Chapter Text
Tommyinnit was a villain. Ok, not exactly a villain. More like....a cannon minor-terrorism enjoyer.
Ok maybe not minor terrorism. But it's not like he killed people! Tommy could never. He did something else. Something that his brother told him would cause way more chaos. And sure it does.
He fucking sinks ships.
It's fun, having to sneak in the ship, stealing the resources than burning it down and swimming away with the reward. Usually Tommy would prepare an emergency boat with all the stuff he would steal, set the fire and run with the boat. In more extreme situations or storms he had to swim his way out with his bag and pockets full of smaller stuff, but usually more valuable things such as gold or diamonds.
Tommy was just living his best life until today. He was gonna try to sink one of the smaller ships from the kingdom's docks but that ship carried some of the most important resources. The plan was to sink the ship, try to get some golden apples and pumpkin pies to piss off some random people. Nop, not today!
Today he got shot in the leg. It was not a good day for the Tommyinnit community. He had the lamest robbery since he started stealing. He only got a box of bread AND a fucker shot him in the leg, WHILE HE WAS SWIMMING.
He did almost drown. Luckily for him his spite can take him far so he made it to shore, only to run away from the guards and news reporters. He barely made it home, wet, hurt and most importantly: almost empty-handed.
He dropped his bag in the hall, took off his coat and shoes and threw himself on an armchair. Dream was cooking, probably soup. He was humming while chopping ingredients before he was interrupted by his brother groaning in the armchair.
"Hi tommy! I'm busy with the vegetables so we can talk in a minute, ok?" he said, on a cheerful tone. Tommy only groaned again in response, as the arrow from his leg was starting to hurt more, small drops of blood escaping through the wound.
Dream finished cutting the vegetables and turned only to see his little brother with a pale face, wet hair and clothes and an arrow in his leg.
He put the knife down and ran over to Tommy. He saw the arrow, and judging by the wet clothes Dream assumed he failed robbing a ship. The fact that the news just started talking about a failed attempt at a robbery didn't help the younger's cause.
"Tommy, how did this happen?" he asked, continuing to fuss over the arrow yet still not taking it out. Tommy weakly pointed to the TV, just as the news reporter started detailing on the robbery.
"It is believed to be yet another attempt made by the WasTaken siblings. A man from the ship claims to have seen AND shot the robber." the reporter said and the POV changed to a man, which Tommy showed a middle finger to.
"This asshole." he muttered, getting a laugh from Dream as they watched.
"I saw the rascal pocketing our food supplies, so I snuck to my chamber and got my crossbow! I considered using sedative arrows but it was unsafe so I took normal ones. I shot him as he was swimming away with our food but he still kept going to shore. The only thing I saw about him were patches of yellow hair sticking through his hood." that was it.
Dream took the first aid kit, soaking a piece pf cotton in alcohol as Tommy was distracted zoning out, probably because of the wound, or maybe the fact that he was SOAKED. He returned his attention to Tommy, holding the alcohol-soaked cotton in his hand. Tommy winced at seeing it but nodded, looking away.
As Dream was cleaning the hole, not even a wound, a straight up hole, he shifted his attention to Tommy again. He seemed upset.
"You know, sedate arrows would've been safer. Normal arrows pierce skin, sedate arrows shoot sedatives but don't actually harm the skin." he said, and Tommy looked at him, completely puzzled. Dream just shrugged as he finally patched up Tommy's wound.
"There you go!" he said, ruffling his hair. Tommy flinched but Dream paid it no mind. He was in a good mood today, he had no reason to argue with Tommy today. "Lunch is in 10. I have something to show you afterwards. Now shoo." he said, and Tommy limped away under the gaze of his older brother.
Tommy limped into his room, holding onto the walls for balance.Dream wouldn't have helped him walk, and it was his fault for getting hurt anyway- He was upset about it, but it's not like he couldn't handle himself. He sat on the bed and picked up his phone. He called Purpled, his buddy and 'partner in crime'.
"OH MY GOD. ARE YOU OKAY, TOMMY?!" The screaming was instant. Tommy slowly removed the phone from his ear, waiting for Purpled to stop screaming. Something about safety hazards...
"I AM FINEEE." Tommy yelled back into the phone. If Purpled ruined his ears, he'll retaliate.
"Are you tho? You got shot BY A CROSSBOW!"
" I AM OK, PRIME I WILL HANG UP!" He said, and so he did, only leaving Purpled with a middle finger emoji before realizing that walking to his room and having Purpled yell at him already took up the 10 minutes. He got up with a whine before limping to the kitchen. Where Dream was waiting.
"So, Toms, are you excited for the surprise?" he said, smiling. Tommy raised an eyebrow. Dream was usually more strict, less like this...bubbly, friendly version of his brother. He nodded slightly, eyeing him.

After lunch, Dream led Tommy to the basement door. With a trembling hand, he pushed the door open, revealing the dreading set of stairs. He slowly took a step down, Dream patiently waiting for him to go down.
Step by step, he made his way to the basement. Stepping onto the floor with a sigh of relief, Tommy took a few moments to notice the scene in front of him.
A boy with light blonde hair, piercing blue eyes and a nasty burn on his face stared at him, making eye contact. His gaze sending nothing but pure anger and a bit of spite. It reminded Tommy of himself, oddly enough.
Dream came up from behind, Placing his hands on Tommy's shoulders. He was smiling like he won a fucking trophy, but Tommy was horrified. Why would his brother kidnap a teenager?! The grip tightened and his breath started to pick up.
"Tommy don't tell me you don't know who this is!" his brother said, laughing.
He looked more at the person in front of him. They stared at each other and it seemed both boys figured out how similar they actually were. There were obviously differences, but the similarity was there.
And then Tommy realized who this boy was....
"You...kidnapped PRINCE TUBBO?!" he yelled, and both Dream and...prince Tubbo, seemed surprised at the outburst. Dream sighed, patting his younger brother's head. "Tommy, Tommy. He's been missing for a month now, I just got my buddy Punz to bring him to our basement. I bet you two will be great friends!" he said and left up the stairs, closing the door behind him.
Tommy immediately jumped to action. He ran up to the shorter boy and started untying knots, gaining surprised looks from the kidnapped. "Why are you helping me? Shouldn't you help your sibling?" he asked, finally being free to talk. " I don't agree with kidnapped teenagers, sorry your highness." he muttered, trying to ignore the fact that even their accents were similar. " We are really similar, I'm sure you've noticed." the prince hummed, watching Tommy do the work. Tommy nodded. " Yep and I don't want to know why Dream wanted you here. Now do us both a favor and forget you ever saw me, my brother or...anything. Please." he said, whispering the small plead. He didn't want his life to be taken away by something so small, such as a teenager in a basement. They sunk ships, shot arrows and mocked the royals without fear, yet here he was. Pleading to one.
Tubbo seemed to soften a bit, just as his handcuffs fell to the floor. He stared at Tommy, and he immediately got offended when he saw pity in the royal's eyes.
"OY! I DO NOT NEED PITY!" He yelled, and the prince smiled hitting Tommy's shoulder lightly.
"Nah, it looks like you need all the pity you can get." he replied, shrugging.
Tommy smiled, and the boy smiled back. It's like they were siblings, tied by a weird bond destined at birth.
Then the door opened again, Dream stepping down and trying his best to not laugh.
He fully expected Tommy to attempt freeing the prince, and he also knew that would get Tubbo to have a seed of trust for Tommy. And like any seed, it can grow into a giant plant.
"Tommy." he said, and Tommy froze in his tracks, Tubbo's gaze hardening on the adult.
"I mean, I can't say im exactly surprised. Oh god you probably thought I'd kill the boy or something! No,no. I need his AND your help with my plan!" he said with a smile, and Tommy's breath relaxed. He didn't want to see someone of his age being killed, because he really wasn't used to it. He nodded, grabbing Tubbo's wrist and holding it. For a child he had a strong grip, and Tubbo remembered his family also did that sometimes. Tubbo took a deep breath, and put his moveable hand up.
"W-what do you need my help with?" he asked, hating how his voice cracked in the beginning and how weak he sounded. Tommy also looked at Dream, seeming pretty interested.
"Prince Tubbo, Tommy, us three are going to steal a very important document...."
"...from the royal castle."
