Chapter Text
After a month of searching and another few helping her recover, the day finally came.
Well, a redo of it anyway.
Shirou looked at himself in the mirror. He wore an elegant white tux with a white rose pinned to the left side of his suit. It was the same one he wore the first time; the day when his fiancee was taken by her own father and his anti beastman front. He looked back on that day. He thought of how Michiru and her bridesmaids, Nazuna, Nina, and Marie, were entering the church when they were attacked and Michiru was taken.
He was a nervous wreck, although he was incredibly good at keeping his expressions at bay. Almost time. Almost time. She’ll be fine this time. She’ll be walking down the aisle and you’ll be married soon. Everything will be fine.
Gem’s voice as the room’s door creaked open snapped him out of his thoughts, “Shirou, it’s time for you to get to the altar.”
The gingered-haired man watched as Shirou rubbed the corner of his bow tie a few times before he took a deep breath and followed Gem down the hall towards the lobby of the newly built church.
There were a few minutes of nervous silence for the wolf and rooster beastmen as they walked. The wolf was nervous to get married and Gem was nervous to speak to the wolf on how his nervous aura and nonchalant expression was intimidating the rooster slightly. He didn’t know what to say to Shirou. He was trying to think of something to say to reassure the wolf and not scare, offend, or confuse him.
Suddenly, Shirou’s voice broke the silence and he asked, “What was it like for you when you and Melissa got married?”
The wolf’s question caught the rooster slightly by surprise but responded with, “I was incredibly nervous when I was getting ready, but to me, this was always going to be one of the most important days of both our lives and our relationship. For me, that day helped me to never take her or our time together for granted.” Gem gave a deep exhale before he continued, “You have nothing to worry about this time. She’s safe in the other hall and she’s excited about marrying you. She’s nervous about the reporters and cameras, but she’s still excited. Everything will be fine between you two. You value each other and are ready for the commitment of marriage.”
They got to the doors of the room where the ceremony was being held.
Gem put a hand on Shirou’s shoulder before saying, “Well, this is where we part for a little while. I gotta go see Michiru, make sure she’s ready for her turn down the aisle.” The man left the wolf in the hall and headed down the opposite hall where the tanuki and the other girls were getting ready.
Shirou looked back at the doors taking some time to admire the carvings and decorations lacing the wooden door that stood ever so tall in front of him. It had a beautiful carving of the inside: pews, altar, podium, and other representations. There was a detailed chalice in the middle of the carved altar and underneath it was a pillow with two overlapping rings; like one was resting on top of the other.
Shirou took another deep breath before he pushed the wooden doors open and headed down the silky white carpet that led to the altar where Mayor Rose stood.
As he slowly walked down, he looked at how scenic the room looked. Long streamers of white roses attached to the edges of the ceiling to the top of the altar, bouquets of white roses in giant white pots lined up along the walls, white rose petals that outlined both sides of the white walkway. He saw how many people were on both sides. Each side had a good 20-30 people. Most were friends and family.
He stepped on the altar and looked at its giant arch of white roses twirled around it. He looked at both sides of the people in the room again. He looked at the front row on both sides. On the left side, was Michiru’s mother Rei, and Melissa, the Bears baseball team, as well as some friends that she rekindled with a while ago. On the right, where he stood, there was an empty seat for Gem, Flip and his comrades, Tachiki and his wife, and other cops on the force. He looked to the back of the room and saw a few reporters on both sides of the door.
He began to get nervous and he looked to his side to see Pinga, his best man giving him a recurring grin and wink.
He calmed a little bit before the famous melodic tune began to play and calmed him more.
The doors swung open revealing the bridesmaids. Marie, who was first and began to walk up, followed by Nina, and last to follow was Nazuna. They wore beautiful short silver dresses with a small train attached to the bottom of their skirts. They took their spots at the altar and once they did they focused on the last person to enter with Gem.
Shirou looked at the woman in her human form in front of him and saw how beautiful the light from the sunset shined on her. It captured her makeup, vibrant brown eyes, raven black hair, and her beautiful dress that held her body and its features perfectly. She wore a simple mermaid-style dress with a silver sash around her waist. Her veil covered her face and its train dragged for about a good few meters. Her hair was short. What she went through included them shaving her hair to her scalp. She was insecure about what it would look like on her wedding day and even thought she wanted a wig for wearing with styled hair due.
Michiru looked up and hers and Shirou’s eyes locked on each other. The more they looked at each other, the more the people and the world around them faded away, causing the feeling of them being the only two in the world.
She and Gem reached the altar and Shirou stepped towards her a few steps and reached his hand out, which she gladly took in hers. They went back a few steps and faced each other on the altar and held hands as Gem took his seat.
Mayor Rose cleared her throat, which caught everyone's attention and started the ceremony. “Dearly beloved, we are all gathered here this evening to witness this man and woman join together in holy matrimony.”
She finished the speech and they both exchanged their vows, with tears threatening to flow from their eyes.
The ring bearer, Youta, one of the children she saved when Michiru first came to Anima-City, came forward and presented the rings. Michiru and Shirou held each other’s rings up with two fingers. Mayor Rose continued, “Now Shirou Ogami, repeat after me. I, Ogami Shirou,”
“I, Ogami Shirou,”
“Take Kagemori Michiru,”
“Take Kagemori Michiru,”
“To be my lawfully wedded wife,”
“To be my lawfully wedded wife,”
“To have and to hold from this day forward,”
“To have and to hold from this day forward,”
“For better or worse,”
“For better or worse,”
“For sickness and in health,”
“For sickness and in health,”
“For richer or poorer,”
“For richer or poorer,”
“Till death do us part.”
“Till death do us part.”
Shirou put the ring he held on Michiru's ring finger, and it was her turn. Mayor Rose turned to the bride and said the same to her. “Now Kagemori Michiru, repeat after me. I, Kagemori Michiru,”
“I, Kagemori Michiru,”
“Take Ogami Shirou,”
“Take Ogami Shirou,”
“To be my lawfully wedded husband,”
“To be my lawfully wedded husband,”
“To have and to hold from this day forward,”
“To have and to hold from this day forward,”
“For better or worse,”
“For better or worse,”
“For sickness and in health,”
“For sickness and in health,”
“For richer or poorer,”
“For richer or poorer,”
“Till death do us part.”
“Till death do us part.”
Michiru put the ring she held on Shirou’s ring finger and Mayor Rose spoke to the crowd, “If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace.”
When no one spoke, soon after, there was a long piece of lace fabric that was wrapped around the couples' hands and she continued with the ceremony. “With the power invested in me and Anima-City, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
They both morphed into their respective animal forms as Shirou and Michiru leaned into each other and gave each other a love bite on their necks and scent marked each other then sweetly pressed their noses to each other; like a nose kiss. To end the ceremony, they morphed back into their human forms and Shirou took Michiru into a dip and sweetly gave her a passionate kiss on her lips. They didn’t hear the sounds of the crowd and reporters cheering.
The newly married beastman couple left the altar with linked arms and headed towards the door. They were getting hungry as the guests followed out the door and the reporters ended their broadcasts of the wedding.
