Chapter Text
The bay has been quiet lately.
Too quiet.
Deo didn't like that.
The stress and anticipating an attack was tugging on his mind.
It took Deo so much strength and effort to not let all the feelings overwhelm him.
Being the bay's best warrior, the protector.. Always building additions to the bay with no help, and worrying about his enemies. As if he was just a guard dog.
Whenever they did, he'd black out. Well- Not literally. His memory didn't work that well when he was overwhelmed.
The brunette was currently pacing around his house, opening and closing doors, rummaging through his chests.. In short, he was making a mess. Business Buddy lay on the upper bunk on his bed, sleeping contentedly.
"You have it easy." Deo scoffed to himself, eyeing the animal.
Being someone's pet must be so cool, right? No stress, no worries at all, and your beloved owner cares for you. The clingy need to just sit back and let himself be pampered plagued his mind.
As Deo rummages through his junk chest, he suddenly brushes over something that burned to touch. He lets out a noise similar to a tiny, hurt yap, and retreats his hand. He just touched a harming arrow. The thing did no good for the poor brunette. Just looking at it took him back to all the wars he's been in. Harming arrows flying every which way, and piercing his body. It was pain he never wished to experience again.
Without a thought, his hurt hand flies to his mouth, and Deo lightly sucks on the injured finger that touched the arrow. His eyebrows furrow, the arrow isn't leaving his sight. Whimpering quietly, he backs away from the opened chest, before simply falling on his messy bed. He quickly kicks his shoes off, before bringing his legs up on the bed as well. A muffled whine leaves his mouth; He almost swore he felt tears in his eyes too.
Deo never got overwhelmed this easily, but recently he was just so sensitive when alone..
The dumb arrow left an image in his mind. Either it was himself, or any other member of his faction pinned down by the arrows, the things sticking into every direction, and causing constant pain.
Deo's whine is high pitched now, and he turns to lay on his stomach, and covers his face into his arms. It was an image so real, and so convincing it was hard to believe it wasn't reality.
Deo's brain- as if on defense suddenly threw that image away. As Deo is still on his bed, pathetic, dog-like whines and whimpers flow out of him.
As the scary image was taken away though, the boy's brain got all weirdly fuzzy. This always happened when he got overwhelmed.
He couldn't describe this feeling.
The feeling of.. Feeling tiny, but still kind of being aware? It confused him, and he was always left alone when this happened. Even though he cried for company in this state of mind.
Deo peeks out from behind his arms, he feels small tears seep out of the corners of his eyes. He unfolds from his position, and lays on his side. He feels another whine wanting to leave his mouth, so the brunette does what he usually did, and brings his hand to his mouth, before biting onto his suit sleeve.
What he hated though was how suffocating the suit felt. A tiny yip escapes him, and he whines again. Deo sits up, shuffling his hands that felt way too tiny and incapable around, but in the end, he managed to take off the suit. Which honestly looked like he had torn it from his body.
He leans against the wall, and returns to biting on his sleeve. It feels softer now, the orange sweater was definitely better than the rough suit.
The loneliness still upsets him.
As weird as that may have sounded, he wanted to be comforted, pet, told he was a good pup (pup-?) for being so strong. Just thinking about it made him want to get out of bed, and dejectedly go to Tommy.
But he knew it was weird. Every time this happened, he would stay in his house, not come out, and deal with this all alone.
Deo whinily barks into his sweater sleeve, and lays down again. He snuggles his head into his pillow, searching for comfort in the soft material.
He didn't know what to do with himself.
Then, the door to his house opened.
