Work Text:
Of course, Ni-ki knew Sunoo was really pretty. And he did understand that it meant that other people would of course also view him as such. He couldn’t be the only one with eyes, after all. It was just pure facts.
Despite that, Ni-ki felt uncomfortable when the host of the radio show they were all present at kept complimenting Sunoo. Complimenting his smile, his voice, the way he looked with his now black hair… It was aggravating. Ni-ki was happy that he was wearing a mask, just so no one could see his lips in a snarl. Glancing around him, the others also seemed to feel a bit ‘ why am i here ’, but he also assumed that they weren’t feeling as such for the same reason that Ni-ki was. He was the only one there who was Sunoo’s boyfriend, after all. Even if he didn’t seem to be the only one who had his eyes on the short man.
When the radio show finally was over, Ni-ki was tired. He was thankful he hadn’t needed to talk much, because he wasn’t overly convinced he would’ve been able to mask his emotions. When they got up from their chairs, all bowing to the MC, the rest of the group began leaving the room. Ni-ki glanced back at his hyung, who had stopped and was chatting to the man who had interviewed them. Ni-ki stopped by the door, not following Jake who had stepped outside, and just looked at Sunoo, silently waiting for him to get over with it and come join him so they could leave.
Ni-ki wouldn’t call himself jealous, he just… didn’t like to watch people flirt with the shorter male. He didn’t like to watch his hyung respond in smiles and giggles, far too nice to just leave with a thanks and a bye .
Another moment passed, and then Sunoo turned his gaze to Ni-ki’s direction, his eyes lighting up at once.
“Ah, Ni-ki, I’m coming”.
The MC turned too, and Ni-ki saw him smile behind his mask when he saw him there.
“That’s a nice dongsaeng you have there, Sunoo-ya, waiting for you. Sorry, Ni-ki, I’ll let you guys off now!”
Ni-ki didn’t respond, just watched as his hyung turned once more to the MC, gave him a small bow.
“Thanks for today, hyung!”
The MC nodded.
“You too. I’ll see you around”.
Sunoo nodded, and then turned and began walking to the door. Ni-ki met the eyes of the MC, barely able to keep a glare out of his expression. The MC merely looked amused, as he lifted a hand and waved, before turning to his desk, starting to assemble his things.
Ni-ki didn’t avert his gaze until he felt Sunoo’s hand on his arm, and he looked down on his hyung, who had an eyebrow raised.
“Should we go? The others are probably waiting”.
Ni-ki swallowed, and then nodded. With one last glance at the MC, he allowed his hyung to pull him out of the room, hand still on his arm.

“Ni-ki is sulking, aw”.
“Seems so, doesn’t it?”
The two voices, both whispered in a conspiratory tone, caught through the maze Ni-ki had been in ever since they all settled down in their condo to eat some dinner after the show.
“Am not!”, he replied as a reflex, looking up from his bowl he had been poking around in.
The rest of the group were all looking at him, smiling. Sunghoon and Jake, the ones who had been speaking, leaned away from each other.
“Is that so?”, the former said, smiling.
Ni-ki glared at Sunghoon, and shook his head.
“I’m not sulking”.
He glanced at Sunoo, who was sitting next to him, trying and failing to suppress a giggle behind his hand.
“I’m not!”, he said again, taking his spoon and shuffling some of the soup into his mouth.
He tried to keep his pout off his lips, as he swallowed the soup, and then began eating more, just so the rest would leave him alone. After a while they all dropped it, and conversation around the table picked up again. Ni-ki sighed inaudibly. His hyung’s were all assholes.
After another couple of seconds, he felt a hand against his back, softly caressing his skin in circular movements through his t-shirt. He turned and glanced at Sunoo, who was eating his own food. After a moment, Sunoo looked back, smiled at him. Ni-ki couldn’t help but smile back, and just like that he felt better again. The rest of the meal went as such, Ni-ki relaxing his tense body more and more as Sunoo’s warm palm stayed on his back.

Ni-ki was laying on his back on the bed, eyes closed, when he felt the weight of Sunoo’s body climb up on the mattress. A few moments later, he felt his hyung snuggle up next to him, putting his arm over Ni-ki’s chest, his face close to his neck.
When the other male spoke, hot breaths against his skin, Ni-ki had to refrain from shivering.
“Why were you sulking, Ni-ki-ya?”
Ni-ki groaned, opening his eyes. He turned his face and looked into Sunoo’s eyes.
He had half a mind to protest, but then decided against it upon seeing Sunoo's kind and honest eyes.
“… I didn’t like the way the host flirted with you, hyung”.
Sunoo blinked.
“Donghyun hyung?”
Ni-ki nodded, not able to stop the frown that formed on his face at the sound of the older man’s name.
Sunoo blinked again, and then smiled.
“Dumbass”, he said, giggling. “He wasn’t flirting with me”.
Ni-ki felt himself pout.
“I’m not a dumbass. He really was! He kept complimenting you, and then he talked to you after the airing was over, and…”
Sunoo interrupted him by leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to his pouting lips, successfully shutting him up. He then spoke without pulling back, his breath against Ni-ki’s lips.
“I promise you, Ni-ki, he was just being nice”.
Ni-ki let out a sigh, rolling his eyes.
“That’s what you think”.
Sunoo didn’t respond, instead he leaned in again, pressing his lips to Ni-ki’s. Ni-ki knew when he was being silenced, he wasn’t in fact dumb, but he simply turned to his side so he was fully facing his hyung. He put his arm over Sunoo’s small waist, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss.
After a few seconds, they parted, breathing against each other. Ni-ki watched as Sunoo opened his eyes slowly, and then smiled at him. His hyung put his face again Ni-ki’s neck, and Ni-ki felt a bit more grounded.
The shorter male spoke after a short while.
“Even if there would be someone who likes me, that doesn’t matter. Because I like you the most, Ni-ki”.
With that, all of Ni-kim’s anxieties disappear completely, and he relaxed as he felt Sunoo’s smile against his neck. He tilted his head slightly, pressing a kiss to the top of Sunoo’s head, and responded in a whisper.
“I like you too, hyung. I like you the most”.
The smile against his skin grew wider, and Ni-ki allowed his body to completely relax. With the scent of Sunoo’s fruity shampoo in his nose, he succumbed to sleep, deciding that he would try to fully believe that Sunoo did like him, just as much as he did in return.
