They had decided to stop for the night and continue looking for the crystal in the morning. Exhausted from the days travel which was new for Dracula.
Johnny careful not to hit Dracula with his powerful tail. The monster turned around a few times likes a dog, before settling by the
Dracula who was setting up a fire glanced at Johnny his lips twitching briefly Johnny started to fall asleep his eyes drooping.
Swallowing human Dracula came to the monsters side reaching out. His hand resting on the monsters body. Johnnys eyes fluttering open.
"Are you warm enough?". Draculas soft voice rang through the air.
"Yeah". The monster smiled sleepily "thanks".
A feeling of warmth washed over the human vampires new beating heart. Throwing a couple more logs into the fire Dracula moved over to Johnny leaning against the larger frame.
He could feel Johnny relax into his warmth his head laying down slightly curled around him.
With brief hesitancy Dracula reached out brushing his fingers through Johnnys hair, prompting the monster to let out a soft sleepy sound pressing into the touch.
"You know if there's anyone that I have to let my guard down when I am a monster like this. I am glad it's your Drac". Johnny cracked an eye open smile sleepy.
Draculas heart melted at the words the guilt of the lie he told Johnny hitting him ten fold. None of this would've happened if he hadn't lied.
"Yes well". Dracula cleared his throat. "We should probably get some sleep. We have a long days trip ahead of us if we're going to get the crystal sometime tommrow".
"Yeah yeah your right". Yawning Johnny pressed his head to the human vampires side. "Love you Drac".
Closing his eyes Dracula felt tears
"Goodnight Johnny". Dracula whispered to the slumbering monster.

The violent movments prompted Dracula to jolt awake features confused as the bed under him shook.
It only took moments for Dracula to go from freaked to concerned as Johnnys larger frame trembled his features pinched.
"Johnny?". Dracula inched towards the monsters face reaching out touching the warming skin.
A loud noise came from Johnny prompting Dracula to jolt back eyes widening when he noticed the way Johnnys eyes were red.
Just as suddenly as it came they flickered a couple times before going back. Confusion. Exhustion flickering across his face.
"Drac?". Johnnys voice weak. A shudder rippled down the monster frame.
"Easy easy". Dracula soothed pressing his cool hand under Johnnys hair.
"Somthing isen't right". Johnny mumbled "i". He cringed as a bout of pain washed over him.
By now Dracula was panicking.
"It's going to be ok". Draculas lips twitched into a small smile when Johnny leaned into his hand. "Were going to figure this out i promise".
With care he tugged Johnnys head to rest on his lap.
"Get some rest". Draculas tone soft. "I will watch over you".
Without another word Johnny fell unconscious much faster then Dracula liked not missing at what would be a beginning of a fever.
"Whats going on?". Dracula mumbled in sorry never taking his eyes off Johnny.
