Art Notes:
Reverse Bangs are a different animal to Big Bangs. They're like the opposite in where Artists make their work first and then Writers compete with each other to claim their top picks. Writers get to feel the rush of claim day, and Artist wait with baited breath to see if their submission gets claimed. After claiming an art work, writers than make a story based on the art.
Personally, I think I just like to sleep in on that day. It's been a while but I think that's what I did. It's nice to be able to just let it all take care of itself and not have to be present in the rush of things. What will be will be. Anyways, I got done into time that I got to submit two that year.
Via the SPN RB's 2019 rules:
Artists may submit up to two (2) separate pieces of art for this challenge, but only if they make the Early Bird deadline with the first of them. If the Early Bird deadline is missed, artists may only submit one (1) piece.
The Early Bird deadline this year will be Sunday, September 15th. All other art will be due Sunday, September 22nd.
And the art has to be pretty much finished pieces of work if you're going to submit them. Artists when submitting have to also fill out a summary form similar yet different to what Writers have to fill out for their claim summaries. Anyways Oasis was my early bird submission and this is what I submitted for the art summary for it minus the email:

Short description of art: Eygptian-ish (prince?) Sam/Jared and Roman-ish general Jensen/Dean sitting in a bathhouse, as one does during an evening bath.
Do Not Wants: No character bashing, scat, or Destiel/Cockles, please.
Artist is willing to make more pieces to go with the story: No
As a rule of thumb, I normally put no in the "Artist is willing to make more pieces to go with the story" section, but after claims day I try to explain to my authors that I will try to make more if I can but I can't promise anything which is why I say no on the form so I don't get their hopes up if they're thinking about picking me. And having done this event twice, only once was I able to make more art besides a title card. 😅 TBF, I think you could count the title card as more art, but I fail at making more scenes normally. If I had to take a guess why, it's because the RB normally runs alongside the Eldritch Bang, and after I get done with the Eldritch Bang work I feel too tired to crank out a lot in the remaining time frame.
Art:
Based on my previous notes on tumblr I wanted to make an Egyptian-ish Jared/Sam because I thought Jared/Sam would look good in the eye makeup because of his fox eyes and I thought Jensen/Dean would look good in Roman armor. And there you go. Um, at the time I thought it was good. I see some mistakes with it. Professionally trained, I am not, but I'm trying not to focus on it. I like how Jared's hair is so soft. So I'm happy with that. That background took so long. I'm not really good at backgrounds or perspective. So, it took weeks just get out what ended up in the final product. I remember that I had another idea where they were higher up in the sky rather than down at the Nile level but that got scraped. All in all, I'm good with this. It's done and I'm glad to be able to move on.
