Work Text:
Emma Sano was one of the sweetest girls ever. No matter who it was, or what it was, she always found some way to help people in need; even if they weren't in need, Emma loved to help others. It was almost as if kindness was just molded in her blood.
And this sweetness is exactly how she was able to get draken wrapped around her finger. Never in all his 27 years did he think he was gonna be tied down with a kid, let alone a kid with his best friend's sister.
But they did it. After Draken had decided to officially retire from toman and get a real job to support his family, they had a good 4 years together filled with nothing but happiness and peace. No complaints at all.
So you can only imagine the pure shock that Draken went through that day.
Have you ever gotten up one day and was like 'todays gonna be a good day'? and then it turned out to be everything but? yeah, this was one of those
It was honestly like any other. He woke up to Emma cooking a big breakfast for him, Kaito playing in the living room with cartoons playing on the television. They had decided a couple weeks ago that they all needed a break, and wanted to have a family day together at the beach. Their bags were all packed and neatly placed by the front door.
After they had ate, they headed out for the beach, singing together in the car. Draken had looked over at Emma with nothing but endearment in his eyes, placing his hand on top of hers as he rubbed circles into her skin before facing towards the road again.
(y'all. it took me so long to write that paragraph cause that should be ME.)
After a good thirty minutes, they had finally arrived at the beach, not wasting any time to get set up a good spot on the sand. Draken had only planned to lay down and relax, but Kaito had begged him to go into the ocean and swim, and who was he to deny such cuteness?
He had stripped from his shirt, showing off his toned abs for any wandering eyes to see. He immediately scooped up Kai and ran to the water, bringing both of them into the water as they splashed around.
Draken was completely oblivious to the amount of attention he was receiving from women, and men, but Emma was definitely aware. She sent glares and dirty looks to anyone who even dared come close to him, but those looks didn't work for everybody. There was still some women bold enough to approach the two, only making Emma frown up as she crossed her arms and pouted like a child.
The longer that the random woman stood and talked to Draken the more angrier she became, because why was he even entertaining her? Draken wasn't stupid. He knew what her motive was and it honestly made Emma upset because he was leading the woman on.
After talking for a few more minutes, the two boys finally returned back to their designated area with Emma, who was currently cutting up some apples for the little boy, ignoring Draken's presence.
He found it funny, not paying much attention to her small fit and pushing it off as Emma just overthinking yet again. This wasn't her first time becoming jealous over the tiniest things, nor would it be her last.
Draken had decided to go back into the water and swim some more, winking over at Emma who just rolled her eyes at him. She went back to cutting up the fruit for the child, laughing at how he tried to make small sandcastles but ended up failing each time.
When she looked back over at her husband, her smile dropped. Seeing the same lady who was flirting with him before back in his face and floating dangerously close to him. She let out a frustrated huff as she tightly gripped the knife in her hand, standing to her feet before telling her child to stay put, stomping over towards the two.
Now, she genuinely didn't plan on using the weapon, she really didn't. Emma only wanted to tell the woman to back off, that was it.
The closer she got to them, the more enraged she became, watching how her husband laughed and joked with her. It was all innocent of course, but it Emma eyes it might have well been cheating.
But when the girl had put her hand on his chest, fingers ghosting over his abs as she bit down on her lip—Emma saw red.
It all happened in a flash really.
Draken went from laughing and floating in the water—to yelling and screaming for Emma to stop. She was ruthlessly stabbing the woman in her neck, not even phased by woman's long nails scratching against her skin, her once loud and high pitched screams were now garbled from the amount of blood pooling inside her mouth and throat.
Draken was finally able to pull her off, dragging the woman from out of the water as he gently laid her on the sand, trying his best to apply pressure to her wounds but there were just too many, she bled out within a matter of minutes.
He hasn't even noticed the screams in the background, or the people that crowded around him, phones out as some recorded, and others called for help, looks of horror and shock on their faces.
It wasn't soon before the police got there with ambulances and new reporters, cameras zoomed in on the officers that were now putting her into the back of a police car, blank expression written on her face. Draken had walked up to the car, holding the little boy on his hip as he desperately knocked on the window, trying to get her attention as he reassured her that everything was going to be okay and how he was going to take care of everything.
He knew it was a lie, and so did she.
