Chapter Text
When the children came up to Kranken and called him, he shuddered, coming out of the depths of introspection back into the real world. Molly and her older brother Eddie were already standing next to him, looking at the blue-eyed man and trying to understand what was happening to him, and then they openly asked about his condition and mood. In response to this, the man only pulled a smile and said that everything was fine with him and there was no need to worry about it, getting up from his seat and taking the children by the hands went with them to the exit from school.
Going outside, the pleasant fresh air blew over the brown-haired man, stirring his hair, and trying to direct them into Felix's eyes, more or less sobering him and partially removing the effects of alcohol from his body.
- Edd, Molly, can you wait a little bit? I'm going to get some fresh air to make it better, it was just too stuffy in the room. We're going home in just a minute, okay?
Nods followed from the children, thereby allowing him to stop for a while to breathe and clean himself up. And the man sat down on the step, breathing deeply to sober up faster. He understood that he had drunk more than the norm, and it was simply impossible to take the guys in such a state, which meant that he had to somehow put himself in order. At least to such a level that it was possible to drive a car. Surely he couldn't betray Jack by not fulfilling his promise? That's right, I couldn't, my conscience wouldn't allow it.nscience wouldn't allow it.
In the eyes, it suddenly darkened, and the mind was confused, the world seemed to float. But it didn't last more than a minute, as it seemed to the man, so Fel didn't pay attention to it. He immediately shook his head, getting to his feet, throwing a dark blue jacket over his shoulders and heading towards the schoolchildren who were looking at the sky full of stars scattered in some mysterious cipher, making up some fascinating pattern.
- Well, let's go? - approaching the guys and putting his hands on their shoulders, the blue-eyed man asked, from which they smiled and together with him went to the car that was standing alone in the parking lot, waiting for its owner and his temporary passengers to hit the road.
The driver and his friend's children plunged into the transport, and turning on the radio in the cabin, picking up a soothing melody that did not put pressure on the tired brains of Kranken and the two Waltens, they drove off. Slowly starting, Fel drove out of the parking lot and along the right road headed to the house of Rosemary and Jack, who could already begin to expect the arrival of their angels.

The headache was accompanied by gradually rolling nausea and a wild desire to sleep, if we don't talk about dizziness, which made it very difficult to concentrate on anything, and in Felix's case, this "something" was the road that literally began to swim before his eyes. But there was no way to be distracted, because today his passengers in a kind of taxi were the younger children of the Walten family - Edd and Molly, whom he was driving at Jack's request, because it was not realistic to refuse his best friend, although at some point he really wanted to do it. In short, now the man had to preserve all the sobriety of reason, or rather its remnants, which slowly slipped away under the influence of alcohol.

Overlooked… He could not, could not cope with the simple, elementary task that was assigned to him by Jack. He. He literally killed them! At some point, the man just did not have time, did not manage to control the car from what… From which two children died. The little children of his best friend died because of his fault, because Felix could not control himself, not to drink that evening, knowing how his body would behave, knowing how important the mission that his friend entrusted was!
The brown-haired man just couldn't stand it so that tears wouldn't start rolling down his face. In the battered and dirty car, which now merged in color with the color of the night forest, where the tragedy occurred, two children's bodies were now resting, whose faces were distorted by a mixture of fear and pain that took them to the next world. According to this, it was possible to understand that the children did not die instantly, having had time to feel all the "pleasant" sensations from what had happened.
- M-my God... I... oh my God..., - the blue—eyed man said in a trembling voice, clutching his head and squeezing his hair in his fingers.
The man couldn't believe what he was seeing in front of him. In what he created himself, even if under the influence of alcohol. Although after what happened, his mind was almost clear, considering what happened, because from the fear of realization, most of the alcohol he drank seemed to have evaporated, leaving only silent horror and panic arising in the heart of Kranken.
What could he do in such a difficult situation, to put it mildly? The first thing that came to mind was to bury Edd and Molly, in order to somehow rest their souls with these actions.
"There should be a car in the trunk, at least I remember that I left it there the last time I used it," - Felix flashed through his head, and shuddering at the realization that such thoughts very much resemble the reasoning of some serial killer maniac, he headed to the place mentioned in his subconscious in order to get the tool he needed. Taking out a shovel, the brown - haired man headed to a more remote part of the forest than where he was, deeper into it, so that even if someone wants to walk through the forest, they will not find two graves, which can easily immediately scare a person who has unexpected such a find.
Holding a shovel, let alone digging holes, now seemed an incredibly difficult task, because it seemed unbearably heavy due to the fact that the blue-eyed man's hands were shaking and almost shaking, and his legs were getting weaker by the second, as if turning into lumps of cotton wool that serve as stuffing for a rag doll.
The clothes torn due to the accident were in extremely poor condition, all torn and covered with earth, which also stuck to the skin, soaked with sweat and blood from wounds and scratches that flowed in small rivulets over free parts of the skin or soaked into clothes where it was relatively intact. On the face, the lip was split, filling the mouth with the taste of metal from blood, and the eyebrow, from where the crimson-scarlet liquid of life also flowed, which prevented the normal concentration of vision and flowed into the eyes, from which every five to ten seconds it was necessary to erase it and the face, in order to restore relatively normal vision at least for some period of time.
And after some time, two small graves were dug, in the depths of which, under a fresh layer of earth, lay the buried bodies of Molly and her brother Edd. And on top of the earth, which was still loose, wet from the light rain that had begun, Felix built two small crosses from sticks found nearby, after which he loaded them into the place of a potential tombstone. And as soon as the man performed these actions, he heard some strange ringing that turned out to be... a phone.
The man slowly got up from his squats to his feet and, stretching to a crunch to stretch his stiff back from digging and, ahem, burying the Walten children, barely moving his legs and heading to the car, from where the sound was muffled. Taking out the gadget from the transport beaten by the situation, it turned out that the ringing was present before that, since there were not one, but as many as twenty-five messages on the phone that were recorded and were ready to listen at any moment.
As it turned out, the russet-haired man simply did not hear this, because he was too "carried away" by a kind of ... work, drowning out feelings and blunting the perception of the present, from which the brain was able to notice the sound only now, when Kranken more or less came to himself, moving away from the shock and horror he experienced, so to speak. Gradually, the sound began to penetrate into the skull through the barriers and barriers built by his brain.
Looking at the phone, the man realized how many calls he missed, considering how many messages were on the answering machine, sent, as it turned out, by Jack himself, who was very worried about the loss of his dear children.
- Felix... Felix, where are you? - the suppressed voice of a friend of the russet-haired sounded on their tube, - Where are you and the children disappearing?.. It's almost midnight, and you were supposed to bring them at nine o'clock… Where are my children, Felix? When are you finally coming back?
It sounded in one of the listened messages, on which Walten, as could be heard from the trembling voice of the brown-haired man, almost cried, if he did not do it already from hopelessness and fear of the unknown. The rest of the messages from the man were exactly the same content and message, except that the wording and presentation of the question differed, although their meaning remained unchanged. Jack immediately wanted to know where Kranken, Edward and Molly were now, and with each new voice message that was left on the answering machine, this request sounded louder and the voice took on a note of anger.
Already by the end of listening to the SMS sent by Walten Sr., brown-eyed began to break into a full-fledged scream, the anger that had accumulated in brown-eyed since the moment when Kranken potentially had to bring his children home, spilled out, seasoned with worry and stress, and also winding up about it. Occasionally, obscene expressions even slipped into the man's speech, which is unrealistic to hear from him in a normal state.
Although the situation Felix was in now was very far from normal. Even from a relatively good one, it was just a horror. So Jack could be completely understood, because the blond-haired man created something that Walter could not even think about, and then it turned into real life. We can say that this is a nightmare in real life, which can not be wished to the worst enemy, because the family is sacred for every person on the planet, and the situation in which the blue-eyed one got into can easily bring anyone out of standing. So it was stupid to blame Walter, because the reaction to his best friend's actions was logical and even fully justified.
And even Felix himself understood this, that now he was barely sitting in the driver's seat, trying to calm down from the panic that had swept over him, which engulfed the blond-haired man with his head, causing him to tremble.
