Chapter Text
Gabriel Agreste never thought he'd get this far, as his fingers gently brushed the surface of the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous.
"Excellent job, Miracle Queen." He stated, looking up at his latest akuma. Chloe Bourgeois stood tall, clutching the Miracle Box between her fingers.
"I know, Hawk Moth." She said, matter of factly. "I alway's get the job done." With that last statement, she turned and looked at the once praised heroes now standing among the ranks of her Miracle Army. It was quite unfortunate, how the duo of superheroes were defeated. Dragonbug had been hit with King Monkey's uproar, and Rena Rouge was able to remove the Snake Miraculous from Snake Noir before he could turn back time. From there, it was quite easy to remove the Miraculous from Dragonbug, revealing her identity as Marinette Dupain-Cheng, one of Adrien's classmates. However, what shocked Hawkmoth even more was the reveal that his son had been Chat Noir after Rena Rouge, King Monkey, and Pegasus pinned him down, and removed his ring. Before Hawkmoth even had time to react, Miracle Queen stung him with one of her wasps.
"Hawk Moth!" Boomed a voice, as Hawkmoth turned to see the future rabbit hero (Bunnyx, if he remembered correctly) stepping out of the burrow. "This isn't how the timeline is supposed to go! Time is a sensitive thing, and I'm not sure what exactly went wrong here, but-" She barely made it 5 steps out from her burrow when she was stung by Miracle Queen's wasps.
"She is certainly annoying." Miracle Queen said, eyeing the heroine up and down. "She'll make quite a useful addition to my army." As she spoke, the Rabbit Miraculous wielder joined Miracle Queens ranks, taking a knee like the other heroes.
Hawkmoth looked up to Mayura, who had been keeping watch over the old guardians shelter. No matter how hard she tried to mask the pain she was in, he knew that the damage that the Peacock Miraculous held was being transferred to her physical form. He launched himself up to her, Miracle Queen close behind him.
"Mayura," He spoke, extending his hand out with the jewels "We've done it. We can finally make the wish undo the damage of the Peacock." She smiled gently, before losing her balance, forcing Hawkmoth to catch her. He hadn't realized that he dropped the Miraculous' until he turned and saw Miracle Queen holding both jewels.
"What wish?" She asked, looking puzzled. Hawkmoth sighed. "The Wish" he began "is what occurs when you merge the Ladybug and Black Cat miraculous. Their power unified can alter the fabric of reality."
"But it has a great consequence!" Chimed the old man. "Whatever you wish for, it will result in the end of the world as we know it!"
Hawkmoth took a step towards Miracle Queen, hand open and ignoring the old man. "Hand me the jewels, Miracle Queen." He said, and when she didn't, he took another step. "That's an order. I've given you these powers, and I certainly won't hesitate to take them back."
In that moment, Gabriel hadn't expected resistance from Chloe Bourgeois, nor had he expected for himself and Mayura to be stung by two wasps generated by Miracle Queen. His vision turned yellow, and he had the horrifying realization that he was no longer in control.

Miracle Queen stood there, the weight of her actions hitting her like a bus. She had paralyzed both of Paris' terrorists, the people that had given her her powers, and a second chance when Ladyb-when Dupain-Cheng refused to give her back her Miraculous.
"Mrs. Bourgeois..." the old man said, snapping her from her thoughts. "Please, don't take the risk. The power of these two miraculous combined is unstable." She looked at him, before walking towards his shelter.
"I hold the power here. Now tell me how to use it." She said.

She wasn't exactly sure when the old man (Fu was his name, she had learned) dropped his shelter, but the two sat together looking at the jewels sitting in her hand.
"...and that's what happens when the wish is made. Reality is undone and reassembled, though we're unsure of what truly happens." He said, looking her in the eyes. He had a look of guilt that reminded Chloe of when she was younger, sitting alone in her Hotel Suite, waiting hours on end for her mother to return home. "No matter how much you want something, the wish isn't worth it. Even if you've made a catastrophic mistake, like I did when...when I lost the Peacock and Butterfly Miraculous, I still refused to turn to the wish." He finished, looking away at his final statement. She eyed the jewels again, before clenching her fist.
"I won't do it." She said. He turned. "What?"
"I said, I won't do it. I won't make the wish." She said again, looking over at the frozen Mayura and Hawkmoth. "I'm going to renounce my power, and return their Miraculous' to you. On one condition." He turned warily. "And what would that condition be?"
"I want people to like me...not fear me..." She said. "I know I've made mistakes, and I've hurt...a lot of people, including my own family..." A single tear rolled down her cheek. "When this is over...would you...could you..." She was cut off by a reassuring hand from the old man. "Yes, Chloe, I will help those around you see the true hero that you are." She turned, and felt a warmth that she hadn't felt in a long time.
"Hawkmoth, I renounce my powers as Miracle Queen." She said, removing the bee miraculous from her hair. Both her transformation as Miracle Queen and Queen Bee dissipated, releasing Pollen from the Miraculous and the Akuma from her now non-existent spinning top. She handed the Bee Miraculous to the old man, before turning towards the villains.
She had expected to easily grab both of the brooches from the villains. It would've been a piece of cake, they were frozen after all. She hadn't expected that when she renounced her powers, though, that everyone affected by them would be unfrozen.

"Chloe, the Miraculous!" Fu yelled, slamming his shield against Mayura. Hawkmoth was approaching rapidly, as she still had both the ring and earrings in her hand. Quickly, she slipped the earrings and ring on, releasing both Kwamis from the jewelry. The red one flew immediately to Chloe.
"Tikki, spots on is my transformation phrase," The bug said. "Now hurry, he can't get ahold of us again!"
"Tikki, Spots on!" Chloe yelled as she was enveloped in a pink light, before she was face to face with a disgruntled Hawkmoth. While it wasn't the time nor the place for these thoughts, Chloe had (not so secretly) always wanted to have Ladybugs powers, and now she was able to use them against Hawkmoth.
"Lucky Charm!" She yelled, as she dodged Hawkmoth's cane. From the Yo-Yo, a calendar appeared and landed in Chloe's hand. She didn't have time to process the date, as Hawkmoth came at her once again with his cane. She dodged it, but a millisecond later she would've been toast. As she landed, she looked over to Fu, and was mortified at the sight. Mayura had disarmed his Miraculous, and had her arms wrapped around his throat.
"Ch-Chloe!" He choked out, trying to elbow Mayura in the gut. "T-Tikki, Pla-Plagg, Unify!" He yelled. She looked quickly at the cat kwami, and then at the lucky charm. She had a lightbulb moment, though it was one of the most dangerous ones.
"Tikki, Plagg, Unify!" She yelled, watching as Plagg was sucked into the ring, and a whirlwind of light surrounded her. Hawkmoth was yelling something, but she couldn't hear over the roar of what seemed to be pure energy enveloping her person. Mayura slammed her fist into Fu, before dropping him and running towards her. She threw her fan at her, which was quickly reduced to ash. Mayura stopped abruptly after that.
Chloe turned, and looked down at the ground. The heroes that were once under her control were staring in shock as the energy swirled around her. Dupain-Cheng and Adrien looked mortified at the sight, which wasn't surprising to Chloe.
"Dup...Marinette, Adrien," She said, though she wasn't sure they could even hear her, "I'm sorry...for everything. I'm going to make it right." She looked down at the lucky charm, staring intently at the date. "I know what I need to do." She closed her eyes, envisioning the day that the calendar was turned to. "Universe, I need to make things right. I need to make sure that no one gets hurt because of me, or because of Hawkmoth." The light around her began to glow brighter as she uttered her words, until she could no longer see the outside world.
"I wish for a do-over."
The light stopped glowing, and everything around her turned painfully dark.
