Chapter Text
Demand was Cyberpunk on 20Jan2022 and a 6 hour deadline! Sorry this is short and not the greatest but my creativity was lower than I hoped after work when I saw the demand. I also don't know too much for Cyberpunk au sort of style stories sadly, but I wanted to do something short and quirky. I'm hoping to actually try to write more. I haven't had the desire to write fics in forever and these little drabbles will be good motivation.
Short Summary - What if Morgan decides to steal from a powerful villain to gain favor in the villain's ranks? It doesn't turn out exactly how they were expecting it to

The club's lights are flashing and the music is blaring. The night is just getting started. People are walking around with parts, oil, drinks, and anything and everything anyone could possibly imagine to keep any high rollers happy.
Morgan sits quietly to the side of the dance floor, they had been there for hours. They're wearing flashy armor and gear, trying to catch a few eyes, maybe score a new team for a heist. They're trying to work their way up in the ranks after being stuck in their hero family's shadow. No one in their family has taken them seriously, just waiting for it to be a phase and have them fall back in line.
Morgan grabs a drink from a passing guy and sighs. Maybe their little show wasn't going to work. The mini heist they completed to attract people was just a sick failure and their family was right that they're nothing but a worthless sidekick.
They slam back their drink and lightly knock their forehead with their fist. "Stupid, why do I have to have such stupid ideas… I should just get out of here…"
A hand slams down on the table in front of them, "Now why would you do that? You put on such a good show earlier. I was worried you were a 1 trick pony." A dark smile is what draws Morgan's attention.
"... shit…" Morgan looks sheepish. "I was hoping you wouldn't have even realized anything was missing…"
"Why? When someone breaks into my weapons storeroom? You think I wouldn't notice someone so stupid to wear out MY signature armor publicly. RIght after it was stolen earlier today?" The stranger takes a hold of Morgan's chin and makes them look into their eyes. "Now you must either be stupid or trying to prove something to someone. What is it this time before I squish you like the ant you are?"
"I'm sorry! I just wanted to find a worthy heist, find a team and be accepted by the villains… you can have your armor back. It didn't work how I was hoping it would… I was just following a stupid dream." Morgan looks away from the stranger and holds up their hands in surrender. They sigh and shake their head. "I should have known I wasn't good enough…"
"Hey now! Stop that. You stole my armor from my guarded warehouse and decided to publicly go out in it knowing you'd get some good or bad attention. You may not be smart but I would say you are doing a good job at trying to be a villain." The stranger let go of their face. "Now who are you to be so bold?"
"My name’s Morgan. I'm a new villain in town. Trying to step out of my superhero family's shadow"
The stranger's eyes practically glow at their introduction. "Well Morgan, welcome. Let's get formally introduced. I'm Alex. What do you think of joining me in knocking your family down a peg?"
