumbled.

Elmo just left it at that, even though he knew Sea Hawk probably didn’t have motion sickness. A sea captain probably wouldn’t.

“Mmm these tacos are actually really good!” Squidward exclaimed.

“I know right!”

It was late night now, and everyone was getting ready for sleep. Some people getting dressed, most people were brushing there teeth in the crowded bathroom.

Elmo had noticed Adora, Barry, and Vanessa had there own little friend group similar to Elmo, Squidward, and Shrek.

“You having fun on this little space adventure?” Elmo asked Adora after wiping his face off.

“I wouldn’t say little.” Squidward intervened.

“Um, I’m having fun I guess. It’s really nice to hang out with new people!” She returned.

“Yeah I’m teaching her to knit!” Venessa spoke.

“It’s not working.” Adora replied.

“Well, I’m certainly having fun. Thanks for the tacos today, I haven’t had those in awhile.” Squidward said, finishing brushing his teeth.

“Oh definitely!” Vanessa spoke walking out the room.

“Well… I better get to bed. Goodnight.” Adora said before leaving.

“Same, see you tomorrow I guess.” Squidward said.

“Yeah…” Elmo said.

Squidward left the bathroom.

Elmo stood in front of the mirror, looking at his reflection. He smiled, it felt nice. Also weird? He felt conflicted by everything going on, but relaxed from todays events.

And Shrek was showing him so attention. Speaking of Shrek, he walked in the door.
Elmo tried to hide his blush, but failed.

“Hey.” Shrek greeted him.

“…Hey.” Elmo blushed.

Sea Hawk was preparing for bed. He got dressed in his room, before heading down the hall to the bathroom. On his way down he passed Squidward walking to his room.

“Night.” Squidward spoke.

“Oh, yeah. Goodnight.” He said back.

Squidward continued walking down to his room, and Sea Hawk kept walking to the bathroom. Sea Hawk didn’t care for Squidward that much, all he did was cause trouble. Elmo didn’t ever seem to care, especially now that they were hanging out way more often now.

When Sea Hawk got to the bathroom door, he opened it to find the last thing he wanted to see. Shrek and Elmo were making out right in the middle of the bathroom.

“Shrek! What- what’s going on?!” Sea Hawk demanded.

Elmo and Shrek parted from each other. Elmo fumbled back blushing furiously, before rushing out of the bathroom door.

“Sea Hawk, I’m sorry.” Shrek spoke.

“So this is what you’ve been doing? Kissing people, and saying sorry.” Sea Hawk replied.

Shrek sighed.

“No. No- don’t act like that.” Shrek spoke.

Sea Hawk paused.

“You know what, I didn’t really want to brush my teeth anyways.” The captain spoke, before turning around and going to his room again.

He didn’t matter anymore? Did they not catch that he was pregnant? Was that what this was about? Because he was pregnant, and Shrek didn’t want to be a dad?

Sea Hawk stormed into his room, and slammed the door behind him. He got in bed, and tried to forget that he ever did any of this. That he didn’t even break up with Mermista.

A tear rolled down his face.

He closed his eyes.

He slept.

“Adora says she’ll give you one of her pancakes, if you can beat her in an arm wrestle.” Barry told Sea Hawk as he sat down to eat.

“You might as well give her one of mine, I’m not that hungry anyways.” He mumbled.

“Your loss.” Adora said, sitting down next to Barry.

“Hey, um… what happened last night?” She asked him.

“Uh what do you mean?” He asked,
acting dumb.

“I think what Adora means to ask, is why we’re you crying super loudly in your room last night?” Barry spoke.

“Oh- wait I wasn’t crying in my room last night?” He replied.

He didn’t remember crying. Sea Hawk fully assumed they were talking about Shrek and Elmo.

“You definitely were, is everything okay?” Vanessa asked, sitting next to them.

“Well… I don’t remember crying, but if I was, it would probably be about them.” Sea Hawk said, gesturing over to where Elmo, Shrek, and Squidward were.

“I think I remember waking up because of you crying about something along the lines of Shrek is a traitor.” Barry said.

Sea Hawk let out a nervous chuckle.

“I must have been having a bad dream?” He spoke.

“Sure.” Adora said before going back to eating.

Shrek definitely IS a traitor, and Elmo was NOT being any help!

“Do you guys want to play this game with us? We need more players!” Squidward called from across the room.

“Why not?” Adora said, getting out of her seat, and walking over the group.

“C’mon, let’s go.” Vanessa spoke to Sea Hawk and Barry.

They all got up and went to the table that Elmo, Shrek, and Squidward were seated at.

“Okay… me, Shrek, Elmo, Adora, Barry, and Venessa are already playing. That’s six players, witch is the maximum amount you can have. …Sorry Sea Hawk.” Squidward said.

Everyone looked up at Sea Hawk.

“I’m sure we can fit in one more player?” Adora asked.

“No… sorry. We only have six pieces.” Squidward returned.

Sea Hawk sighed.

He thought he could finally get along with them. He thought wrong apparently.

“It’s fine, I’ll just sit over there.” He spoke, before returning to the table he was eating at.

It wasn’t fine! It hadn’t been “fine” for the past few days. Sea Hawk just wanted his friends back, at least Shrek back…

It was late afternoon, and Sea Hawk was sitting on the couch by himself. He was briefly listening to Elmo, Shrek, Squidward’s conversation as they played some kind of card game.

The captain had never felt more stuck, with no boat to light on fire. No Mermista to search after. No alcohol to burn out his feelings. Not like Sea Hawk was even aloud to drink alcohol anyways.

He wanted to sing shanties, and prance around, but everyone in the ship told him otherwise.

“Hey Sea Hawk, what’s going on?” Adora asked, sitting down on the couch.

“Oh hello Adora. Nothing really.” He replied.

“I think those three took all the fun stuff to do.” She said, gesturing to Elmo, Shrek, and Squidward.

“I’m afraid they have.” The captain replied.

“… Do you think Elmo and Squidward are together?” Adora pondered.

“I wish.” Sea Hawk replied.

“Why do you wish they were together?” Adora asked him.

“I- I don’t know. I just wish the best for Elmo.” The captain replied.

That was technically true. He did wish the best for Elmo, but that’s not why he wanted them together. It was because Shrek and Elmo were obviously in love with each other, and they never wanted to hang out with Sea Hawk.

Squidward, Shrek, and Elmo constantly played games with each other, and got along so well.

Sea Hawk was supposed to be the fun guy. He wanted them to like him.

At least he had one of his friends with him…

It was early morning, and only three people were awake. Adora, Elmo, and Sea Hawk. Adora was in the the kitchen, making her 4th cup of coffee. Elmo was in the bathroom, taking a shower. And Sea Hawk was getting reading to brush his teeth.

Sea Hawk knocked on the door of the bathroom.

“Elmo, can I come in and brush my teeth?” He asked.

A muffled “yes” came from the other side of the door.

Sea Hawk carefully opened the door, and walked into the bathroom. Elmo was blocked by a shower curtain.

Sea Hawk began brushing his teeth, when he noticed Elmo’s phone on the countertop. It was turned on, and the screen displayed a messaging app of some kind.

Sea Hawk picked up the phone to get a better look. It was a text conversation with a man named Mark.

Interesting, Sea Hawk thought. Why would Elmo be talking to someone romantically if he already had three guys waiting for him?

Sea Hawk clicked out of the conversation to see that the app was Tinder. A dating app. Sea Hawk had heard of it before, and that you could swipe to find people.

He looked over to the shower, and looked back at Elmo’s phone.

“I’m gonna go out to the lounge.” The captain spoke.

“Okay.” Elmo said from the shower.

Sea Hawk left the restroom, with Elmo’s phone in his hand. He closed the door and walked down the hall to the lounge. Sea Hawk sat down on the couch, and looked at the phone.

“Let’s see…” He mumbled.

Sea Hawk started swiping on different profiles.

"Ahh." Elmo said as he relaxed in the shower. It was small but remained peaceful and calm. He heard the door open. "Elmo, can I come in a brush my teeth?" It was sea hawk. "Yes!" Elmo said tried to say as loudly as possible. Sea Hawk entered and Elmo her running water and faint brushing. A few seconds later,

“Sea Hawk, did you take my phone?!” Elmo
shouted, walking down to his room.

“No!” Sea Hawk replied.

“Then exactly WHY was it on the couch, and WHY was there a chat open with MERMISTA?” Elmo returned.

“I- Elmo- I am so deeply sorry. I shouldn’t have gone on your phone!” Sea Hawk stuttered.

“YOU WENT THROUGH MY PHONE!?” Elmo bellowed

“No- I!” Sea Hawk stuttered.

Shrek was woken up by a muffled fight between Sea Hawk and Elmo. His ears were paying attention to the yelling, but his brain was completely confused on why people were screaming this early in the morning.

Shrek opened his eyes fully, after hearing someone stop them.

“What have you gotten up to now?” Shrek mumbled to himself.

Then out of nowhere, Elmo burst into his room. Elmo stomped over to Shrek’s bed.

“Elmo! What are you doing?” He spoke.

“Shrek, do you think it’s okay to go through someone’s phone withOUT their permission?” Elmo asked passive aggressively.

“Uhh- I guess not?” Shrek said nervously, wondering what he did wrong.

“EXACTLY.” Elmo said loud enough that everyone could hear.

“Elmo? What’s going on?” Shrek whispered.

“Sea Hawk went through my phone while I was in the shower, and he started talking to people!” Elmo answered.

“Why would be do that?” Shrek asked.

“Don’t ask me!” Elmo replied.

“Look Elmo, don’t worry. There probably wasn’t anything on there that he even cares about.” Shrek spoke.

“But he was on Tinder, and he was talking to Mermista!” Elmo replied.

“What…” Shrek deadpanned.

“… Yeah, he was talking to Mermista.” Elmo said.

“First of all, why do you have Tinder?” Shrek asked.

“I- I just have it?” Elmo answered.

“Also, why was he talking to Mermista? I thought- I thought-…” Shrek began.

“I know, I thought you were together. I’m not sure he was talking to her romantically, but it was literally on a dating app.” Elmo spoke.

Shrek sighed.

“Look, can I just get dressed, and meet you out there.” Shrek said.

As Shrek walked out to the lounge, he saw Elmo, Sea Hawk, and Adora sitting on the couch. Sea Hawk had a worried look on his face.

“Good morning, Shrek.” Adora said plainly.

“Yeah.” He responded.

Shrek walked over to the the couch. He stood in front of Sea Hawk.

“Sea Hawk, Elmo told me what happened.” He spoke.

“I know, I said I was sorry! I feel like a doo doo.” He said.

“Umm- okay then. I don’t think I should be involved in this situation. It’s Elmo’s phone, not mine.” Shrek spoke, before going to the kitchen.

“Why did you even take my phone in the first place!?” Shrek could hear Elmo say from the kitchen.

“I was curious.” Sea Hawk replied.

“What if there was things on there I didn’t want you to see!” Elmo said.

“Well I didn’t go through your phone! I just saw that Tinder was open, and I wanted to see how it worked!” Sea Hawk defended.

Shrek was taken back. Was Elmo trying to find someone to date on Tinder? Was Sea Hawk trying to find someone to date?

“Why were you talking to someone on a dating app?” Sea Hawk asked.

“That none of your business.” Elmo replied.

“What’s going on?” Shrek could hear Squidward’s voice say.

Shrek returned to the lounge.

“What?” Squidward asked Shrek.

“Sea Hawk went through- sorry TOOK Elmo’s phone, and started talking to someone on Tinder.” He replied.

“Mermista.” Elmo corrected.

“Wait, why do you have Tinder?” Squidward turned to Elmo.

“CAN PEOPLE STOP ASKING ME THAT?” Elmo spoke, before stomping off to the hallway.

“Okay? But why does he have Tinder?!” Squidward whisper shouted.

“I don’t know, but I need more coffee.” Adora said, before running off to the kitchen.

“I’m going with her.” Squidward said.

A moment later, it was just Sea Hawk and Shrek, silent in the room together.

“I didn’t mean to do anything!” Sea Hawk cried.

Shrek sighed.

“Is this about what happened the other day?” Shrek asked.

“I- I don’t know, I was just curious.” Sea Hawk returned.

“Sea Hawk, I promise me and Elmo are not together.” Shrek said.

“Shrek, I don’t believe you.” Sea Hawk replied.

“I understand why, I just need you to know we’re not.” Shrek stated.

“Okay.” Sea Hawk replied.

Shrek went over to the kitchen.

It was afternoon now, and everyone was awake. Squidward, Shrek, and Elmo were playing board games, as usual. Barry was off planing something, and Adora was in the lounge with Vanessa, learning how to knit.

“Huhhh.” Sea Hawk said.

He was so bored. What to do? Sea Hawk thought. He paced back and forth in the lounge. Sea Hawk walked up to a chair, and turned around to walk to another.

“Sea Hawk, Could you go somewhere else and do that?” Adora asked.

“I’m sorry, I will… leave.” Sea Hawk spoke, before going off to the hallway.

As he walked he looked into each room. What to do? He asked. Sea Hawk walked into the bathroom.

“What’s in here?” He mumbled as he looked around.

Sea Hawk opened up a drawer, inside was myriad of things. A tube of toothpaste, some hair bands, a hairbrush, and a zippered bag. Sea Hawk look the bag and opened it. It was filled with cosmetics. Sea Hawk dug through the lipsticks, and eye powders.

He took out a bright red lipstick, and smeared it on his lips.

The door opened, and Barry walked in.

Sea Hawk stared at him.

“I have to go to the bathroom…”Barry spoke.

“Oh sorry.” Sea Hawk said, putting the makeup back.

“What are you doing with Vanessa’s makeup?” He asked.

“Nothing!” Sea Hawk replied, walking out of the bathroom.

Sea Hawk sashayed over to where Elmo, Shrek, and Squidward were. Squidward glanced up at him.

“Would you like to hear a shanty?” He called out.

No one answered. Sea Hawk took that as an opportunity.

“I am a sailor yes I am, you’d never seen me in-“

“Could you be quiet?!” Shrek interrupted.

“Fine!” Sea Hawk said, before going quiet.

“Sea Hawk, what’s on your lips?” Squidward questioned.

“What?…Oh yeah, that. It’s lipstick.” Sea Hawk said.

The three stared at him.

“Wanna arm wrestle?” He asked.

“Maybe later.” Squidward spoke.

“Fine.” Sea Hawk huffed before walking away.

Sea Hawk walked over to the lounge, and sat down on one of the chairs.

“What are you two doing?” He asked Vanessa and Adora.

“We’re knitting a hat for the baby!” Vanessa spoke.

Sea Hawk’s eyes lit up. They were knitting a hat for him.

“That’s adorable! Let me see!” He replied, getting up to see the hat.

“I know right, my baby is going to be spoiled.” She spoke rubbing her stomach.

“Oh.” He mumbled.

Right… her baby.

“So cute.” He said before returning to his chair.

If this day couldn’t get ANY worse.

“GUYS?” Squidward called out.

“What?” Adora asked, looking back at Squidward.

Everyone looked over to Squidward.

“What’s that?” He asked pointing out the window.

Everyone got up and ran towards the window. Outside of it was a ship, a fairly large one.

“What is that thing?” Shrek asked.

“Do you know what kind of ship that is?” Sea Hawk asked.

“No.” Squidward said shaking his head.

“Nope.” Elmo replied.

“I have never seen that in my entire life.” Adora spoke.

Then, Barry came walking out of the hallway and into the lounge.

“What’s going on guys?” He asked, walking over to everyone.

“It’s another space ship!” Vanessa exclaimed.

“What!?” Barry spoke, peering out the window.

“Oh!” Adora exclaimed. “I know that ship! It’s the travel hospital.”
“Wow!” Vanessa said. “They came all this way.” She cooed.
“They came all this way!” Sea Hawk mocked high pitched in his mind.

Always about her! Never about anyone else. Sea Hawk remembered the hat. And how the bored game gang mentioned that they would teach the baby how to play Uno when it came. Ugh.

Sea Hawk walked away. He was confused again. How? How was he pregnant? He can be. His stomach has gotten slightly bigger. He’s gained more weight. To be honest, he didn’t want the baby. He was sick of this not knowing. Vanessa on the other hand was as excited as frick.

“I can’t wait! That ship is amazing. How did they find us?” Vanessa squealed.
“Oh shut up.” Sea Hawk thought.

“Do you think we should go over and explore?” Shrek said.
“You mean go over and barge in?” Squidward laughed.
“Shrek does have a tendency to do that..” Elmo remarked.
A few chuckles sprouted from the quiet room. “Ok let’s check it out.” Adora said.
“You sure?” Barry asked. “We can just walk in?”
“Yes.” Adora replied. “My guy, I save Etheria. I think I can walk into a hospital and not get kicked out.”
“Right!” Barry laughed.

“Hello!” The nurse in the lobby said. “How may I hel- Adora! How great to see you! What are you doing in space?”

As Adora was explaining, the rest of the crew looked a round. Everything was light happy colors, purple pink cream.. I was beautiful. There blue water falls, beside them matching chairs. Adora looked back for a second. The whole crew looked at her as she gestured at the chairs. The crew look a slowly walked over to them. The bored game gang sat all by each other, Elmo in the middle. Barry and Vanessa sat in another section. And Sea Hawk walked over to Adora.

“Hey.. um.. I have and idea for the crew.”
“And that would be..?” Adora asked.
“What if we all did check ups for everyone. That is if your not to busy..” Sea Hawk said looking at the nurse.
“Not at all! Anything for the king and.. well.. Shera!” She chuckled.
“Great!” Adora said.
“Ok.” The nurse replied. “I will contact the staff.

Sea Hawk looked around. He read a few of the announcements on the bulletin bored to see if there was anything interesting..

“Haha. That’s nuzzle.” Sea Hawk joined in. “I’m thinking of the thing you put on an animal to make the quiet.”
“No. That’s a muzzle. I’m thinking of..”

The game continued like that for a while after.

“This will be so fun. I can’t wait for the die date.” Barry said happily.
“Me to!” Vanessa replied back. “To think a flying hospital came all this way from Etheria. Gosh!”
“Yeah.” Barry smiled.

“Ok!” Mrs. Ranterbell said. “I got your rooms set up. You all have separate room on the east side. I show you.”

The crew walked over and in to a large hallway. “Ok.. you three will go in here, and you two will go here and you two left will go here. Ok! Good night everyone!” She said before leaving.

The rooms where like the lobby. Simple yet charming. They weren’t hospital rooms just staff rooms. The beds where nice and there where some snacks on the bedside table. A few gram crackers and some apple slices. Along with a bottle of water.

Everyone fell asleep rather quickly and sleepers peacefully all night.

After Sea Hawk’s assigned nurse was done with a general check up, they sat down to talk.

“So.. is there anything you would like to discuss?” The nurse asked.
“Um, yes actually.” Sea Hawk started.

Sea Hawk knew he wanted to talk about his pregnancy, but he wasn’t sure what he wanted to ask. Sea Hawk just wanted to talk about it to someone, maybe even just to talk to someone about anything really.

“Well… I am pregnant.” He spoke.
“Yes, I noticed that.” The nurse responded.
“I’m just, not sure what to ask?” Sea Hawk admitted.
“Okay, would you like to check up on the baby? We could do an ultrasound.” The nurse offered.
“Yes.” He replied.
“Okay, let’s head over to a different room.” She spoke.

The nurse lead Sea Hawk down a few hallways. She stopped in front of a door.

“Here.” She spoke.

The nurse knocked on the door, before walking in.

“You can have a seat.” She said, gesturing to the bed.

Sea Hawk nervously sat down on the edge of the bed. He twiddled with his thumbs a bit, waiting for the nurse. After a moment of waiting, the nurse walked over to Sea Hawk.

“Sea Hawk, Dr. Jellyfish is here to see you.” The nurse spoke.

A woman walked into the room.

“Hi, I’m Dr. Jellyfish, I’m going to be your sonographer today.” She said shaking Sea Hawk’s hand.

“Hello.” He replied.

“Okay, are you ready to get started?” Dr. Jellyfish asked.

“Yes.” He replied.

Sea Hawk was finished with ultrasound, and he needed to go out and face everyone, even if he didn’t want to.
As Sea Hawk walked out of the room, he felt completely embarrassed. Dr. Jellyfish helped him to the lobby. Walking through the hallways, he could see the room they had given to Vanessa, that b***h. Sea Hawk rolled his eyes.

He probably shouldn’t be calling a pregnant woman that, but she was clearly trying something with Sea Hawk.

When Sea Hawk got back to the waiting room, he saw the “Board Game Gang” all waiting in seats next to each other. Sea Hawk didn’t say anything, he just walked over to them and sat down across from Shrek. They were all not paying attention to one another. Squidward was reading a magazine. Shrek was staring at something in the distance. Elmo was playing candy crush on his phone.

“Oh hey Sea Hawk, didn’t see you there.” Shrek spoke.

“Yeah hi.” Sea Hawk replied.

He was really trying to avoid the thing tearing apart his brain. He must have been making a face, because Shrek spoke up.

“Are you doing okay?” Shrek asked.

“Um… I-“ Sea Hawk stuttered.

“Do you want to go somewhere else.” Shrek asked.

Sea Hawk nodded his head.

Shrek took Sea Hawk’s hand, and they both walked away from the waiting room.

“Wait, where are you going?” He could hear Elmo say.

When Shrek and Sea Hawk reached a shaded corner of the wall, Sea Hawk started crying. Shrek leaned over and gave him a hug.

“What’s wrong?” Shrek asked.

“..I’m… I’m not pregnant!” Sea Hawk sobbed a little louder than he would’ve wanted to.

“What do you mean?” Shrek asked, pulling Sea Hawk back to look at him.

“I mean, I’m not pregnant! There wasn’t a baby!” Sea Hawk said, a tear rolling down his cheek.

“Okay… did you have a miscarriage?” Shrek asked as politely as he possibly could.

“Yes! I feel so weird, and lonely! What am I going to do Shrek?” Sea Hawk spoke.

“Oh, I’m so sorry Sea Hawk.” Shrek said, hugging Sea Hawk again.

“I’m gonna have to mourn for someone who didn’t exist! I feel so stupid.” Sea Hawk replied.

“Hey, you’re not stupid.” Shrek assured.

“But- I-“ Sea Hawk blurted.

Sea Hawk went silent. He hugged Shrek back.

After a long moment, Sea Hawk and Shrek walked back to the waiting room. Waiting there, was the other members of the board game gang, Adora, Barry, and Vanessa. ”Oh no.” Sea Hawk thought. What would Vanessa think? Sea Hawk wasn’t pregnant, and it DEFINITELY wasn’t a competition, but he felt embarrassed that he had lost somehow. It’s not a competition. Sea Hawk reminded himself. Why would he think it was? It wasn’t?

“Hello.” Vanessa spoke, throwing Sea Hawk a sly smirk.

“Um… hi.” He replied.

“Do you want the good news, or the bad news?…Oh who am I kidding, they’re both good news.” Vanessa spoke.

“I already know what it is!” Elmo interrupted.

“Okay, tell us.” Shrek smiled.

“First good news, the baby is a girl. Second good news… it’s twins!” Vanessa announced.

“Wow!” Shrek and Sea Hawk said at the same time.
Shrek sounded a bit more enthusiastic than Sea Hawk.

“Yeah, I’m gonna be SUPER pregnant.” Vanessa said, rubbing her baby bump.

WAS SHE A PSYCHIC?! Was her body a psychic? Was that even a thing? Sea Hawk just wanted to cry. Why was everyone doing so much better than him, even though they’re all just stuck in the same spaceship? Why did they all make friends with each other?! Why did they have hobbies, and they actually had a good time?! Sea Hawk couldn’t do ANY of the things HE wanted to do! No shanties, no dancing, no stories, no pretending to fight people with fake swords! WHY couldn’t he just have something? WHY- WHY…… why…

Sea Hawk looked up to see Vanessa, she had the most regretful face. Sea Hawk noticed that his eyes were completely blurry from tears. He was crying all over himself. Elmo had a worried look on his face, as he went to hug Sea Hawk.

What did he do? What did he say, for them to suddenly start caring?

Shrek also hugged Sea Hawk, then Squidward did… and then Barry… Was Vanessa going to try and hug Sea Hawk too?

“I’m sorry Sea Hawk.” Elmo cried.

“For what?” Sea Hawk asked, genuinely confused.

“Just… I’ve been a jerk to you. And I shouldn’t have treated you that way, when you looked on my phone.” Elmo spoke.

“Is someone telling you to say this?” Sea Hawk asked, stepping out of the hug.

“No. I’m really sorry.” Elmo replied.

“I’m also sorry.” Squidward spoke up.

“Really?” Sea Hawk asked.

“Yes, I acted so selfish when Elmo tried to leave, and I yelled at you. A lot. I’m sorry.” Squidward finished.

“I’m also sorry, Sea Hawk. I know I wasn’t a very good host, I wasn’t making sure you were okaey. I just hope we can be better friends.” Barry spoke.

“I’m not really sure what I’d be sorry for, but if I did something to hurt you, I’m sorry.” Adora spoke.

“If we’re doing the whole apologize thing, umm, I am really sorry Sea Hawk. I shouldn’t have kissed you on FarFarAway. I shouldn’t have kissed Elmo either, and I know I shouldn’t have left you alone this whole trip. I’m sorry I wasn’t spending time with you, and showing you how much I care, because I really do.” Shrek apologized.

Sea Hawk smiled.

“I think we should’ve said it sooner. We are so sorry.” Barry said.

Sea Hawk turned over to Vanessa, expecting an apology from her, but she just stood there.

“Oh, Sea Hawk it’s okay, you don’t have to apologize to me.” Vanessa spoke in the most innocent voice.

HOW DARE SHE! Why would Sea Hawk apologize to HER!

“Um, okay.” Sea Hawk turned back towards the rest of the group, “I accept your apologies guys, thanks.” Sea Hawk said.

Shrek looked back over to Sea Hawk. “We’ll talk later.” He mouthed. Sea Hawk nodded his head.

Everyone was done with their check ups, and everything seemed to be in line. They all were back on the ship, taking a break from outer space.

Shrek and Sea Hawk were having a chat in Shrek’s room.

“I really thought I was pregnant! I don’t know what happened.” Sea Hawk moped.

“I know. We’ll be okay though.” Shrek assured.

Sea Hawk sighed.

“I know it wasn’t planned, and we never wanted kids together, but I was really looking forward to this. Having a baby, taking it on adventures, and sailing together. We could’ve really been a family. I just don’t know what to look forward to anymore.” Sea Hawk cried.

“I know.” Shrek spoke.

Sea Hawk cried even more. Shrek immediately went to hug him.

“It’s okay Sea Hawk, don’t cry.” Shrek tried comforting him.

“Shrek, I don’t think I’m going to be able to stop crying, I think I just need to cry.” Sea Hawk replied.

“Okay, well… is there anything that would make you feel better?” Shrek asked.

“Um, I would usually say alcohol, but I know we aren’t aloud any on the ship.” Sea Hawk sat down on Shrek’s bed.

“Okay, how about I go get you a glass of water?” Shrek offered.

Sea Hawk nodded his head. Shrek turned to the door to go to the kitchen, but before he could open it, it opened its self. Elmo peeped in.

“Hey, Shrek could you meet me and Squidward in the lounge? We wanted to continue playing monopoly.” Elmo spoke.

Elmo looked over to the tear stained, Sea Hawk sitting on the bed. He glanced back at Shrek with a worried look. Shrek just shook his head, before walking out the room, and lightly shutting the door.

Elmo POV:

“Shrek?” Elmo called out, following him to the kitchen.

“Shrek what happened?” Elmo asked beside Shrek.

Shrek was filling a large glass with water. He look a little annoyed? No, sad. Elmo couldn’t tell what he was feeling. It was definitely a negative emotion.

Shrek turned around with the glass of water in his hand. He looked at Elmo.

“Don’t worry about okay? You worry too much.” Shrek said before walking away.

That was true, Elmo did worry a lot. He stood in the kitchen, watching Shrek walk back down the hallway to his room. Why was Sea Hawk crying? Elmo thought. Elmo ran after Shrek. Shrek was about to walk into his room.

“Why is Sea Hawk crying?” Elmo asked.

Shrek glared at him. Did he say something wrong?

“Don’t worry about it, also, I don’t think I can play monopoly tonight.” Shrek replied before walking into his bedroom, and closing the door.

Elmo stood in front of the door for a moment longer, before turning around and going back to the lounge. Squidward had set up the game on the floor, with all of the pieces spread out. He looked excited to play, it was kinda cute.

“What?” Squidward asked.

“Nothing.” Elmo blushed.

“Not about you staring at me idiot. What happened with Shrek?

“Oh, yeah, he can’t play tonight. Something happened with Sea Hawk, must pregnancy hormones or something.” Elmo responded.

“Oh?” Squidward questioned.

“Yeah…” Elmo said awkwardly.

“Well, it’s just us I guess. Could you help me pack this up?” Squidward said.

“Sure.” Elmo responded.

Elmo walked over to where Squidward was, and sat down. They both picked up pieces, and cards, to put them away. Squidward folded up the board, and placed it in the box.

Elmo stared at him, as Squidward did most of the work. Squidward put everything away, and set the box aside.

“What are you looking at?” Squidward smirked.

“I was just waiting.” Elmo spoke.

“Elmo?” Squidward spoke in a alluring tone.

“Yes?” Elmo grinned.

“Are you sure the nurse did a proper check up? Because you haven’t blushed in awhile.” Squidward joked.

Elmo chuckled. He nudged Squidward.

“Oh come on, I thought you were gonna say something meaningful.” Elmo spoke.

“Oh, you thought I would say something meaningful? What would I say that would be “meaningful”?” Squidward joked.

“I love you.” Would be meaningful. Elmo thought.

He didn’t say that out loud…

“Nothing.” Elmo shook his head.

Squidward placed his hand on top on Elmo’s. Elmo looked at the hand, then back at Squidward. Elmo shot him a questioning look. Squidward looked down at their hands, then back at Elmo. Squidward’s grin was ever wider. Elmo could feel their fingers intertwining.

All of the sudden their faces were being pressed together in a kiss.

“It’s fine.” Sea Hawk sniffed to himself.

“It’s fine. I’m fine!” He said standing up.

He started a conversation with him self in his mind.

“Its fine. You were fine before you found out. But.. you wanted the baby..

No. It was too weird.

I am not turning into reality T.V.

You mean there would be a show called “man having baby and can direct misdirected love to it now?”

No.

It would be called loser having problems.

No.

Loser being happy.

No!

I don’t want a freaking baby. Shrek doesn’t care, nor does Elmo. So I don’t care either. Im FINE.

If you say so.”

The other voice faded. Now only leaving the one that does the care for no baby.

Sea hawk walked out into the hallway. He stopped in Shreks room.

“Hello?” Shrek said as he peered up to look a him.

“Yeah. Hi. I’m hear to say something. We need to break up. Ok.”

“I uh… ok.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. We needed to. I’m married.”

“Right.”

“Bye.”

Sea hawk left the room and bumped into Squidward.

“Hey! I’m surprised your not of kissing Elmo!” Sea hawk laughed.

“That’s not how it works.” Squidward mumbled.

“Hey sorry. I didn’t mean anything.”

“Yeah I know.” He smiled.

*Awkward moment of silence*

“If Elmo were here he would be blushing.”
Squidward blurted.

“Haha! Yeah.”

Sea Hawk’s face got hot a he started to sweat a little. He looked down.
“Is this what blushing feels like?” Sea Hawk thought.

“Bye.” Squidward said in a tone he had only used for Elmo. He gave a smirk and a wave and went off.

Sea hawk turned to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. He saw a small tint of red on his cheeks.

POV: Elmo

“Wait.” Elmo said as he pulled away. “Nope.”

“What?” Squidward said.

“I’m in like 5 relationships. I just don’t need that drama.”

“Elmo, what?”

“Ok, I need to stop being so reckless. Im just passing my love around Willy nilly.”

“So..”

“I just.. need a quick break. Ok?”

“Right.” Squidward said with a hurt tone.
“Thanks for explaining.” He said and walked away.

“Ok.” Elmo thought.
“Relationship status: 0. Wow.”
Elmo wandered around. Pacing.

“Ok! Yay! Free. This is nice. A moment to myself.” Elmo thought relaxed.

“Omg..” Elmo whispered when he saw Mark for the first time in what felt like forever.
“You have a beard!” Elmo exclaimed.
“Yeah. I lost my shaver and liked the look.”
Mark said.

Elmo was in shock. Marks voice was so familiar, yet so far away. Everything about him was so..

“So.. how’s everyone on the ship doing? Heard Vanessa was pregnant.”
“Wha- how did you know?”
“That girl has more social media accounts as than a dog does hairs.”
“Haha..” Elmo laughed a slow deep laugh.

Mark was his best friend. And still is. It’s like nothing ever happened. His quotes.. smexy as always.

“I think people are coming back out. I have to go.” Elmo spoke.
“Aww..” Mark complained.
“I’ll be back to earth in a few days..” Elmo assured him.
“Bye.. Elmo.” Mark said.
“Yeah. Bye.” He said and hung up.

Sea Hawk and Squidward walked out together. A string of jealousy hit Elmo, then faded. They where talking about.. cats?

“Wait.. you can have cats.. as pets?” Sea Hawk asked.

“Yeah. I cat sit my neighbors cat all the time. His name is SpongeBob. I have a photo..” Squidward said pulling out his phone.
“Show me!”
“Ok here.” He said giving him the phone. Sea Hawks mouth dropped.
“I. Need. One. I need a cat now.”
“Umm.. sure. You can talk to some shelters on Earth. And you can loo-“
“No. Now. I need a cat now.”
“Um.” Elmo popped in, “we’re right by a planet. We can stop to see if they have shelters..”
“YES. NOW.” Sea Hawk replied and stood up.
“Umm ok.” Squidward shrugged.
“Hey Barry?” Elmo said.
“Yeah?” He replied popping out a bedroom door.
“How do you do… this?” Elmo said pointing to the many buttons on the control panel.
“Um. Why?”
“We need to stop at the near by planet t-“
“Get me a CAT.” Sea Hawk interrupted.
“Oh. Fine.” Barry chuckled.

Barry walked over and clicked a few buttons. The ship jerked forward slightly and started moving.

“Ok. We’ll be there in about ten minutes.”
“Sweet.” Sea hawk drawled out, and sat down as Barry walked back into his room.

POV: Barry

The ship jerked forward slightly.
“We’ll be there in about ten minutes.”
“Sweet.” Sea hawk said and sat down.

Barry walked back into his room, him and Vanessa shared one. When he walked in, she was scowling on the bed.

“Honey, what’s wrong?” He asked.
“Nothing.” She replied.
“Really? Ok.” he said and walked towards the doorway.
“Wait! It’s just that I called the hospital ship to say thank you for their care and how they where so kind to show up for a pregnant woman without being asked.. and it turns out.. they where there for Sea Hawk.”
“Oh. And that’s a bad thing?” Barry said sitting on the bed with her.
“I just.. don’t like him! He acts so “sad” all the time. And just to get attention.”
“Hon, he just lost the baby he never had. Can’t you give him some gratitude?”
“No! If I’m going to give him anything, it would be the middle finger.”
“Um maybe not the best thing to shout when someone’s just done the hall?”
“Ugh! I just wanted it to be for me. I’m the one who’s pregnant.”
“There were two a few days ago.”
“I hope you mean two as in the twins. Ok. I just need some time.” She growled.
“I think you need to talk about your distaste towards Sea Haw-.”
“Leave. Just..”
“Fine.” Barry spoke.

“Hi! I’m Vanessa Benson.”
“Yes hello! I remember you from last week.”
“Yes. I just wanted to say thank you.”
“For what?”
“You came and offered a pregnant woman assistance.”
“What?”
“You know. You tracked me down to help with my twins.”
“Um. We weren’t there for you.”
“What?” Vanessa said, tension in her voice.
“We where there.. for king Sea Hawk.”
“I- fine. If you want to believe he’s something then fine.”
“Excuse me?”
“He’s not pregnant, he’s nothing, he’s IRRELEVANT.”
“That’s so rude!”
“Sorry not sorry. But I don’t give a s*** about him.”
“Ma’am. You are no longer aloud at the bright moon traveling hospital. Or in fact, ANY hospital on Etheria.”
“Wha-.”
“Good day.”

“Guys, taking EVEN more detours is gonna waste our time, we’re so close to earth we could just wait.” Vanessa spoke looking out the window.

“Vanessa, we’re already headed towards the planet. Sea Hawk just wants a cat, are you allergic?” Elmo asked.

Vanessa huffed.

“…No..” She sighed.

“Okay then.” Elmo said, continuing to mess with the navigation panel.

“Everyone needs to get ready to land.” Elmo called out.

“Okayyy.” Adora said from the lounge.

Vanessa rolled her eyes. “I’m not going onto that planet, just get a cat without me.” She said.

Everyone went over to the cargo room to put on their spacesuits. They all helped each other zip up different pockets, and strap in their boots. Everyone strapped into their seats to land. Vanessa looked very annoyed, but still complied by strapping into her seat. The count down went off, before they landed on the planet.

Sea Hawk was so excited to find a cat, he strapped out of his seat immediately.

“Okay, this planet is called Rubert. There is an animal shelter not to far from the landing sight. If we want to make it back in outer space in time, we’ll have to leave right away.” Barry informed.

“Adventure!” Sea Hawk exclaimed, pointing towards the door.

Shrek, Sea Hawk, Elmo, and Barry gathered by the door. They were about to head out and find Sea Hawk a cat.

“Bye losers.” Squidward waved.

Elmo huffed. “Yeah, bye.”

As they arrived at the shelter, Sea Hawk opened the door. Everyone walked inside. There was a desk in front of the main entrance, and there was someone sitting behind it.

“Hello?” They spoke.

“Hi, we’re here to find a cat.” Barry spoke.

“Okay then… follow me.” They said, standing up, and walking around the desk.

They walked through a couple different hallways, before finding the cat section. There was many different cats there, just waiting for Sea Hawk to see. Sea Hawk ecstatically ran up to a brown cat, and asked if he could touch it. The person assisting them opened up the cage it was in, and let Sea Hawk play with it. The cat nudged Sea Hawk with its head, and purred when he started petting it. Sea Hawk’s eyes were shining with excitement.

“That’s Rubert.” They said. “We named him after the planet.”

Sea Hawk looked up at the rest of them. Elmo nodded his head in agreement.

“I want this one.” Sea Hawk spoke.

“Alright then, let’s fill out the paperwork, and you can be on your way.” The person spoke, leading them to an office.

As Elmo, Sea Hawk, Barry, and Shrek walked into the spaceship, everyone huddled over the cat. Sea Hawk was holding Rubert in his arms. They closed the door, and walked over to the lounge with all of their new cat supplies.

“Awww… it’s so cute!” Adora spoke, petting Ruburt.

Vanessa scoffed, but Sea Hawk ignored her. They all started playing with the cat, and gave him pets. Rubert loved all of the attention.

“Great, you got a cat. Let’s head off to earth now.” Vanessa said sarcastically.

Everyone complied, and they got ready for take off.

It was the day before the landing. The ship was flying through space going back to Earth. Adora had the great idea to call Bright Moon on her phone. So everyone was listening to Adora talk to Catra in the lounge.

“It’s ringing.” Adora said slightly confused.
“It’s supposed to do that.”Squidwaed reassured.
“Ok.. she picked up.”
“Click the small microphone button.” Shrek instructed.
“Hello?” Catra’s voice bellowed through the phone.
“Catra?” Adora’s voice wavered.
Catra chuckled.
“Hey Adora.” She said in a relived tone.

After about 20 minutes of talking, Adora hung up.

“How was that?” Squidward asked.
“Amazing. I’ve never used a phone before but, I love it. We talked about everything.”
“In 20 minutes? Wow.” Shrek commented.
“Very funny. But we talked about ho-.”

“Guys! I felt a kick!” Vanessa shouted.
Adora, Shrek, and Barry looked at her.
“Um.. wonderful!” Adora spoke.
They all walked over. Except for Sea Hawk.

“Um. Rude. She was talking.” Sea Hawk said in his mind. She was so mean. Can’t someone else talk? Can someone else be the center of attention?

“Sea hawk? Aren’t you coming?” Squidward asked.

“GOD no.”
“Rude!” Vanessa said. “I’m pregnant, can’t you have a little respect?”

“Sorry, no can do. I can’t give respect to
someone who called me nothing.”

“What accusations!”

“You called me irrelevant!” Sea hawk stated standing up. “Oh yeah. No biggie!”

“You need to shut your mouth.”

“Pfh. And you ask me to give you respect.”

“What?! Stop! I am a woman. I-.”

“Stop. Stop! You think your this mighty goddess. Your NOT. Your just a person. A person you happens to be pregnant! So shut the h*** up about it.”

“I will not tolerate this! I’m getting rid of that cat!”

“What?! Rubert is a part of the crew!”

“The second we pass by another planet, it’s GONE.”

Sea hawk was stunned. Did nothing he say matter? Everything Sea Hawk ever done had lead up to this space mission. He wanted to be nice to everyone. But NOT Vanessa. She did not care for her. But that didn’t seem to matter to much. He was dead in her eyes.

“You’re terrible to me. Why?!”

“I am NOT terrible! Your the one you can’t show any compassion! Towards ANYone!!”

Sea Hawk stood there for a second. It was a dual. They where both standing up, yelling. Tears sprung to Sea Hawks eyes. He can’t be this person.

“I lost, ok?” Sea Hawk said. Quieter then normal.

“Wha-?” Vanessa replied in a confused anger.

“I lost. I lost love, friendships, a child.. everything I hoped to have on this mission.”
Sea Hawk tried not to cry. His hands in fists. He trembled.

“I lost.” He said in barely a whisper.

“Shut up.” Vanessa sneered.

“What?”

“Shut up! This is what you do. You act sad. So “unhappy” so people will care for you. Well guess what. I don’t. I don’t care that you had to leave your home planet. I don’t care that you got in a truck crash. I DON’T CARE.”

“This is what I’m talking about!” Sea Hawk said almost crying. Sea hawk started to walk off.

“I don’t care that you lost a baby. You didn’t deserve it.”

“I hate you. IHATEYOU!!”

Sea Hawk ran off. Everyone was staring at Vanessa.
“YOU.” Squidward demanded getting up right in front of her.
“Yes. This is she.” She said in a bored tone.

“IM DONE WITH YOU. Once we are back on earth, you’re not going to be aloud on any space missions. Never mind that, you shouldn’t be aloud to be an astronaut! I’ll make sure of it!” Squidward said.

“What? You can’t do that!”

“Oh yes I can! I have a higher “class of job” then Barry. I have the whole right.”

“Barry, what?” Vanessa looked at Barry. Barry scratched his neck and looked down.
“Sorry.” He mumbled.

“From now on, you are no longer allowed at NASA or any relating space business.” Squidward stated putting his hands on his hips.

“You can’t d- AGH!” Vanessa was cut off by her own yelp.

“Honey!” Barry ran over. “What’s wrong?!”
She pointed to her stomach.
“It’s the girls!!” She shouted

So many things had changed since he had left that place…

Squidward had left his world completely behind -literally- and he entered a whole knew one -also literally-. He was so anxious to go back to his home planet, back to his job as the “famous” “professional” astronaut. He had changed, and he didn’t want to admit that. All eyes would be on him, he had a car crash happen, he had just brought not one, not two, but three aliens with him, and on top of that, he was going to get Vanessa fired from her job. What was he doing?! He thought.

Everyone else seemed pretty excited to get of the ship though. Especially Sea Hawk. That weird man, Squidward had never met anyone like him. How could someone be so annoying, and charming in a way? Squidward usually messed with him, he knew that Sea Hawk hated his guts.

Another person who was especially “excited” to get off the ship, was Vanessa. Excited is one word you could use. She wasn’t excited, she was “in need” (as she likes to call it). Vanessa was sick and tired of Sea Hawk, and his new cat. (Who pretty much got her fired.) She also was having contractions. Yeah… Squidward ACTUALLY started to feel bad for her.

“IF IM NOT ON EARTH IN FIVE MINUTES, IM GONNA STAB SOMEONE!” Vanessa demanded, pushing through a contraction.

“Don’t worry sweetie, I’ll go as fast as I can.” Barry spoke, going over to boost the ship’s speed.

Squidward was helping him steer the ship. They both worked together to get as close to earth as possible. They were reaching the earth’s atmosphere, the outside of the ship was covered in a bright flame.

Adora, and Elmo, comforted Vanessa as the ship flew towards Earth. She groaned in pain.

“Wait, aren’t you supposed to count in between those things?” Shrek asked.

“Yeah, I’m doing that.” Squidward could hear Adora say back.

“Honey? We’re gonna have to prepare for landing.” Barry spoke, from the navigation panel.

“Ugh… fine.” She huffed as she got up.

The rest of the crew helped walk her over to her chair. Her stomach was hanging really low.

“GET ME TO A HOSPITAL.” Vanessa bellowed.

She let out a yell.

“Are you okay?” Adora asked. “Guys, if she doesn’t make it to a hospital in time, I can perform a birth. Someone asked me to do that once in plumaira. It went… well?”

“I remember that. The baby did indeed, come out.” Sea Hawk spoke.

Squidward shook his head. He was flying a spaceship full of idiots.

“No thanks… ” Vanessa replied.

“Everyone, strap into your seats! You know the drill!” Barry called out.

Everyone else complied. They all buckled down into their seats and braced themselves. The ship jerked forward even more, and even faster. He could hear people gasping, but the ship was so loud, he could barely hear anything. Squidward was basically doing this on his own now.

“Did anyone strap down the F***KING CAT?” Squidward yelled as loudly as possible, after hearing a loud meow.

“YES! RUBERT IS WITH ME!” Sea Hawk yelled back.

Thank god, Squidward wasn’t about to have a dead cat in his hands too. Oh, and that was another thing. He was bringing back a cat! What were people going to think?!

“Brace yourselves!” Squidward called out.

He pushed full speed. The ship went completely into the earth’s atmosphere. The ship tugged, before releasing. They were flying in the sky now, they were back home.

Squidward let out a breath, he turned his head to face everyone. They all looked shocked, Rubert especially. Poor cat.

“I think we did it guys.” Squidward spoke.

“Get me to a f***ing hospital!” Vanessa replied.

“Yes, right.” Squidward spoke, before flying the ship towards “Area 51”.

They were back. More beings on the ship, than when they when they left, like a lot more beings. A first one, an etherian, an ogre, a cat, and two baby twins.

Who knows who else they’ll find?
